  1. Is it just me? Now that companions are dress up dolls and stats no longer matter, isn't the GTN and economy going to go through some radical changes? I mean tons gear is going to build up since companions no longer need upgrades. Greens and blues will mostly be vendor trash. Money will tend to build up without the companion gear as a major money sink. Gear gotten from events will be purely cosmetic since stats only affect main characters and it'll pointless to get more than one set since most of us aren't going to change gear on our main characters very often. A huge amount of crafted and adaptive gear will be pointless now. All the +41 stones that were companion off-hands are now trash. Probably the worst part (from my perspective) is getting great drops of purples and blues that would normally upgrade companions, are now wasted. Either vendor trash or GTN with every other player trying to sell them off. The millions I spent on setting up my companions isn't really an issue because making money in SWTOR isn't a problem. Even the gear bought through the Cartel Market for companions is now cosmetic. For example, the bowcaster bought for Treek off the Cartel market is just a dress up item. Crafting armoring, power crystals, mods etc is going to be mostly pointless because selling them on the GTN is no longer worth while and the amount needed to skill up means they will simply be bag fillers. Commendations need only be used on main character so those will build up and become useless. For players who like to solo, the companion as a dress-up doll is extremely annoying. Since there will be no point in either setting up gear for companions or attending events or even changing companions since they are essentially the same now (aside from affection that can be bought from gifts). I like the majority of the new content. However since there's no point in gearing companions, other than for looks, then there's no need to even gear most of them. Does it save money and time? Yes. Will gear accumulate and essentially become worthless? Also yes. The GTN is about to be hit with a ton useless gear that will pointless since companions are essentially Barbie dolls with story lines. Just my thoughts. I'd be glad to hear what other folks think.

Probably already said since there are 23 pages but; 1) A hanger addition to strongholds or a hanger stronghold. 2) 1 on 1 battles for new pilots to train in flying. 3) Guild ships for Capital Ship combat (I asked my GM if I could take the guild ship out for a spin .. he said "no" 4) Player designable paintjobs (not saying the devs paintjobs suck, but a larger comminty effort would yeild some amazing results.) Same thing for Guild ships. 5) Either add stealth or fix the "ships vanishing thing" 6) Have a "Pickup Teams" type system to allow Vet players to fight Vet players so new folks don't get discouraged so easily. 7) Insta-kill people who say Gunships are OP 8) More support type loadouts for Gunships. Yes, we have CC but I would like heal loads for railguns to heal friendlies. Energy transfer loads to boost friendlies. Shielding loads ... You get the idea. 9) New maps (like that hasn't said before) 10) In game voice chat for GSF groups and teams 11) Some type of player based ship design system using modular parts. (yes I know, Devs are too busy to do something like that) This would give us some incredibly individualized ships. Keep in mind two things: None of these are complaints (well maybe number 7 a little). I love GSF but I want to see it grow and get even better. Secondly, it 30 mins past new years and I'm very drunk. Happy New Year to all me GSF homies! Looking forward to another great year of great fights with you all!

  4. If a Hijacking probe were available I think a "self destruct button" ability would be a compliment to it. Allowing a player to self destruct taking out himself and a close-by enemy player. Another possibility could be railgun slugs that would slow and enemy for 5 seconds but do no damage or slug that are healing nanobot slug to be shot at friendly players. Maybe even some AOE slugs.

While I'm still somewhat a noob (I gladly take advice from several folks who've helped me a lot}, I learned the hard way that Gunships are better at doing lots of damage to everything and then kiting the people who're chasing me to my side's fighter and scout. While I run somewhat aggressive in a Gunship (yes I die a lot, everyone gets all community minded about Gunships, thinking they're evil or something.), when I fly one of my bombers the same principle applies. Use the Bomber as bait and pull the other side in 1s and 2s back to our Fighter, Scouts and Gunships. Yes I get a number of kills, best days are 13-15 worst of coarse is 1-2, but assists and damage are my gravy.

  8. I had the same issue. Got so ticked trying to find a solution that I finally broke down and re-installed windoze. works like an Ace now! Seriously before you go to that extreme, try new video/sound drivers. Hope it works for ya.
  9. Wonder if a Jawa tried to improve the server. either that or some Wookie tripped over the power cord.
