  1. She signed her own death warrant on Ziost as far as I'm concerned. Yes, let's ignore ALL the intel coming from the planet and send thousands of snacks to Vitiate. Brilliant, Saresh. Truly, you are the leader the Alliance needs. My only gripe with her death scene - honestly after Ziost I'm not sure even my goody two shoes JC will be able to spare her - is that I couldn't Force Choke her as the Wrath or shiv her as Cipher Nine.
  2. I was hoping the new Ravage would look more like whatever skill Marr uses but there's just something off about it. Like it happens entirely too fast considering there's a flip involved. There is acrobatic skill and then there is...whatever is going on with the new Ravage animation. Same with the Jedi skill tbh. And why am I flipping sideways? What purpose does that even serve? The CD on Ravage also feels way too long now that the skill is over in the blink of an eye and does substantially less damage.
  3. I also agree. I chose to save Torian for a number of reasons and despite both my personal dislike of Vette and foreknowledge that the one I didn't rescue first would die, her death was still shocking. It was also really well done, and added to the reality of being at war with an enemy who gives no quarter.
  4. I never played any of the KOTOR games and perhaps if I had, I wouldn't have such a dim view of the JK story because I could see it as a continuation of something else, instead of a poor attempt at making us all feel like Luke Skywalker without the family issues. Of course those issues and his powerful emotions which he does not always control are part of what make him interesting as a character, imo, and based on how bored the JK VA sounded half the time I have to wonder if he felt that way, too. Of course I played my JK like the true Chosen One, my precious trash son Anakin, which means he's an immature twit with a mean streak a mile wide who tends to negotiate with the business end of his lightsaber. THAT was actually fun, being this brat of a Jedi that Satele probably would've liked to kick out of the Order, falling for a Sith lord after the one on your ship promises to raise your spawn as Sith... But that pales in comparison to the SW story imo. I felt like too much was handed to me as a JK, even as DS, whereas the SW has to fight for everything and that kind of struggle is far more interesting for me. The voice acting is top notch for both genders. The English really do make the best villains, and perhaps it's in part because of how utterly indifferent they sound when they say cruel things like "There won't be a heart left beating." I do wonder who thought it was a good idea to put Baras in charge of the cookies we promise to potential Dark Side recruits, but overall the NPCs in the SW story were more memorable, too. Darth Vowrawn is an absolute treasure. The Hand are creepy af but amazing. And you get Darth Marr instead of Saresh on Makeb. That right there catapults the SW story past the JK imo Excellent summation.
  5. Well, Lana was the better fit for my JK because I played him with Anakin in mind, and Kira felt a little too sidekick-y to romance. Of course I also run around with a lot of head canons when I play, and Kira did not mesh well with the head canons I have for Malachus. Lana, however, did. So what it really comes down to is which romance suits your character better.
  6. The thing is, they have long term contracts with all of their VAs and TOR was not on the list of affected games. I don't know if that's because it launched well before 2015 or because of the contracts, but either way it's more likely that balancing the desire to bring companions back in a meaningful way through the story with making KotET more cohesive as a story than KotFE is the actual issue.
  7. /signed Either make these things gold tier or put them in the CM as standalone purchases.
  8. I'm hoping that this will be fixed when they fix the issue with PvP items people have been using for years suddenly having a Valor req that they don't meet and thus, being unusable.
  9. I'm having the same problem...on a brand new Alienware rig -_-; I guess I'll fiddle with the shaders and see if that helps.
  10. The toggle is ONLY set to Dark by default if the character is at least DS I. The toggle was set to Light for ALL of my neutrals, even the ones with more DS points than LS. And yeah, Dark has won once on EH while I've been online. /sigh
  11. Inb4 they actually do this. No seriously, I could see it. I mean, it makes more sense for one thing; and we know they like to resurrect the dead.
