That raid boss in the Final Fantasy MMO that took over 48hours fighting the boss non stop to kill.
I remember reading players would take shifts playing the same toon as no one could stay awake for 48 hours playing a game.
There's a difference between "hard" and "sadistically tedious". FF XI tended to go to the latter because they weren't creative enough to pull off the former.

EQ1. The Sleeper. Mainly because it's a boss that wasn't meant to be defeatable, yet some uberguild managed it. Twice. ( First time the GMs watching had to reset the encounter because the devs hadn't expected it and weren't sure it wouldn't horribly bug out. Caused a major poop-storm... They were later allowed to try again and succeeded. He had no loot. >< )

Driver rollback to one a couple months older seems to have resolved the issues for now.
-
That didn't help, but I found the trigger. Seems to only be happening in that location, but hovering over quest markers on the map to pop up a description seems to be the cause... I seem to be able to play just fine until I try to figure out which marker is which. ><

So far I've only encountered this on Tattooine, and it seems to only happen in the Dune Sea region. I started travelling into the dunes and the game just crashed to the desktop with no error. Loaded the game back up, loaded the character, and after about 30-45 seconds, same result. 5 more tries, same thing. Drivers are up to date and I've run the repair on the launcher, but it hasn't seemed to help.

Oh hey. Whoops. That's what I get for posting tired.

So graphic drivers is the only idea anyone can come up with here?
-
Oddly the drivers that are installed and installed automatically at some point are NEWER than what's on my laptop's manufacturer site ( Acer Aspire E1-572 ). I did attempt to roll back to what's on the manufacturer site, but the system blocks me from installing them.

So, since upgrading to Windows 10 I've been getting some annoying graphical issues. I'm on a laptop, but everything was fine with Win 8.1. This only started showing up when I went to 10, and no other games I play have seen similar issues pop up. Below is what I'm seeing:

Actually the best solution is to have live chat mods....
This would eliminate two problems in one go ,
a)instantly removes gold spammers from chat
b)gets rid of conversations in chat that get out of hand i.e. religion and political topics that can get very bad.
And substantially increase manpower costs for a trivial annoyance.

The little ESRB blob in the bottom right of our forum screens says "Blood and Gore."
Really, BW? Where? Did I miss just it or is there some setting I have to change to see it?
The game developers don't write the ESRB notice. The ESRB does. If you have a problem with what's on there, take it up with them.

Seems like the primary content and favorite entertainment in SWTOR is buying CM outfits. What a disappointment.
This is pretty normal. Gamers like customization options.

No, people who don't read the entire post and then get nasty about it are trolls.........
Just because they don't agree with you and feel strongly about it doesn't mean they didn't read the entire post. The fact that your post was hostile from the subject line pretty much begs for flaming.

IRL it's innocent until proven guilty, but in a online game it's guilty until proven innocent. Report him. EA can do way more than a forum thread ever will.
Well, not, it's still innocent until proven guilty. In this case, EA is the "court", and that's the way they handle investigations. Remember, a report is not a "conviction".

How about this for a possible answer:
"Because every player is looking for something different, and some people want what other people would hate."
Good lord. Someone who gets it?!:eek:

Clipping issues haunt pretty much ever game. It's not a big deal.

you really want wildstar, people would be screaming PHAAAILLL if they did it like wildstar. Put items anywhere but no interaction? the doooooommongers would be back in a flash.
Folks seemed to deal with it okay in EQ2.

The Trolls be hungry tonight.......
...so the people calling you out for trolling semantics are themselves the trolls? Nice.

That's been a frustration for me too. As a trucker, I'm often using public wifi for gaming, which can be twitchy on connection sometimes. A lost connection means getting booted out of the game completely. That's just silly.

Well it's a lottery rather than a casion, but what's the point in sucking credits out of players?
Rampant inflation. Credits aren't a finite resource, so the market over time becomes over-saturated with them as the rich characters keep getting richer leaving the true newbies struggling to cover rising market prices. Money-sinks help some, but they're definitely not a magic bullet solution.

Or a Galaxy far far away, can you not cash a chip in for it's purchase worth..... Never make any money that way.
In a virtual world that is trying to not disrupt game economy even more than it already is with a short-term event, obviously.

Every single name I try and pick for any new character is "Taken by another player...blah blah blah!"
I am absolutely SICK OF IT!!!
I finally chose this hgjklrzdnjklz for a name and even that is taken!!!
Finally, I log on to one of my old characters and log in game and it's not hard to see why all the good names are taken, the damn gold farmers/spammers have all the good names!!!
I demand the Devs take some accountability here and take all those good names away from the spammers and give them back to the PLAYERS!!!
All the gold spammers I've ever seen have "faceroll" names like the one you mentioned. Honestly, I've never needed more than 5 minutes to find a name. Maybe stop picking obviously popular and/or ripoff names?
-
Gold spam's where it's always been in my experience, if not a little lower. I guess it depends on time of day and just pure luck. Just ignore it. They can't really be stopped, though putting filters in has been proven to help some in other MMOs.
-
there is no gold
Nitpicking semantics? What are you, 5? Good god. "Gold" is the generic term for MMO currencies.
Best MMO Boss Fight?

I really hope the negotiations to resurrect the game eventually pan out, but it's painfully slow and quiet. No news is good news, I guess, but I'm itching for results.
