  1. Has this been fixed in 2.10? Even thought you won't get a direct response I have seen things fixed that I have reported as bugs in game. I encourage you to make an in game bug report if you have not.
  2. There would obviously be a decoration limit the same as the hook limit. One can very quickly max out with hooks assuming they have enough decorations. A free placement system isn't going to allow them more decorations. They say turnabout is fair play.
  3. You sir are putting words in his mouth. He clearly presented a system that involved both hooks and free placement. It makes perfect sense but you don't understand that so I guess I have to explain it to you. It's easier for some people to work within a limited framework and the hooks gives them a good launch pad for their creativity. When they a presented with a system that is too open they're creativity is stifled. Other people have a more free form thought process and they find the hooks extremely limiting to their creativity. Having a hybrid system would allow more people to enjoy their strongholds. You see, unlike you I can see things from multiple points of view. Also the devs didn't say hooks were better. They admitted plainly that it was a compromise.
  4. Caps are usually in place to save players from themselves and their obsessive behaviors.
  5. Hoping not serious. It gives you more options. The hook system is extremely limiting even from extreme neatnick standards. Placing the head of a bed against a wall in the middle of the wall is a pretty standard thing people do in real life but is impossible in many locations. Also there are huge areas where there are no hooks. I don't think he means in 3D as in placing things in mid air. He seems to be describing the system in DCUO. After you place a certain number of item you unlock free placement, but it's planar free placement. Every item is restricted to the floor, walls or ceiling but you can place it almost anywhere on those that you like. Since strongholds have all these built in columns and such in the walls it might need to be restricted to the zones we have now. I don't see why they couldn't open up each zone that currently has hooks as a free placement plane. The current limit on hook usage would have to be converted to a limit on number of items.
  6. What does it say when you go back the seller and look at the item? Does it show that you have one? Another patch is coming down in the morning.
  7. I think there is a chance for it drop from any mob on the particular planet, just more chance from stronger mobs such as those usually related to heroics. I have had them drop from mobs not related to heroics at all. I believe you can just go to a heroic area and farm the mobs but the reason to take the mission is because many of them reward a box that has a chance to have the datacron decoration.
  8. You propose that a company that has the level of trouble that BW has when releasing new content should just give up and move on? It's amazing MMOs last as long as they do. Blizzard should have moved on after the first week!
  9. Actually his argument is factual unlike yours. The only solo content in this game are the original space battles. The class storylines are soloable but they are designed for group play. There has to be content that can be soloed or else people will just turn off the game as soon as they can't find a group, and starting out solo can lead to finding a group. The fact is this is an MMO. It is designed around players playing together. You are brainless if you don't understand that. An no BW doe not hat solo players. They have made entire games designed primarily for solo play. Perhaps you have heard of some them?
  10. Yet strangely people are drawn, people are staying and the game is still going. Your use of Black Talon is humorous as if there was some sort of steady decline in story content from there until Mannan. Black Talon and Eseless are special cases. First of all they are the only 2 player flashpoints. Yes you get 4 when you queue but they are designed for 2 players of any role. The mission says "Group 2". They are meant to be inserted directly into your character's storyline. Though they are skip-able and can be done at any time, they happen on your first journey from your faction starbase to your faction capitol. Most other flashpoint do not happen at such a specific point. They are an introduction to group play and flashpoints. The conversation system in SWTOR is one of the more unique parts of this game and might be a little confusing to new players and so these flashpoints give you a healthy dose of it in a group context which one might have missed if they soloed through their starter planet. So compare BT and Eseless to Hammer Station. There is a sudden drop in story content but it stays pretty consistent, but I see a steady increase, through to Mannan. Large portions of the stories are told outside the actual FPs once you get past BT and Eseless, but Mannan has come a long way from Hammer Station.
  11. First it's not intended that you buy a flagship. It's meant for a group of people to work together toward, like a guild perhaps? Why is it taking you 2 months to make 1mil? What are you doing with your time? What level are you? If you don't have much time to play you really don't have time to put into conquering a planet, especially if you plan to do it solo. Doing level 55 dailies you should be able to make a million in a few days of pretty casual play.
  12. I haven't bought one yet cause I'm waiting to find out if it was fixed. Today though someone on fleet general chat was saying that even though it shows up as 0/0 the item can still be placed in a stronghold. I assume you would have to select "show all" and find it in the list. Maybe those of you who purchased it could try it out.
  13. What is wrong with "holding it hostage"? They essentially hold credits "hostage" in escrow now. You go over your limit the credits got into escrow which you can't get unless you pay up. Are you saying you have a problem with that system? If you do then you should be petitioning to change it not posting here where you can't articulate any problem. There have been three solutions proposed for when someone goes from Sub to Preferred: 1. All credits get dumped on one character. Any money over the limit would of course go into that character's escrow. 2. Credits get split evenly between all characters on legacy. Any credits over the limit would of course go into escrow of character's that went over. 3. A special legacy escrow account is created. Only credits from legacy bank go into and thus it would not grow while the play is in preferred status. The account is either frozen until the player subs or there is an option to purchase money out of it just like the current system. There is also: 4. The money disappears into the nether. None of those solutions allow the free exchange of credits between characters on a preferred account. No it does not bypass the restriction. The splitting is a one time thing that happens as part of changing status and is not under player control. The escrow requires a payment.
  14. I methodically went through all my achieves and reputations, it took a while.
  15. I know you can get a stronghold as early as 14 but you can't take the mission. Even though the mission tells you to purchase a stronghold it's not actually a requirement of finishing the quest, just traveling to it is. I would guess that you can't get one till at least 10 but not sure.
  16. I always wondered why travel is restricted in space ports. So often I land on a planet and just want to QT to a location but I can't. It probably got past testing because everyone used the one at the fleet.
  17. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=759401 The 2nd post from Tait indicates that you should open a CS ticket (not a bug report) if you haven't since 2.9b. I guess they are handling cases personally but I haven't had mine fixed yet. I would check all your legacy titles, I was missing at least 11. There is also a 2.9c patch coming down tomorrow.
  18. Well you can place droid companions and pets, and there are the 3 vendors. Unfortunately they all count against the NPC limit. It would be nice to have some that didn't.
  19. Tough break. We know exactly where ours is but our stupid GM locked the keys in it! jk First, to eliminate the obvious: You guys know where it's supposed to be? In the strongholds window, in the guild section (right below personal in the upper left), with the guild stronghold if you have one. Second, I would post this in customer service. It's probably isolated data corruption rather than a bug, unless it turns out to be more widespread.
  20. Update: I went ahead and purchased the Rendili Watchman on another character and it was not unlocked as a decoration for that character either.
  21. Do you mean there are no conquest objectives on Hoth? There are also none on Corellia, which is also open for conquest.
  22. Use to be there was no way to access escrow without subscribing. If they create a legacy escrow they can allow you to access the same you can access the character escrow. It's funny how your complaint suggested it's own solution.
  23. I believe the word is "clusterfrell" I compromise. I've been legitimately trying to decorate Nar Shadaa but Coruacant and DK are used for "storage". I just throw everything I don't use in them to buff my points for conquest. I also don't list those two publicly. I'll get around to decorating them too someday.
  24. Even if you have Nar Shadaa unlocked from subbing you still have to purchase it, for zero credits.
