  1. So I've been noticing whenever I use shock on my sorc, not once have I seen the lightning connect to the target. This is annoying mainly because every other single lightning related attack I use (besides thundering blast obviously) has a clearly shown connection of lightning from the player to the target. Is the shock animation supposed to not connect or is it bugged? I see the lightning flash from my sorc's hand but never see it travel to the target.
  2. I've heard from two people now that they didn't like PVP at first but later they came to like it so I was thinking about doing pvp. I'm a little nervous though as this would be my first experience in PVP. I'm also a little skeptical about it cause people always find ways to cheat and there is always something going wrong with the PVP. So... Thoughts? Thanks!
  3. Agreed. Dulfy is a huge help for me. Would definitely recommend it to the newer players.
  4. Here are some quick tips I picked up (through experience) leveling my first character. If you want to ask a question in general chat, be prepared for most of the people to answer sarcastically. Some people are in fact very arrogant and say "how do you not know that" or something like that without even answering. The "New Player Help" section of the forums could provide some answers. Usually the few helpful ones in general chat will whisper you but some will reply in general chat. Like everyone else said, don't reply to them, you're just going to start a giant argument with them. /ignore is your best friend. Don't freak out if you don't understand something. There is almost always an answer or you will figure it out yourself. It won't be long before you know how the game generally works. If you're getting a deluge of people attacking you, you can click "Other" in chat to see the NPC dialogue or just turn off chat entirely by clicking the triangle by the social center. Most of the time it may be better to look something up on the forums/google since most people will be obnoxious. I hope all this helped. There are always one or two people that will give you legitimate answers. If you ignore the people that try to bring you down, this game will be a lot of fun. Most people in the game are usually very friendly with you or at least not obnoxious. The game is definitely worth playing.
  5. So sometimes while I'm fighting I hear "AAAAHH" and I think it's from a sent/Mara but I'm not sure, can someone clarify why I hear screaming during fights, it sounds like a loud infuriated scream and I would like to know where it comes from, so maybe my mara can be screaming his way through fights in the future.
  6. So like the title says I think MM is bugged. I've seen the double turbulence attacks more than enough times, however, I have never seen mind crush tick twice. Is it supposed to literally have a dot time of 2 seconds? Or am I misinterpreting this? It could be cause the chance is only 30% but I think it is bugged as I should have seen it by now.
  7. So I was just browsing these forums as usual then I closed them and clicked on the game to open it, and, no joke, this is what I see: http://i.imgur.com/xbN9jLN.jpg?1 Now, however, the game is back to normal. What the heck was that?
  8. My first character was a sage so naturally I've been wanting to use this since I first saw it (I think finishing Alderaan) and I would love to be able to use the ability, just because it looks so cool. Maybe they could change Legacy Project to Legacy Project Storm. I would not be mad at all about that.
  9. Thank you guys for all the responses, I thought of another question, does the sound you occasionally hear happen with the cool spin or does it have a separate chance to play?
  10. So sometimes when I finish off an enemy with SS my shadow does this little spin before he hits, or sometimes he thrusts his lightsaber forward and it looks really cool, what exactly does it mean if he does a cool move before the hit? Is it a critical? I would like to know why my shadow is occasionally doing these stylish kills.
  11. This was so much fun. I loved seeing the imps run in fear as we stormed the spaceport. I took some pics as well. They are way too big, gonna resize them http://i.imgur.com/I1rji5l.jpg?2 http://i.imgur.com/O6XRovx.jpg?2 http://i.imgur.com/E1lNruT.jpg?2 http://i.imgur.com/HVNjv4Q.jpg?2 http://i.imgur.com/MVX0dD9.jpg?2
  12. Black hole and Section X. Doing both in my experience is the fastest way I have ever gotten credits. Also, I'm fairly confident there is an option for this game to have a toolbar for each spec. You can play with the UI a bunch and fix up your keybinds for optimal healing, and once you have it to a fitting arrangement, go into the UI and you can save the arrangement and name it "Heals" or something like that, the same applies with TK. I personally don't think I can switch to balance/seer because I've put so much time into TK and honed my skill in it, so now I'm a really great TK dps, so I myself couldn't switch if I wanted to, I'm too used to this spec!
  13. I personally really like the big flashy effect that pops up on my sage because it's easier to notice in the thick of a fight so you aren't constantly eyeing your buffs bar for it to pop up. I wish we had a more visual effect for psychic projection because I have to keep checking for the proc, whereas on my sorc I can see the little lightning flush every time I get it. I would like it to stay as it is, or possibly change to something more subtle, but I wouldn't want the visual aspect to go away completely.
  14. So shadow tank looks pretty fun to me but I have some questions about it. So I've heard a little about self heals, how many of those do we get? When I'm low on force do I use SS till my force is about 75%? Is double strike helpful as you level? I've been with some shadow tanks before and I've seen some of their openers. Is the single target opener project and the mob opener Slow Time and before you get that force breach? When should I use phase walk and why would I use in PvE for anything other than the heal boost? How should I manage my force until I train more force management? Project takes a ton of my force to use.