  12. As ugly and uncomfortable a truth as it is, you really can't save everyone. Not every time. Vaylin could not get past what had been done to her, so she couldn't transform herself the way Arcann did. That doesn't mean she was any less beloved by the story, either, rather it's a testament to just how horribly cruel Vitiate was and a painful reminder that sometimes, the person who suffers the consequences of an evil act is not the one who committed it. Sometimes you can save them in time, but not always. By the time we meet Vaylin, she had already suffered too much. Killing her was a mercy imo.
  13. A lot of Knights seem to me to be little more than glorified mall cops so it stands to reason that when facing the Star Wars equivalent of a Green Beret or Navy Seal they would get wrecked. :3 On a more serious note, however, if what Satele said about them is true then their weakness might be indicative of their lack of conviction. I assumed it was a case of too much power too quickly combined with her continually eroding state of mental health. That, and the fact that as angry as she is and as much as she wants everyone to suffer for what they did/let happen to her, she's just as hurt. Plus the idea that you're stronger when you're protecting/defending or fighting for someone/something rather than simply to hurt or conquer is kind of a Star Wars thing, so I wouldn't be surprised if that wasn't the real reason. I didn't go the "My mind, my rules" route on my Wrath because it didn't seem like something he would say or even consider, tbh. As for what happened to Vitiate-as-Valkorion's power, it did seem like we got smacked in the face with some of it but then we also apparently struck his spirit down so I'm honestly not sure. Possibly that was meant to be left intentionally vague. And I actually recruited Arcann because my DS Wrath needs a bro
  14. Okay so it's awesome to have a bro for my DS Wrath at last. Finally, someone who can understand exactly what he's been through! Thank you for that, devs. So about him being romanceable... /SIGNED In the past I supported this primarily on principle, because it's always good to have options. But now...now...! The depth I was hoping wasn't just my imagination has been revealed and I want him for one of my ladies O_O He was redeemed by love just like my precious trash son Anakin. And he has his mother's eyes. And that voice! I swear it's like BW wants me to find him attractive.
  15. It's hard to believe this is intentional because of how idiotic it is. And it's mentioned nowhere in the patch notes, at least not that I can find. Here's hoping this is a case of incompetence, negligence, lack of forethought or some combination thereof. Or in other words, that they borrowed a page from ANet's book and completely fubar'ed one thing by changing something else, because to not even give players a warning that they wouldn't be able to use gear they've been using for years in some cases is inexcusable imo. (GW2 was down for a full 8 or 9 hours a few months ago because in attempting to change one very specific item that only some players had in their inventories they managed to break their own game so badly that they had to take everything down while they fixed it. Then just this past Halloween they had to remove a cosmetic item from their version of the CM and disable all those purchased for several hours because equipping or previewing it crashed the game. And I'd say 99% of the time they release a patch, you get hit with at least one hot fix just a couple of hours later.)
  16. There's a title you can earn in Guild Wars by leveling a character to 20 - the level cap - in the tutorial area, aka Pre-Searing Ascalon. ArenaNet even added a rotating set of repeatable dailies to help make the process a little less frustrating - the original process involved death leveling with a pet which iirc required the mobs to be within a certain range of a rez shrine in order to work. The situation here isn't exactly the same, I know, but I mentioned the Defender of Ascalon title because imo a special title for max level, base class characters would be a nice consolation prize for having to pick an advanced class since 5.0 dropped. And to preempt the argument that a tile or achievement which isn't theoretically possible for anyone and everyone to earn at some point in time isn't fair, I would point to the title given to players who pre-ordered the game. Disclaimer: I never did this myself (and my DoA is only at level 15 because I'm lazy) and I'm aware that not picking an AC was never intended, but neither was leveling a GW character to 20 in Pre. ^_^
  17. Ugh. Yeah the Walkers were glitchy af and the lag we were getting on EH last night just made that worse. That said it was somewhat satisfying to smash clumps of Stormtroopers with a single stomp because dear gods I'm sick of dealing with the seeming endless hordes of those bloody things. I also found the Dragon Palace map to be very confusing without any indication as to whether a target was up or down a level. Most of us in gen chat tried to help each other out and seeing the "I had no problem doing this so there's clearly a problem with YOU" crowd outnumbered for once was nice. As for Jorgan's silence...since he's one of my favourites I never kill him so I was also wondering why Grumpy Cathar wasn't grumping on Iokath and then it hit me: He's dead for some players. With Arcann, I accepted the Voss' explanation that he was disoriented and (understandably) horrified when he thought Senya had given her life to heal him, and wanted to get as far away from that as he could. Whatever hope you have of convincing him to stay goes right out the window when Valkorion decides to make an appearance, because what he's just been through the absolute last thing Arcann is ready to deal with is his father. Mind you I've only played all the way through KotET on my DS Wrath, so not being able to destroy the Eternal Fleet made sense for him...even if I'm wondering how long it will be until that choice comes back to bite him. I can definitely see how that choice doesn't work for a LS or even a neutral character, though. >_<
  18. Yeah it's ridiculous that he's wearing the exact same outfit five years later, especially since I'm pretty sure he's the only organic companion who didn't get some kind of appearance update.
