I am definitely not pro level sync as a mandatory thing. It will affect my enjoyment of the game. Call me anti-social or say I have bad gaming skills I do not really care. No one enjoys the game the way I play more than I do. No other opinions matter as far as that goes. I was playing SWG when the combat upgrade and NGE hit. It slowly killed the game for me. I ended up cancelling four accounts and finding a new game. Games come. Games go. If I don't enjoy it I don't play it. I am not an avid PvPer. I have dabbled on a few of my toons. I could truly care less for it. Does that mean I want to see PvPers experience issues. Nope. I do not typically do group finder. My experiences in this game with groups outside of my current guild have been mostly negative. I do not typically like wasting my time looking for groups to do content as I work full time and as a single father of a special needs child I cannot always be completely attentive to the game. Most of what I do in game is solo. I do not do a lot of raiding. My gear is not end game. My gear will probably never be end game. I do not care. If I load in and decide to rampage across Korriban or Tython or any other low level world then that to me at the time is fun. Do others enjoy it? Why would I care? If they are enjoying what they are doing who am I to tell them hey you are doing it wrong? Would I use level sync? If it is optional I am sure I would. If I am helping out my family with some low level stuff I would turn it on as to not ruin their XP. But if I decide to do Hammer Station or some other low level FP or heroic out of sheer boredom or the need to kill things and blow off steam from the real world do I really want to have to fight my way through it? Not really. If I want to do a challenging FP there is hard mode. Two things will happen for me after this next update if level sync is not optional. One I will just level toons up as i always do and then basically abandon them once they cap (getting on occasionally to do some small thing to make some cash). I will not revisit worlds I have leveled past as I have no desire to go back on level to Alderaan and Corellia (which to me were mind numbing). I will probably avoid any planet beyond the one I cap on (at this moment Rishi). The second thing will be that I take the money I spend on three accounts on this game and actually break down and buy an X-box to play Battlefront and go back to playing table top RPGs. Not that three cancelled accounts will make much difference in the big picture this is my outlook on it. I can always get my Star Wars fix in other ways.

I am a glutton for punishment. I went back after the last time. This time everything was so so. Had two sith sorc's and myself and another sniper. Both the SS were listed as healing and one actually did some of it. The problem I had most was the non healing SS would use force wave pushing everything out of range and screwing up LOS. The second SS saw what a good idea it was and mid way through decided that he would do it too. Even with that not a horrible run. The funniest thing was when the first SS asked if everyone was familiar with the grenade boss. The other sniper went "damn straight!" Ok.......go left the first SS and I say. What does the sniper do? Goes right! We go right the next time he goes left. <shaking head> How we did not die was amazing enough. The healing from the second SS was top notch for that fight I must say.

Why I subject myself to KDY I will never know. I was on my 27 sniper. The was a 37 mara, 26 jugg, and a 38 sith sorcerer. First thing I did was check achievements. The mara had some experience outside of KDY so that was promising. The other two didn't have a lot of experience otherwise but that would be cool I thought. Fresh group maybe it wouldn't be that bad. I really have to stop doing this flash point. The first thing we got was a SS who believes that what, lightning/force storm is the best for aggro and destruction. The other thing was a severely under geared tank who couldn't hold aggro, do damage or stay alive. The mara was actually decent. We got the ship assembly. We go to clearing the room and the tank goes one way and aggros while the rest of us go the other way. SS initiates before the mara and i can get turned around. No kill order. The pick one and and stick to it. Except for the SS who is throwing lightning on cooldown. Now no one has died at this point so I am still somewhat optimistic. I have never done the assembly before. Well no one else has either. So I pull up the guide online and run it real fast. Have I mentioned no one but myself and the mara really believe in healing up? The next part goes bad. We ended up going to the area where you have to blow up the missiles and such. So it is a bit of a maze for those that haven't done it before. No one wants to stay together. We start out moving to the right next thing we know the jugg comes running back with friends. This starts a period of wipes that should not happen. The jugg and the ss died who knows how many times. 12+? They do not release but instead wait on rezs. The shear idiocy of it is compounded by the ss asking why we were in a FP with everything being 55. It has to be a mistake. I told him no, it is a tactical and we are bolstered to 55 for it. Well that is dumb. lol Needless to say the jugg and ss die and just lie and wait everytime for a rez. This includes the boss fight. We got the droid and he has the small droids that spawn that you need to kill. Well I move to the back of the room to the kolto console. The ss immediately drops lightning on him and hilarity ensues. We wipe fast. Me: make sure to kill the adds. Jugg: hey guys SS: this is kind of hard. mara: what's up? ss: do you think his health is full again? everyone: yes I explain the fight and what needs to be done. We wiped again. It is at this point what little respect I had for the mara went out the window. jugg: SS you were a healer and you weren't healing me! mara: lol it doesn't help the fact that this is what a level 24 fp, so we join it and it must be on hard mode that why our HP must be what a level 55 hp is jugg: i am the aggro holder ss: my healing sucks jugg: no it doesn't <shaking head> me: guys it is a tactical, there is no hard mode, we are bolstered to 55 jugg: so heal!! ss: it takes so much force I can use the kolto thing but I am better for damage mara: lol hey don't say anything i don't do FPs they are effing dumb. Round three!!! Tank goes down in two hits. jugg: you!!! jugg: come on jugg: wth?? jugg: this is most frustrating mara: the droids hp is effing 457K jugg: they need to nerf this droid jugg: so hard mara: how are you supposed to beat a droid whose hp are 457K? like come on man this is why I don't do FPs they are dumb as hell At this point we are ticking an hour. I figure I have abused myself enough.

