  1. Just a reminder that I'm not talking about copyright law at all. I'm talking about whether or not using credits (as opposed to real-world money) to purchase art commissions is against the EUALA.
  2. Yeah, I see a referral link as very different from an out-of-game art commission thing. With the referral, you're trading in-game credits for the in-game bonus you get for referring someone to SWTOR. Not to mention, you're also contributing another potential subscriber to SWTOR, which makes EA money. Selling commissions, on the other hand, has a benefit and value entirely separate from SWTOR. You could hypothetically pay someone in-game credits to paint a picture of your dog or something.
  3. I was involved in a discussion with someone who disagreed with me that offering art commissions for in-game credits was against the EUALA. My justification was this paragraph specifically: You acknowledge and agree that you have, except as may be expressly permitted by EA, no right to and may not sell, auction, give away, or in any way make available, whether free of charge or for a fee, any Content (including any Content generated by yourself or any other user), character/avatar, object, item or any component of the Software or Game, to another person. All of the aforementioned actions, especially those performed via online auctions, forums or chat rooms, will therefore contravene the terms of this EUALA. From my understanding, offering art commissions with real-world value would constitute a breach of the EUALA because it is "making available" in-game credits for a "fee" of an out-of-game art commission and would therefore be grounds for banning and/or legal action. You're essentially buying credits with art commissions instead of with $$$. Is there any way I can get an official statement on the matter from EA?
  4. There is one centerpiece hook on the Imperial guild flagship in the middle of the command deck. You also can't break down the starship size hooks into anything.
  5. Honestly, with the price of decorations now, it might be cheaper to buy a guild ship to decorate instead of a personal stronghold. I don't have a "personal" guild ship, but I run a small RP guild with its own (fully unlocked) ship and I tend to decorate it more than my personal strongholds. It's so convenient to be able to buy as many decorations I want for a reasonable price (25-75k), the hook numbers are going to be great with the QoL improvements, and there's a LOT of space to fill.
  6. For anyone who didn't watch the stream yesterday, these quality of life changes were announced for strongholds: 5 personal stronghold per legacy 50% increase in decoration limits for guild flagships. Common decoration limits increased to 999. As someone who's been grouchy about the paltry number of guild flagship hooks since I unlocked one on day 1, I really appreciate the addition of more hooks. My guild's an RP guild and we do a whole lot of stuff on our flagship, so my fellow leader and I are thrilled that we won't have to ration hooks anymore. We can actually decorate the walls! I'm also personally thrilled about being able to get my 5th stronghold back. I dropped NS when Yavin came out, and I've missed it ever since. Things I would really like to see in future are: decoration count on a per-stronghold basis (so if you have 3 luxury spas, you can use 3 per stronghold instead of across all of them). Given how expensive most decorations are, this would really help out with decorating - especially for new players who haven't been around since the beginning ability to unlock additional copies of unlocked decorations for personal strongholds, either with credits or CC (sort of like the awesome 'donate to guild' feature) a few more hooks for DK/Coruscant/NS player strongholds. Even 25 more hooks would make a big difference for me on those three more directly purchasable decorations on the CC some other way to get cartel certificates so we can still buy these decorations
  7. Here's my cubes-to-pack items screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/9NAEHBr.jpg Ugh.
  8. Here's what I got in chance cubes vs. actual items: http://i.imgur.com/9NAEHBr.jpg Pretty disappointed. I don't want the old items because it's just more junk I have to sell. I really wanted some of the new decorations.
  9. Tatooine is definitely a nature stronghold - it's just a desert environment. I use it as a base on a desolate planet (like Mars!) and have built a secret research base on it. That said, I'm a big fan of trees, so I'd definitely be down for some more "biological" strongholds. Odessan is a pretty place that would make sense Lore-wise for the player character to have some kind of fortress, but I'm still holding out for Alderaan.
  10. I liked the story, but I didn't really want all the MMO content to be cut as well. I was really glad Bioware added the Star Fortresses since they gave me a lot of achievements and other stuff to complete, but I finished all the achievements last week and haven't really been back. I hope we get some more MMO content in future patches.
  11. The only male romance option I like so far is Vector, and that's just because I'm weird. Aside from that, they all suck. I prefer to do straight romances, but I went for Lana on my Inquisitor because she was leagues ahead of stupid Andronikos. The other thing I noticed is that there aren't a lot of "abuse of power" relationships if you play as a female character. Like, look how many female apprentices or direct subordinates (or an outright slave/prisoner in Vette) you get to romance if you play as a male character. Here's just the Force-sensitive classes: Knight: Kira's your Padawan (romanceable) Warrior: Jaesa's your apprentice (romanceable) Consular: Nadia is your Padawan (romanceable) Inquisitor: Ashara is sort of your apprentice (romanceable)... and the romance for your actual apprentice (Xalek) is conspicuously missing - probably because he's male. So every male Force-sensitive class character gets to have a romance with their "student", and there's bupkis for female Force-sensitives.
  12. I actually play SWTOR quite frequently on the original Surface Pro (i5 and 4gb RAM if I recall correctly) so you can definitely play it on the low end of the newer models. I usually have the graphics set to medium, and I've run the game both connected to a monitor, and just on the little screen when I'm out and about or don't feel like sitting at my desk. Like other people said though, if you're not really going to use the tablet functionality (I personally use the pressure sensitive screen for painting since I don't like to travel with my full graphics tablet) you might be better off looking at a full laptop computer in the same price range.
  13. There is a new vendor on fleet that sells a whole bunch of Rakata-themed decorations for comms/crystals. It's right beside the cartel certificate and credit decoration vendors in the stronghold area of fleet.
  14. Since they reduced the drop rates of decorations, I've been finding it really hard to decorate guild and personal strongholds since everything's so expensive. The original stronghold packs were some of my favourite packs Bioware's ever released, and I especially loved that you were pretty much guaranteed a decoration with each pack. Bring them back, or increase the deco drop rate moving forwards!
  15. I would be on board with this. Other full-eye colours (like Chiss eyes) would be great too, especially like.. yellowish gold or blue. Probably doesn't make the most sense from a lore perspective, but it'd be neat!
