  1. This is the same problem I am having, patch went fine and everything looks normal but then the game doesn't launch?
  2. Disregard, it appears when I first arrived at the mission area everything was picked clean. Quite a few people around but I have now found the item you need. If anyone else is lost there is some salvage called "Pirate Salvage" that is initially what I was trying to pick up but that is not what you want the item you are after is simply called "Salvage"
  3. Anyone finished the little boss recruit quest? I just picked up the mission and I am at the spot on the map that is indicated as the quest area but I can't seem to find anything to pick up.... basically just running around in circles around the area highlighted aimlessly.
  4. Just made my first agent and was wondering if I should go operative or sniper and why? I will be playing dps thank you for the feedback and guidance in advance.
  5. Honestly when it comes down to it If we take away what I want or what you want or even what anyone wants the biggest problem I have with this personally is that a simple solution to all of this could be made. New packs have two items plus a chance for an additional drop that is a cube. Or perhaps this would bring the value of the pack out of balance... I would even be fine with one new item and the second item either being a new item or a cube. This covers everyone people who want new items, people who want old items, and people like me who want both. Rarely do you have a chance to please everyone and the opportunity is right in front of them.
  6. Ya I admit fault in not first proposing that people not spend on cartel coins. Thank you for that clarification I was just curious.

  8. Could you elaborate on what you mean by "EA's business model" look like I have said in the past I am all for spending money on the game I want the game to do well, and I myself enjoy opening the packs for a different reason than you in that I don't have everything that comes from them. But I think you are in the minority I can't say it as fact but just by observation it appears that the majority of people want new items from packs not old items they already have.
  9. Hope you guys get some good pulls in the packs, I will be watching to see how frequent these cubes appear and what the contents inside tend to be. Thanks for the feedback.
  10. Like I stated before it is your hard earned money and I can't tell you how to spend it. Hopefully you get some good pulls. Thanks for the feedback.
  11. I understand where you are coming from but if this was implemented it would result in a complete overhaul of the cartel market interface. This would take time and time is money so I am not sure how feasible your idea is but it's not a bad suggestion. Thanks for the feedback.
  12. This is a good point, ya I am not much of a complainer... pretty ho hum normal dude who enjoys video games and I can take a lot of things happening and just say "oh well changes happen" but this to me didn't jive well and apparently that is the consensus among others.
  13. Ya I just recently came back to the game which is what told the person who wrote this but you make an interesting point I do play the game quite a bit. Also side note total newb question here how do I change my forum picture next to the posts I make?
  14. No that is not my complaint. I won't insult your intelligence by saying you didn't read my original post but if you go back and read it again I think you will find my original idea was to share my thoughts on the new changes and see how others felt. This is just an open discussion regarding pack changes in 4.1 I have no hidden agenda regarding collectors losing money or value. With that said thank you for your feedback.
  15. You are correct. I honestly don't want to run the well dry because I want the game to do well but something's got to give.
  16. No I am not 2 years old. The point of this is to start a discussion and get an idea of differing opinions. Do you have an opinion on my original point or do you wish to continue playing games?
  17. I know and I meant it in a light hearted way but the feeling remains. I mean I highly doubt anyone over at bioware is scrapping for a bite to eat, sure I know game development isn't cheap and like I said in my original post I ultimately do want them to make money because that insures a game I love continues to be successful. But the distance between community wants this and Bioware focuses on this seems to be so great that times you have to wonder if they listen at all.
  18. You make an interesting point, one I feel I did not clearly address. I suppose I should have been clearer in suggestion people not spend money on extra cartel coins. A hypercrate is 5400 coins or 9 months worth of saving if you have a security key so by saving up for the 9 months you miss out on a lot of hypercrates. If the statistics came in and sales cartel market purchases over a 9 month period were down it might cause concern. So ultimately yes by hoarding your coins you are making a statement but my original concern was the purchase of additional Cartel Coins.
  19. I kind of feel the same way, I mean I absolutely love opening hypercrates it's like a mini game inside the game a bit of a thrill seeing what you get. But I fear nothing is ever going to change while they continue to make money on something. Example : " Couple hundred people are complaining on the forums but we just got the statistics back and we made X amount of dollars so people must love these new changes." Keep in mind these are statistics that we will never see so it is hard to say how many people will still buy something even if they disagree with it which is why I mad this post in the first place. I wouldn't be surprised if they are actually making a killing on the cartel market and lie about sales being down or perhaps there is no deceit intended I mean after all if sales are $1 million one quarter and $999,999.00 the next sales are technically down. Of course I am being a bit cynical there but my main point stands. If people continue buying the lemonade Bioware will keep producing lemons.
  20. My apologies for not being clear enough. Let me try to specify, my main problem with these pack changes are two fold. First, in regards to the cube I think this is ultimately a good addition especially for guys like me who played for awhile when the game first came out then took some time off and came back. I now have a chance to pickup items that I missed out over a span of cartel packs that I have no idea of knowing if and when they will return to the market. However, I disagree with the execution specifically in that there is a chance that you could get two cubes and no new items from the associated cartel pack. This doesn't appear to sit well with those who never took a break like I did and have a majority of the items that the cube could hold. So a simple solution to this would be having it were you still get the two items from the current listed pack + an additional chance at a cube this would please those who buy the packs for new items and guys like me who want new and old items. Furthermore, I have seen multiple posts talking about Cartel Certificates something I myself have wondered about. How do you get them? Will they return? Questions like these that seem to get ignored over and over. I happen to have two of these from old packs I bought off the gtn but you need like 10 of them to buy one item and they seem to be quite rare even in the old packs. I am ok with items being hard to get but eventually the old packs will clear from the market and then what? Hopefully that clears up my position a little bit but if you have any further questions I would be happy to answer them. Thanks, LordKygar
  21. I played the game when it first came out and then took a long break, I have just recently came back to the game and don't really post on the forums at all until now.
  22. Hello everyone I am making this simple post in response to the upcoming pack changes in 4.1, if you are unaware of this issue head over to http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=867752 and read up on it and then come back here. Due to the new changes I myself will not be buying any new packs. I usually buy at least one hypercrate often times two or three from the cartel market and many more from the gtn. However, after initially reading about the new changes and the numerous counts of feedback that seemingly gets ignored I decided to make this post. This is a simple poll to get a more in depth feel of what action people will be taking to get some light shed on these issues. I can't tell you how to spend your hard earned money and in fact I want people to support this game because I like it and want to see it do well but I fear the only way to get the attention of the developers is with our wallets. So if you are in the same boat as me please add a short response on this post as to why you will not be spending anymore money on the cartel market until our voices are heard. Please don't add your name to this list unless you will stick to your guns, often times we talk big on the forums but when that shiny new toy comes out we throw our money at the screen. Let's see what happens if things go from "sales are down" to "sales are $0.00"
