  1. Yep the game has died and will lose more subs as time go on, a few reasons are in play here, mainly the bad and incapable engine that the game runs on, some poor decisions to change the make up of the game and move into solo content and the fact that EA has shown in their presentation that Bioware as a studio is now invested in Action genre rather than RPGs in order for EA to make more money by that kind of games.... after all the lack of support behind this game and its development from EA has been notorious and it really shows to even new players who log in to come across broken quests/events or long queue times in pvp/pve and in general lack of players. As most of us know this was supposed to be an mmo where players stay sub to get lots of content to raid/pvp and at least stable game engine, and none of these are really present. a couple of wz every 3 years or operations that far apart is the sore reason no one stays sub for long, why would we stay sub to a game for an hour a month worth of story which is in fact a lot of cutscene and usually has many many bugs introduced by each chapter? On the other hand, the challenge has been taken away from this game, no more difficulty in leveling/raiding/fp (which is how you actually learn your class by the way) you just fire up a game with a level one character do 5 quests and congratulations! you are now level 10! you want to do a fp? no problem here either do it solo and have a robot tank/heal/dps for you or do a tactical with an all dps team where levels vary from 10-65s ... in most cases the flashpoints used to be tied into the quests and made sense and were relevant to the level unlike now where you just are boosted to level 65 with your 3 baby abilities of level 12 or what ever and you watch as the 65s kill things around you... Who are we kidding the stuff is mainly from the games release and they keep making it "relevant" by uping its level.. happened at 55, then at 60 and now at 65... where is new content? how many bloddy times can we run the flash point hammer station or EV ops? please don't argue that the stuff is relevant still because it is level 65 now, or that you are perfectly happy with the game because the chapter format is perfect.. its not, I mean it doesn't even have replay value once you hit the Kotfe. the game was dying before hand and this chapter format is now helping it. I'm going to cut it short here because I can just keep going on about the issues that will never be addressed as they never have been for all these years either
  2. Instead of this lame format for stories per month we cant just pause that and shift focus for new contents for PvE community and PvP community simultaneously? why is it so sparse and content only comes after people are fed up and usually leave? as a good business model would it not be more advantageous to have both communities active? rather than have one be active for 6 month or so then they scatter while other community is given something? and why is it not possible to give the engine optimization? Improve the game. how is releasing these stories helping when with each release more bugs and broken content comes in play? If you are hoping to keep this game alive, this solo content/stories in chapter format is a huge mistake, as you know MMO means Massively Multiplayer Online games, not Massively Solo Content online with few and little content here and there. Its sad because this game has the potential to be the best.
  3. I have noticed if I put a guard on my companion, entering a phase, using an elevator or entering a cutscene usually removes the guard from them a strips them of all the buffs. This is not always the case so I'm not sure what is causing it. On other occasions, running around solo (without companions) they get auto summoned after cutscenes and such
  4. An actively developed game is one that receives new content regularly, an that is not a 2 hour solo content once a month, please tell me how that is an mmo? we need regular supply of PVE and PVP materials, operation, warzones etc. getting a new wz map once every 3 years or a new operations once every two years is by no means in any book an active development in any mmo... please don't fool yourselves
  5. Hey Ben, I know its not easy to find time to get involved in the posts for you since you probably have a lot on your plate at the office. If we are being honest, SWTOR needs an engine upgrade, that is what is hurting it in all aspects, causes lags, cant handle wpvps, and is just outdated and more. So please just let us know if an new engine is in the works.
  6. I didn't think about that, you have a good point but from what I have seen so far, I doubt they will dedicate resources to this cause
  7. Ah... so if it is not becoming a megaserver then how does this feature exactly help out the dead servers? what is the point of it when you can already toggle your flag on/off? why does this development time not go into better improvements?
  8. Why is everyone mad at Eric, he is just the middleman, reporting to you what he has learnt.
  9. Hey Eric, I was a very big fan of how the new era of this mmo was progressing, and even though for the longest time I stuck around and struggled with the old pvp/pve maps I had high hopes that something new was coming, more over, most of the pvp servers have been a ghost town for a long time, I was really hoping that there was a new announcement about some sort of plan for the state of these servers. All over the forums dating back quite some ways, people have been bringing this issue up. Why is it that we get no response? No one has ever even commented on this, the most we ever got was along the lines of 'Yes we are aware of this and the resulting long queue times'. so what is the solution offered by the developers? Please answer this for us once and for all. thank you
  10. Hey Eric, Thanks for keeping in touch with the community and all the hard work that goes in the game to everyone at Bioware, I have a question which is a little out of place with this topic here, but I am wondering when will we know about plans for PvP servers and overall sever population issues such as queue times? PvE servers are too crowded now and that brings up lag issues and PvP servers are ... pretty much dead. How much longer do we have the 90CC transfer for?
  11. Hello, considering how we are approaching the release date for the expansion and with that the 90CC transfer coming to a close, we still haven't heard anything about the plans for server status, ie, population and what the plans are for almost dead servers. Is there anyway someone could help us with info so we can decide if we should move to a new server or be hopeful of a fix please
  12. Im from Jung Ma. Unfortunately our server population has dropped a lot to the point that queing for most things is a time consuming task, unless done in a 2 hour window at the peak hours. Some people say the server is just fine, but I think deep down they know it is not. I have started my star wars legacy on this server and I hate to transfer out of it. With that said, is it possible to have a cross servers Queue happening? If we are not planning a merge, cross server queue ability takes care of a lot of our concerns.
