  1. I could not agree more. This game is fantastic, great, and I'm glad more people are going to be enjoying it, but the forums should be for paying people only!! Maybe access to support or something.
  2. THey have no idea how to improve the game? They said this in an earnings call... "EA First, the game many of you have been tracking closely, Star Wars: The Old Republic. Although it launched well, subscriptions have been on a declining trajectory and have now slipped below one million. Last year we announced that the breakeven point was roughly 500,000 subscribers. And while we are well above that today, that’s not good enough. The message from players exiting the game is clear – 40 percent say they were turned off by the monthly subscription. And many indicated they would come back if we offered a free-to-play model. Our plan now is to pivot and provide a two-tiered pricing plan which will make the game more accessible and grow the audience. The new pricing will go into effect in November." If I were EA and I was told such I would go for a price reduction too. THis game couldn't survive on a p2p, not now anyway.
  3. OP... you're summery of what EA said is poorly made. 40% of exiting players said they were turned off by the monthly sub... so maybe they should do something to fix that? I would have gone for a price reduction... but if they want to go all the way to f2p its up to them.
  4. I decided a while back that I was going to hold on to hope until the bitter end with swtor... I had just resubbed and having tons of fun but I knew swtor was bleeding subs and all my friends were freaking me out about the game being shut down... I had originally thought an f2p model or at least some form of cash shop to bring in funds for SWTOR would save the game. Logging in today and seeing this is all actually happening... I'm unsure whether this is a good or a bad sign... but I'm leaning towards good? While I can't explain how making an MMO f2p saved the game, it's certainly worked wonders for Guild Wars and DDO, didn't it? There's plenty of people who hate both those games... but there's an equal amount of people who really like 'em a lot especially with Guild Wars. I'm assuming people still have to purchase the main game, but I've no clue (that's what I'd do anyway). I think SWTOR is a fantastic game... and I think this is a really good step before it's too late. If anything I don't think SWTOR could continue with the p2p model when it was basically bleeding subs right? This all seems like the solution of better options that BioWare/EA had. I'm not trying to come across like I have all the answers, or that my thoughts are better than others, or that I even know what I'm talking about. I just don't want this game to die. What do you guys think? If you can, leave really crazy, unwanted gloom and doom somewhere else?
  5. Duuude.... Duuude... I'd never delete my characters to break addiction. Then I've got nothing to show for anything. It might be different because I'm on an RP server and all those toons are intertwined into story and all, but man that's really extreme. Hope you get better man, good luck to you!
  6. Servers came back up. Let's have some fun!
  7. OH MY GOD it's like the freakin Twilight Zone. Turn of the servers of TOR suddenly and everyone goes ballistic. SIT and FREAKIN' wait for the servers to come back up. Nothing was permanently ruined right? Or hardly ruined at all? Jeez...
  8. I say OK to micro-transactions as long as you can't buy anything AT ALL that effects actual gameplay. If they have a bunch of cool social gear, mounts, pets, or starships then I'd be ok with that. I'm only scared of micro-transactions when people can just buy their way to the top. But SWTOR isn't even a year old yet guys. Let em stabilize the game. SWTOR may prove to be a sleeping giant yet.
  9. It might be something wrong with your build or rotation. I'm level 34 now with my assassin and I've been kinda throwing him at people, (with poor results) and then this guy stopped me, a day or so ago, and showed me that I was missing vital skills in my rotation and my skill tree was all screwed up and didn't match my playstyle. Now I'm doing alot better and don't feel too weak. I've yet to retry pvp. But hang in there! Check outs some builds online and see if they kinda sound like what you wanna do.
  10. It's simple really, but I was wondering if we Assassins would ever get cool chest pieces with capes like those of the Sith Warrior Armor. The hood and skirt combo is getting really boring. Are there any capes or cloaks out there?
  11. Apart from being a central hub for the Guild, the Guild Ship could have: -Hanger Bays for class ships -A shuttle to take groups to Operations/Warzones/ect -A guild bank station with regular cargo hold access -An asteroid mining minigame Ok... joking with the last one, but guild ships would be cool. Especially so if Guild Ships could fight each other ala Battlefront II space combat, or with a "boarding party" style warzone that focuses on capturing key posts ala Arathi Basin from WoW. A while ago Bioware devs mentioned an interest in multiplayer space combat. What if it involved guild ships? Or Player ships flying out to engage enemy craft to defend their guild ship? I'm not asking a miracle out of SWTOR 's engine... because that would be nuts, but the idea of a guild ship is definitely something I hope the devs consider
  12. It's not like that at all though. This has nothing to do with being lazy on our part, it's like asking for a clean water supply at a campsite, but the camp warden has the well built a half-mile from the camp and charges you for bottles to put it in. Why couldn't he have just built a public water fountain in the middle of the camp if he had those funds anyway? Calling something into question that shouldn't be so complicated considering the end result isn't lazy. We just want to change the appearance of our characters without spending thousands of credits... how is that asking much at all?
  13. TERA and other korean mmos have a secondary armor page for all social gear and you just check a box if you want your social gear showing over your actual armor. That sounds really simple... so why can't BioWare do that? When I heard the announcement for adaptive gear I assumed that's what they meant...
