I wouldn't be suggesting a workaround for PVE players if it weren't for the gatekeeping that happens in PVP ranked. I gave it a try multiple times, didn't care what people said to me or how frustrated they were, but then they started throwing matches if I ever ended up on their team. I just want the crystal, ranks or win counts don't matter to me. I'm willing to play pvp and lose for three hours straight just to get it lol, I'll even make a youtube video of it just to generate some revenue with a fail reel. And what with all these shows coming out making the Darksaber mainstream it would be sweet to have it in the game for all players.

This is kinda true, but I don't think the true cost is the tokens or even the time it takes to get them, the part that makes doing ranked such a chore is the community and how exclusive it is. Anyone who has ever tried getting into it after gearing up and practicing in warzones know how much steeper the learning curve is and how unpleasant a good chunk of the people you play with is.

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks so! I just don't know what else we can really do to bring the idea to their attention, I'm no programmer or have any experience with game design but I can't imagine it would be that hard to implement. And heck I'd pay 1000 cc just for the crystal.

I completely agree! I think purple is a great and iconic colour for star wars lore, I remember first playing the game back in 2013 and wishing I could make my human's eyes purple/amethyst. We can make our eyes white, why not purple too?

Ever since the darksaber was more heavily focused on in Rebels and now has reemerged in The Mandalorian I believe it would be the perfect time to make a new black-white crystal. The reason why I say new is because there is a striated ranked pvp reward crystal that is very similar. As we already know there are striated and non-striated versions of many black core crystals, the addition of a non-striated black-white or black-silver crystal would allow non pvp players to have their own special crystal. I don't think it would even be that hard to add as there is evidence to suggest such a crystal has existed in the past. The white crystal wasn't always a cartel market item, so maybe it would be cool to bring this crystal back and make it a cartel market item. You could even give a cool mandalorian themed name as a reference to the whole Tarre Vizla backstory. That way the pvp black-silver striated crystal remains a pvp exclusive item, I wouldn't want to suggest making it a pve item as well because that would be unfair to the people who put in the effort to earn it. Hello everyone! I’m sure many of us who are fans of the black and white lightsaber from the Force Unleased and the darksaber from the Clone Wars TV show are finding ourselves disappointed by… ahem *activates vader voice* a certain lack of black and white lightsabers. And why is that? Well the only known black core crystal with a white glow in the game is the Black-Silver Striated color crystal which can ONLY be acquired through participating in ranked pvp. For those who are competent or even skilled at ranked pvp the arguments I’m about to make aren’t going to feel very relevant for you. However, there are some of us who would rather not have to put up with the volatile and often hostile atmosphere of ranked pvp. As someone who tried to level up and eventually get into ranked, the crystal isn’t worth putting up with the players who are angry with you trying to survive long enough to get what you need to acquire the crystals. (I’d rather work retail in a Target 8 hours a day, 7 days a week). So here are three ways for us PVE players to have our own black-core white-glow crystals so that we don’t have to worry about ruining the experience of the PVP players. We’ll go from simplest to most complex 1. We take the existing Black-silver crystal and make it available to PVE players by either adding it to the cartel market OR making it so that PVP players can reverse engineer them, craft them and then sell or trade them. 2. We add (or possible reintroduce) a non striated black-white crystal as either a cartel market item or a craftable item. I have screenshots of what is supposed to be the original black-white crystal before it was apparently removed from the game in a very early patch. 3. Or finally, we do a bit of everything. Here is my fun idea. You could make a cartel market item that unlocks an Artifice crafting recipe for the NON-striated black-white crystal. Then in order to make the crystal you have to travel to different planets killing different world bosses and harvesting different materials. By implementing the crystal like this, it becomes a status symbol much like the striated version, only the non striated version would be more for PVE players to show that they went through the process of making it. (You could even make it so that you can’t reverse engineer them and they are legacy bound as soon as you pick them up so you can’t sell, mail or trade them). I doubt this is high on the dev’s priority list but it would be cool for them to do this. Help spread this! I'm probably beating a dead horse/wampa by adding to this thread but... eh what the heck? Maybe the devs will listen? I've got a few images of what should be real screenshots of a black-white (NOT STRIATED) lightsaber before it was apparently removed in a very early version of the game. I agree that the striated version should remain PVP exclusive as a sort of status symbol but for those of us who would rather avoid the heinous atmosphere of playing with high strung ranked players... a PVE alternative would be nice. Maybe it could be a crafting recipe you unlock through a cartel item and then you have to travel the galaxy to collect all the recources you need for it, maybe there could be a new world boss for you and your friends to fight (kinda like the force ghost on Ilum that dropped the raw magenta crystal necessary for crafting the colour crystal). The point is I doubt it would be difficult to add into the game. You could easily add a non striated black-white crystal as a simple cartel market item, something you can craft with a cool gathering process like I suggested or you simply take the existing striated crystal and make it more accessible to PVE players. Just in case, for those who aren't familiar: blue, green, red, purple, yellow, orange, white and then finally black. In the early days of the game's life people were discussing the existence of an elusive and possibly fake black lightsaber. However, a few pvp seasons ago a black-silver STRIATED crystal was added and could be obtained through ranked pvp. I finally decided that I was willing to give pvp a try (I'm predominantly more of a PVE player) but in order to do that I had to do a character transfer from TOFN to TRE. So I bought some cartel coins and did the transfer. I decided to record the journey because I thought it would be fun to see myself progress towards 3k or more ranked tokens to afford the crystal when the season ends (assuming it's even a reward). I did some regular matches and my performance was all over the place but I sorta got used to the chaos and finally had the necessary valor rank to participate in ranked. The general response to my inexperience was toxic to say the least... however I can't completely blame the more intolerant players because I was always the weak link and didn't really know what I was doing. So now I'm on the fence about continuing on this quest. I understand that the black-silver striated crystal is meant to be a reward for the efforts of pvp players and I am not going to say that it should be attainable through pvp. However, the suggestion I do wish to make is that a NON-STRIATED black-white/black-silver crystal be added to the game for us PVP players. It can be a cartel market item or something or it could be earned by doing something crazy like completing certain Kotet/Kofte missions on the highest difficulty (in fact it could be earned by completing the "Dreams and Visions" and the Nathema missions and you could call it a "Void Black Color Crystal"). I dunno, I don't want to sound greedy but I just feel that one of the cooler and possibly the rarest of all canon lightsaber colors should be attainable in some shape or form for both PVE and PVP players (kinda like how everyone can get the normal black-purple crystals and only some people can get black-purple striated crystals).