  15. Good to know I got so many positive responses to this, I'm definitely feeling the love :/ You are correct on the fact that I am pleased with this game but no, I'm not trying to fit in with anyone on the forum, considering a social hierarchy even exists here, I am simply stating something I found on this forum that I found to be thought provoking. I would appreciate if you weren't as speculative about me. No, because I care about every ornate detail about this website and I care about every little thing with a passion. Yes I'm being sarcastic! From my experience with the Internet, there will be people who will never run out of things to complain about. I wasn't complaining, just posting something I saw on the forums that I found to be interesting. Instead of being so scathing towards me, if you have negative opinions about my choices on this thread, can you please just keep it to yourself or make a thread and vent it out there? Nobody is forcing you to post on this thread.
  16. Am I the only one that has noticed that this: Is represented by THIS code? It attributes lightning to the consular! As a person with a sage as my main, I am deeply insulted by this. Anyone else have thoughts on this? *edit* This reminds me of the group finder issue where some of the classes and their corresponding colors are switched. For example guardian=purple sent. symbol and vise versa and sith sorc. symbol is bright blue.
  17. This is probably the most inspirational music I have ever heard. I obviously won't fight them (having 0 PvP experience I'll get my *** handed to me on a silver platter) but maybe the people more interested in fighting them should play that music while defending our base. "We" have tried to resist them before, but only completely pushed them out once from what I've seen. Any other time they have gotten sorely beaten down by the imps.
  18. Almost every time I quick travel to the Camp Overlook (the base) I see numerous imps standing in it or engaged in fights with people who decided to fight them. It's a little aggravating that it was so poorly designed. They come through the back to avoid all the champions in the front. This obviously doesn't happen in BH because the two turrets guarding the sole entrance cannot be defeated. One player proposed an electric wall surrounding the base. That sounds reasonable but we'd have to make a way to get out/in which would just let the imps in again. I was thinking we could just fortify the back entrance more with undefeatable turrets, hehe. Seeing as I never flag myself for PvP, I've never personally been attacked by them. However it's a little disconcerting to see them walking around our base like they own it and spawn killing all the people trying to leave that are flagged. I'm sure it's more of an issue for others, but for me it's still pretty annoying. To be fair I think we should do this to the imperial base too so that we don't end up the same as before. Not a pressing issue at the moment for me but it's still annoying. Am I the only one who thinks this?
  19. I was a little curious about some of the relics. Currently I'm using damage relics that apply their effect automatically. I was wondering if a debuff is supposed to show on the enemy when the extra damage procs, because I have never seen anything from my relics, but I have seen the automatic healing relics work just fine. I was wondering if I was just having bad luck with the proc or if it is bugged and not showing as a debuff. Also feel free to move this thread, I didn't really find any place to put it other than the general discussion.
  20. I can kind of imagine that. I've heard a couple witty/sarcastic lines from him, but I myself have not progressed a smuggler very far. Seriously. He's level 2. I've just gotten so obsessed over my sith inquisitor recently and now I can't stop playing him. I already leveled my knight (then guardian tank) to 55 and I loved the whole thing, now my inquisitor is 10x more fun just cause I shock/kill anyone who gets in my way, it's fun not being the super nice person anymore, and as my dark side builds up I'm getting more markings on my face. I just can't stop playing him right now. So much lightning! Anyways, I trained my smuggler to 2 then I basically quit him, but I might progress him later, any advice on smuggler ac's?
  21. Having my main as a sage, I can give descriptions of each sage tree. Here goes. Seer-This tree is all about healing. At the beginning it doesn't provide many benefits to healing, but as you go farther up the tree your heals become better and better. As some added bonuses, you get a minor heal every second when you use force armor, you get 3 abilities instead of 2, and your self heal is much more powerful as a seer, providing survivability for both yourself and others. Telekinetics (my current spec)-This tree is almost entirely burst damage. Telekinetics sages can do great damage in less time, and are good for PvE since you remain stationary almost the entire battle unless you are forced to move. Their rotations are much more complicated but aren't hard to get accustomed to. There is also a talent that makes your next two hits cost 75% less force for every critical you get, which results in almost no force consumption, which is useful especially for bosses. Almost the entire rotation relies on procs. Great for flashpoints and ops, but can steal threat if you aren't careful. My favorite thing about this tree is that the last ability you learn, Turbulence, criticals on every target you use weaken mind on. Balance- This tree is almost entirely DoT. Only one attack that is single hit. However almost every attack is instant cast so you have constant mobility. You also get minor healing from critical hits when specced right. One downside about this spec is you can run out force if you don't manage it. One obvious advantage is that you can apply everything in the start and just watch all the damage stack on. I've played each tree so I have pretty extensive knowledge of each. If you see anything I missed or something stupid I said in the descriptions etc. feel free to mention it. That's my knowledge of each tree.
  22. I don't remember what quest exactly this was for, but I know it was on Ilum. The main general person told me to get back out there, and the choice I chose was "Back to freezing our... toes." And I wasn't really expecting much, and then I hear something like "Do you know how cold it is out there?! I have frostbite.... in a place you DON'T want to get frostbite!" And I just sat there for a second and I put my head face down and proceeded to laugh to the point where I couldn't breathe for about 5 years. I look forward to this on every Republic character I make. *off topic* Also, this is my first post on these forums but I have a general understanding of how forums work. Only question I have is what does it mean to parse a link? *end off topic* The dialogue was so unexpected and I just couldn't stop laughing, especially cause the first time I heard it was on my consular main, and he's supposed to be all Jedi way is to serve n the force is with me n other stuff, so he's all sophisticated then he says this. It was just too good!
