Is it true that it can only be achieved in Hard mode?

I've got all but the loyalty chip. Does this really have to be done in Hard mode? I've completed the Maelstrom prison in solo mode, the crate was light up but when I opened it, it was empty! Is this the sign that I have to tackle this in Hard Mode??

Hi I'm wondering if anyone can help. I making my way through the HK-55 quest and come across a huge snag! I can not locate Drummond Kass on my star map!! I'm playing as a Jedi Sentinel, a couple of months ago I defeated the Emperor there and since then it no longer appears on my Star Map. Also after defeating Revan, was I supposed to pick up a processor chip? Again that was not available to me after I defeated Revan. Can anyone help with my predicament?? Thanks
