  1. What I've found works is to use your Legacy as your Last Name, and your Character Name as your first name. For example, my character is named Velliti, and my Legacy name is Deathstalker, so my nameplate says Velliti Deathstalker. It locks the last name as your Legacy name, but gives your character a full name.
  2. The specific option is called 'Unify Color', and sets your armor's color scheme to match up with your chest piece. Unfortunately, the option is only available to subscribers unless you buy it on the Cartel Market.
  3. Not a problem. You at least made sure that the OP understood 100% what to do in that situation, so it was a helpful misunderstanding.
  4. It was mostly a tongue-in-cheek thing, but I was imagining that if you were to actually do that, you'd just run circles around, say, the Tank himself.
  5. Rule of 5: at the beginning of any fight, if you aren't the Tank, let him move forward first. From the time that the enemies see him and move to engage him, wait 5 seconds. Once those 5 seconds have passed, you can start laying into enemies. At that point, if the Tank has done his job, and continues to do his job, he will have enough of a head start in the Threat department that you won't be able to catch up to him. However, if at any point an enemy should turn and start attacking you, either use whatever abilities you have that drop Threat (from the sound of it, Combat Stealth is one you can use), or, if you have no abilities that do so, stop attacking and run around like a chicken with it's head cut off until the Tank can get Threat back. Hopefully, that will solve any problems before they happen in the future.
  6. Gear that can take mods often comes with those mod slots filled. It's likely that the weapon you are using came with the +6 Power Crystal. I don't know if stats can be added to an existing crystal, or if you have to get one with the stats you want. However, to modify an item, all you need to do is hover your mouse over an item, hold CTRL, and Right Click your mouse. This will bring up the Field Modification interface. Right Click on the existing Color Crystal to remove it, then drag the new Crystal into that slot. Click 'Apply', and you're done. There is no need whatsoever to use the GTN to perform a simple Field Modification. The GTN can be ised to get materials for modification, but it's not involved in the actual modification process itself.
  7. If you're Level 7 and don't have 400 Credits to get a Training Saber from Kalikori Vliiage (something I'm having trouble wrapping my head around), then you have two primary choices. First, explain what happened in the General Chat, and ask if anyone has an extra one they don't want. Second, reroll your character. Rerolling doesn't hurt too badly since you're such a low level; just make sure you don't lose your weapon again.
  8. It's not really nice; just functional. It's certainly better than no speeder at all, especially since I don't have the Rocket Pack.
  9. Cool. Then in the case of the speeder, it's worth the 60 CC, as it will speed up my movement speed drastically.
  10. I have a Speeder I picked up through a pack on Character 1. I can unlock it for Character 2 for 60 CC. If I do this, will Character 3 be able to get the speeder for free, or would they also have to pay 60 CC?
  11. The gains from Slicing aren't very big money-wise, from what I've seen, so I'm assuming that you were just picking up the raw materials, then turning around and selling them. Is that right? I've been keeping raw materials, since I don't know what I'll need for crafting later, but if the materials bring in that kind of money, then I may just worry about getting materials when I get to a higher level and start looking at actually making and upgrading my gear.
  12. I actually went Cybertech instead of Slicing, since it lets you create Armoring (which is used by pretty much all armor pieces, I think) and Mods (which is used by just about everything, including weapons). The plan is to work the Cybertech skill up and reverse engineer everything I craft to try to get better blueprints, then reverse engineer those, and so on. My hope is to be able to keep at least my Armoring and Mods current on any orange gear I happen to pick up (though I won't be making that a priority anymore). Interestingly enough, part of the reason I'm looking to get a steady income is so I can keep sending companions on Scavenging and Underworld Trading missions, as that's the only way I've been able to get materials for Cybertech Crafting. The missions themselves don't cost much, but because I'm Reverse Engineering everything instead of selling it, it's a constant drain on my finances, so I will eventually run out of money. Heck, I don't even know how I'm ever going to afford the 35,000 fee for Speeder Piloting at Level 15.
