I just searched for Unranked versus Ranged PvP in SWToR and found this thread. My commendations. One of the best balanced posts I have read in quite some time of gaming. No finger-pointing! No "this better than that"! Rather a good analysis of good versus bad with both modes. My best compliments to ChillingFear. Usually people are biased. I am too, I guess, even though I try hard to stay accurate. And accusations are thrown all directions but I stay true to my decades year old mantra: If You Cannot Come With Constructive Criticism You Should Not Criticize At All!!! But why? Because any moron can criticize ... or rather what they do is to whine and to rant. But it takes a brain to provide constructive criticism. Such criticism requires you to think things through thoroughly to be able to provide the constructive ideas or solutions. Any "criticism" without fresh ideas or solutions is nothing but yet more rants and should be disregarded. (Here I of course exclude regular bug reports. They do not require solutions but instead they require detailed reports on when/where/what/how and a reproducer, if possible.) Great post, ChillingFear.

As it has been for the last years, game updates have always occurred during Europe prime time playing time which equals lunch to early morning US time zones (east to west). This is unacceptable from a consumer perspective. You guys know very well how many players you have in time zones of let us say 6 hours width. Why not rotate between those to make the pain factor equal to all customers. If east US has 33% players they should not face more than 67% of all updates. If Europe has 15% players we should face 85% of all updates. Etc. As it is know, Europe faces 100% of all updates and many of them go bad, as of today 2018-12-11, when all or most of out evening is broken. I assume your most players play from about 5 or 6 PM even though there are exceptions. But hopefully those are evenly distributed across the time zones. Then we have Asia, Australia, Hawaii, etc. And I guess Hawaii is almost never hurt by the current scheme, at least not during prime time. Personally I am in CET (Europe, Stockholm) time zone == GMT/UTC+1 Visiting this site it does not even tell which time zone the time stamps are presented in. But even if I knew I would have to calculate real time on sight. That is sub-optimal user friendliness. Most forums use to afford the users with options to select their preferred time zone, if summer time should be considered, how time stamps should be displayed, and so forth. This forum provides nothing in that area. Please improve. BR Master Zimoon

I am level 70 Inquisitor Sorcerer (healer) with good gear. Did not work with Senya (level 25 something) as DPS nor Tank. Worked a charm with her as Healer as well, though it took some time, patience and interrupting a couple of times.

No problem solo-ing this instance at level 70 as healer. But you definitely need your companion to be DPS and not tank. Otherwise you will face the timer. Using a grenade and stim will help too.

Heh, you are likely not in the software business, and neither is the one you are quoting. Of course we SW developers hate buggy releases, but we are much ashamed when they happens and we add more tests for the next release. That is one sour spot BioWare has not learned yet, to test ahead of release.

I have the same kind of job as Eric has and I know exactly how he feels. I often have to turn down customer claims but I also often have to play "the devils advocate" when I feel customers are right and my developers are lazy or whatever. It is a hard spot to be in so I feel with Eric. Still, customers bring in our salary so ..... ?

I agree in the praise for Eric. But not when it come to customer satisfaction. We pay and then expects a functional result. Period. But Eric is a person and should not be blamed, BioWare (or EA) should.

This is not personal Eric, not at all. But repeatedly being shafted because being a Europe player is not fun. Either you make those updates alternate around the clock fairly, or you start compensate subscribing players at least 1 day when these things happens. My play day is over by now and bed awaits.