Like I said in my first post I am not the best player in the world but neither am I the worst. I try and do my best to learn the game and take constructive criticism well. If I am screwing up and you tell me something that helps me improve my game play that is awesome. In my years of playing mmo's I have learned a few things. Do not run ahead of the trap monkey (DDO), do not pull aggro from the tank, and never ever out run your healer. I was doing KDY on my new tank. Now tanking is not something I have normally done so this is a foray into a new arena. Healing and especially dps are more what I aim for in a toon. I load in and get matched with a mara, sniper and a merc. I am on my Jugg so I think balanced team. First few fights go well with no deaths and then I get the remark from the healer " you know how to use guard?" Hmmmm, yeah. You need to guard me. I am thinking no I really don't. But we are out of combat for a few so I obliged until we got to the next mob and I switched it back to the mara. Now the merc was evidently not paying that much attention to it as he didn't initially say anything. I pulled right and suddenly we started to wipe out. I am like wth???? We three go down in a blaze of glory and I notice the healer is no where to be found. He decided I guess since he was guarded he could go ahead and pull left and got mauled. He starts ************ about my tanking and how I don't know what I am doing. Ok, well find someone who does this is enough torture for me today. Some of these people amaze me they have enough brain cells to even turn on the computer.

That is a possibility. I think it unlikely with 56% of KDY and only 8% of about everything else. I have randomly started looking at some of my guildmates and I am finding more and more people who are rapid leveling through KDY. And most if not all are on their first toons. I mean is there some big sign somewhere that says "Hey!! Easy XP!! Fast grind right here!!"? I have made a few runs and it gives me a headache. No structure to it. Just basically a smash and grab.

I guess since I had the highest level toon I was supposed to carry them. My back is bad and I only carry so far. I am just waiting on running into the sorc again. I know it will happen. We run in the same circle so to speak. I think I am going to volunteer to run with a friend of his who keeps asking me to run KDY with her just so I can see what she has achievement wise. She has at least one 55 toon and a legacy level of 9. Now I am not sure how that works but when she said it the other day I did the Scott from Family Guy "Whaaaaaaaaaattttt?"

Which would work well if they knew what they were doing. It became fast obvious that they had no idea how to gear now play their toons. And since I wasn't the group leader I couldn't re queue for a tank. The group leader did not queue us for a tank. It was really a gimped run. And seeing how their toons were leveled I believe I understand why. No one was spec'd DPS.

Not so much a group finder as a group I was drug into that was already queued. (Long story) So here was a HM BT run. Level 53 merc, level 50 sith sorc, myself a lvl 55 merc and suddenly no tank. The SS says no problem we will use your Skadge. He says this is cake. I am like ok, these two have run together before so I imagine they have some idea what is going on. We walked through the starting trash mobs fairly easy except the SS dies. He *****es at me over my heals. I am not the best healer in the world true but still I didn't think he should have went down that fast. Make it to the bridge with me throwing kolto everywhere just to be safe. Now comes the first boss. Piece of cake right. No. We wiped big as can be. More ************. I am like something isn't right. My average gear level is 156. I don't typically do HM FPs or OPs so I am thinking man I am really screwing this up for these guys. Second time through I was last man standing, we wipe. Now wait a minute! Something is not right. I inspect them both. Average gear level of 108 and 112. I am thinking holy hell. No wonder the SS is getting two to three hit kills. These guys are way under geared. Then I think wait a second. I look at their achievements. Guess where they have spent all their time. KDY. Few other FPs done. Decent amount of pvp. But dear god KDY has been smoking for them. Now I have know these two for a little while and they seemed to have some clue prior to this run. So fifth time through I get yelled out for putting Skadge in a combat stance because of the damage. Last man standing I clear the boss. I don't say anything. I just let the comments roll off. We head over in the shuttle and start hitting the trash mobs. Second group I get the you really suck as a healer comment. I stewed for a few and then dropped. Like I said I am not the best healer. I am not the best player by far. But how can you expect to do a HM that far under geared.

I know that there is plenty of PvE and PvP guilds. But are there any light to medium RP guilds on the Shadowlands? I want to see if I can find something causal. I enjoy all aspects of this game and want to move back into that arena some.