  13. I'm doing every sidequest I see, and looting everything, but I didn't realize that Planetary Commendations were so important, so I've been passing them by. I may need to restart my Sentinel again to make sure I start picking those up. From the sound of it, I can just take any and all Planetary Commendations I see, and when I get enough to buy gear in shops, pick up whatever is best for my class. As for Orange gear, I should leave it until higher levels, unless I get handed one as quest reward (that doesn't have Planetary Commendations as an alternate choice), in which case I can go ahead and use it as long as I can keep upgrading the mods for it. Is this correct? As for buying the gear, should I do all my purchases from the Fleet, or is it better to stick with Specialty Vendors on planets?
  14. My understanding is that, in order to keep your gear current, you need to get a full set of orange gear, and every so often, you upgrade the mods to your current level via GTN. However, the prices on the GTN are exorbitant, to the point that you can never actually afford to do this via normal solo play. How am I supposed to make the money needed to keep my gear current, when the missions I'm doing give crap money? And keep in mind that I don't enjoy PvP, and it often takes forever to find a group, so Flashpoints and Warzones aren't really a viable way to pull this off for me.
  15. I'm at Level 19 (nearly Level 20), and I'm starting to feel like my Combat Rotation isn't anywhere near optimal. I'd like help improving it. Unfortunately, I have no idea which abilities are useful, and which ones are dead weight. If anyone can help me, that would be great. My current rotation is this: 1. Force Leap 2. Zealous Strike 3. Slash until out of Focus 4. Strike to build Focus, use Slash when I have 3 or more. 5. Zealous Strike to build more focus 6. Repeat 3-6 I'm sure that I can do better, but as I said: I have no idea what abilities are good for what situations. This is the full list of abilities that I have: Jedi Knight Abilities Blade Storm Force Kick Force Leap Force Sweep Master Strike Resolute Riposte Saber Ward Shii-Cho Form Slash Strike Jedi Sentinel Abilities Cauterize Crippling Throw Juyo Form Leg Slash Rebuke Zealous Strike Zen My skill tree currently looks like this. I'm nearly to Level 20, at which point I will pick up Ataru form and likely make it my main Stance. I'll probably spend the next 4 levels picking up Opportune Attack and Ataru Mastery. Is there any advice anyone can offer?
  16. I did some basic poking around before starting characters to get an idea what I wanted to do, and finding that the Jedi Sentinel was primarily damage-based made it the obvious choice for an offensively-minded person such as myself. However, I'm a bit lost on the skill trees of the class, and most of the guides here are a bit over my head, so I want to get some advice. I've currently invested in the Combat tree, and my basic battle strategy looks like this: 1. Force Leap to get into the fray and build 3 Focus. 2. Zealous Strike to build an additional 6 Focus, putting me at 9. 3. Slash until I run out of Focus 4. At this point, Zealous Strike is generally still on CD, so I use Strike until it's ready to go. 5. Repeat Steps 2-4 until all enemies are dead. Now, I'm only at Level 17, so I'm nowhere near end-game. However, I like to figure out where I"m going, and I currently have no idea. My current skill allocation looks like this. I have no idea if I've made decent choices, or what skills I want to watch out for and make sure to pick up later, or what an optimal Combat Rotation would be, either for now or for end-game. I also hear a lot of stuff about stacking AIM (which I understand the point of), but everything I'm finding is all Strength and Endurance, so I've got boosts to Damage and Health, but can't hit very well. I realize the advice I'm going to be getting will be geared for end-game, which I'm not at, but can anyone give me any insight into making a decent character as I work towards end-game? Also, I'm primarily playing PvE, but I'd like to be able to break into PvP later without having to completely respec. I know I won't be as optimal as I would be with a full respec, but I don't plan on going full PvP anytime soon. When the time comes to go full PvP, then yes, a full respec will be done. However, for now, I want to be able to jump between PvP and PvE without having to find a respec station. Also, where do you respec? I suspect I need to make some changes to my character, but can't remember where to respec at. I'd just check the tutorial in-game, but I'm actually getting ready to leave to run some errands, and while I"ll have a smartphone that can get at the web, I won't have access to the game for a few hours. Finally, I apologize for asking for so much; I prefer to have a much better grasp of any character I play than I currently do on this character, and it bothers me. I really do appreciate any advice anyone has.
