Um how so? We are not paying for a physical product, it virtual. In all actuality what we are paying for doesn't exist. So it's really hard to come up with a similar situation. But when the servers are up you get exactly what you pay for right? And even though this sounds dumb, when the servers are down we are getting exactly what we are paying for.

But if they run into an issue which will delay the servers going online then its pretty much the same idea, they hit a server maintenance traffic jam.

How are they stealing our money if you personally are paying them? Sounds like normal business to me. Or is it theft on a business now for you to buy gas for your car, then get stuck in traffic?

As I said before, it could be HARDWARE since EA likes to buy the crappiest hardware for server. All their online games have the worst servers ever.

Trust me, I know what a hard days work is more than most people being an Iraq combat vet, and now a highway painter, I have been working 12-15 hours every night for the past 6 weeks, 6 days a week and only have about an hour or two of free time a day, and i balance the time between my girlfriend and this game. I don't like that the servers are down longer than expected, but I have played MMO's for a few years now and I know what to expect. Its not as if they can exempt us paying customers from server down time and put all the down time on the F2P people. There are better things to get your underwear in a bunch over like how the game freezes and the audio gets really jumpy and annoying going into a loading screen for about ten seconds before un-freezing, this happens EVERYTIME!!! (or is that just me?)

So go play those other games! No not really lol This is probably the most enjoyable MMO i have ever played by miles! I do however believe they could communicate better and whatnot. But... hardware could have a lot to do with it to, maybe EA and BioWare bought crap hardware for the servers without really knowing (although i would never put that past EA since almost all their online games have the worst servers ever) and now they are stuck in that rut. It could be anything, But BioWare absolutely needs to take their time and plan all this out better (PTR pre-live patch testing, keeping us better informed and more ahead of time ect...)

Blizz is probably the wealthiest gaming machine out there, they can throw however much money they want on staff and technology to ensure things get done. But think of this, the player animation for the very first original WoW races haven't changed in years!!! They still look like crap off the Nintendo. But look at the pandaren and newer races and see how detailed they are, Blizz doesn't turn back for anything, not even improving the old content. That just irks me in a way you know.

Its seriously not that big of an issue, be patient and accept it, it happens and complaining will never fix a thing. All it does is show how immature you are. They need to update their forum to deliver Ritalin straight into the veins of all the people who are freaking out over pesky little things. Server down time happens, get over it and move on. Its not like BioWare killed your dog.

Or do it how WoW has been doing it for ages, run the updates on PTR a week or so before going live. In other words, they shouldn't have jumped straight to 2.4 on PTR, especially since they are adding a whole new UI element to the game (in game CC purchase)

Why crush a mans dreams huh? I mean come on, it makes sense from a customer service/satisfaction view to tell us whats going on, if its a huge huge problem and seems like it will take hours and hours to fix, i'm not even bothering to stick around. But if its small like the servers are off sync by 2 seconds I could stick around and wait for them to resolve that issue.

I agree there though, how hard could it be to get your office jock who makes the coffee every morning to slap together whats going on for us to know whether sitting here waiting is worth the wait or not.

Could be an issue they are fixing now, but if its that big of a problem to you just swap servers.

Well think of it this way, if they do not maintain the servers they would be absolutely terrible. Crashes all the time, tons of latency and even more downtime fixing the active problems. Just like your computer, you have to clean it up every once in a while or it will eventually run slower and slower am i right? Who knows they may have found a huge problem with the servers that they just ran into while implementing this update that could make your computer explode in your face if you are in the right spot at the right time doing the companion dance. You never know... (obviously not going to happen so no need to be scared, or could it????)

I can't really complain about the servers being down longer than expected, if we want good running servers maintenance is a must and it should be expected. It's just like people who complain about pot holes and how crappy the roads are, but complain about work zones to fix said pot holes and bumpy roads. Patients people, that is the name of the game. Also, if you are a subscriber to SWTOR and WoW you are just wasting money. Pick one and play it or give me that money you are wasting, it would be very appreciated since I have a son on the way in 6 weeks
