If server transfers weren't costly EA/BW would have to have a large staff doing nothing but moving characters around. What we pay helps defray their labor costs a bit, but it primarily keeps the number of requests manageable. Also, you titled your post poorly. It sounds whiny. This is no different than if a few of your RL friends were going out for beer and wings and you had to bow out because you were broke. You wouldn't blame Jimmy's Pub for that, would you?

If there's only one the seller probably has several and plans for the next person to undercut by 30% or more. So the seller sets a ludicrous price (1.5m) and waits. Next person (you) comes along and lists theirs for 1m. Original seller lists his other ones for half your price (but stll waaaaay over previous market value). Buyer comes along and sees 5 of these for sale, priced from 1.5m down to 500k. Buyer (clueless) buys 500k item and thinks he has a great deal!

MK-6. It seemed the best compromise with what I could afford and the benefits.

So I dinged 48 yesterday and popped up to the fleet to visit the GTN and upgrade my lightsabers (yay!). Wasn't a problem, I had almost 1,000,000 credits saved up. While I was looking at my gear I reminded myself to look into what an "augment" is (I have one piece of gear I got from the GTN with an augment slot). Tab out, google "SWTOR augments". Whaaaat?!?? I can buy some doohickeys on the GTN, wander over to a machine and add augment slots to all my gear??? Well, that explains why I had so much coin in my account..... Down to 300k now but sporting fully augmented gear