  19. I chose Torian. Vette has always annoyed me so there was definitely some personal bias involved HOWEVER my Wrath is also Lawful Evil and to him, Vette was simply a present from Baras. Weighed against the value of a Mando warrior, the choice was a fairly obvious one for Adraeus. And her line about almost believing Saresh was the final nail in her coffin, for both me and him. He would've Force Choked her for that lack of faith had the game allowed it.
  20. Sorry if I wasn't clear. I was saying that you were right about the Lana romance, and that he therefore shouldn't have to worry about flirts from her. ^_^ Theron was about as happy to see Saresh as I was, and after the conversation with Jorgan about the Republic in KotFE I doubt he was sorry to see her go. Unsure about the Bothan, though. "Stall Saresh" is what Theron told him. Why not have Oggurobb sit on her, eh? >_> Aside from being Lawful Evil myself, I must confess that I've always found Vette to be incredibly annoying so there's undoubtedly some bias in my interpretation. <_< The intent was likely to reinforce the idea that without the Outlander the centre cannot hold, but imo that line needed editing. How could any of our allies doubt our ability to survive at this juncture? I mean, Arcann couldn't kill you but a shuttle crash can? And just how many times have we had what the US Army calls a "hard landing" in KotFE alone? Vette's gotten pissy with Adraes before so I know she has a backbone. Why not have her say "I can't believe I stood there and listened to her!" Or if they wanted something softer, then "I used to look up to her, you know, but...you're the one I believe in."
  21. SerraStar's right. If you didn't romance Lana in KotFE and choose a very specific [Flirt] option in Ch 9 then you are locked out of a romance with her, thus you should not be confronted with any further such options with her in KotET. NO idea about other characters, but you can always just ignore them if/when they appear.
  22. Hmm...no one tried that with my Wrath last night. Interesting! Not that the outcome would've changed, mind you. >:3 You betray him, you get a saber through the chest.
  23. So after reading this thread, I'm going to assume that my Immortal Juggernaut can look forward to a very looooooooooooong fight xD
  24. It took me a few minutes to even find the bloody DvL widget last night, despite having read all the threads about it hiding under the minimap and how to get around its quirks, because somehow mine was under my quickbars and nearly off the screen. :| Why it couldn't be part of the menu bar - which really did not need to be compressed like that - I don't know. Anyway I'm hopeful that there will be more of a back and forth between the two sides as more people find and use the widget. EDIT: Aion had a glut of Elyos and to compensate we Asmos were given certain buffs, based on how badly outnumbered we were. It wouldn't be a bad mechanic to have, buffing the side that hasn't won after however many resets so that they are at least competitive.
  25. I got stuck jumping over an exploded power cell on the Gravestone, typed /stuck, and died. I tested it again, just to be sure that was the problem, and sure enough /stuck killed me. (In retrospect it was pretty bloody funny but at the time I was kiiiiiind of irritated because that bit has a very short timer.)
