  1. I just recently finished the Jedi Consular storyline. After playing through the romance with Iresso, I learned that he actually has a sith holocron imprinted into his brain. Unless I clicked the wrong options, once you find that out, it doesn't actually go anywhere. This feels like a missed opportunity for what could have been a pretty interesting story. Anyone else feel this way, or have similar experiences?
  2. I made a post about this on another forum, and I think it's relevant here. EDIT: Additionally, there's the Eternal Empire from the Knights of a Fallen Empire expansion, where it's people essentially worship the (force-sensitive) royal family, and are led to believe that force-sensitivity means your the Emperor's chosen and your powers come from worship of them. 3. So I'd like to know which subclass is better for PvE solo play. Basically doing solo class, world, and KOTFE?
  4. I dunno about the consular's robes, but Sith wearing pointy hats is a thing in canon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjQH8a5jdMY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z5cVCfruVFQ
  5. Remember that the empire was completely isolated until it invaded the republic at the start of the trailers. As in, the rest of the Galaxy wasn't aware of the empire until it captured Korriban. Also, the Emperor is essentially revered as a god among his people up until Ziost and they've probably been indoctrinated in it's culture since birth, led to believe that the republic and aliens are the enemy's of a stable society. A comparison could be made to Nazi Germany. For most of the time the Nazi's were in power, the people willfully ignored their atrocities and racism until the cognitive dissonance grew too high or were too intimidated to speak out against them (people were encouraged to tattle on their peers). It's not an out of the blue comparison either. The Galactic Empire and First Order are basically space Nazi's. In regards to the sith and other supporters, a comparison could be made to the Nazi leadership. There were Nazi leaders who did confess that they didn't believe in the whole master race ideology and only went along with it for their career and profit. I'm willing to bet that many sith simply don't care about the empire beyond what it can do for them. They all want power, and only support the system because it's the best path to power available to most of them. Which since the Sith are power-hungry personified, leads to tons of infighting, backstabbing, betrayal and assassination. The implication is that Sith society is only barely holding itself together. In the Book of Sith, Mace Windu actually deconstructs the whole "rule by strength" concept:
  6. So I liked Iokath. It's nice to have some Sci-Fi stuff in starwars, and the entire world is an interesting concept, though I think it was underutilized and too short. I'd love to learn more about it (even the lore wasn't enough). Are there any plans to do something more with it in later installments?
  7. Even better, you later get a letter from the senate telling you that the republic has completely disavowed her, and to do as you wish with her.
  8. The ending of KotET was good, though I think it could have been even better if Thexan's ghost had show up, so we actually get to speak with him in person and he gets to get in on taking down Vitiate as well.
  9. I have several headcannons, mostly based around a fanfic im planning. My Jedi Consular comes from a very low tech planet (like iron age technology at best) and while very strong in the force (all her people are) is almost completely technology illiterate, though it does get better with time. There were unfortunately some sith ruins on her world, prompting the empire to invade the world, taking the people in her hometown captive to experiment on while she was out hunting. When she went after them she was almost killed only to be rescued by a group of Jedi, one of whom she became a padawan to (the jedi knight guardian). She also became friends with another Jedi Knight (a sentinel) around the same age and the two went on several missions together. The sentinel was however dissillusioned with the jedi order (she grew up on narshadaa as a pickpocket/thief before being brought in, and wasn't very strong in the force to begin with, only barely enough to not get reassigned) and actually leaves the order, and becomes a bounty hunter later. The Consular eventually develops a romance with a trooper medic. My Sith Warrior and Sith Inquisitor (sorcerer and main) are "friends". The Sith Warrior comes from a very successful and powerful family of sith (they have a manor/compound on ziost) and she's very skilled even from the beginning, already having a lightsaber and force skills before setting foot on korriban. She met the inquisitor on Korriban and decided to take her under her wing (reluctantly on the inquisitor's part, as the warriors darkside and she becomes light side). The inquisitor sticks around mostly out of fear at first but gradually goes her own way as she gets stronger. She sees the warrior, a complete sociopath and extreme sadist, as everything wrong with the empire. The inquisitor starts out as a reluctant dark side, and then changes to light side (shortly after finding the tomb of the light side sith in the dark temple actually). The inquisitor has the goal of transforming the empire and the sith (she agrees with the philosophy of embracing passions, though not the backstabbing and hatred parts). She develops a romance with ashara actually. The jedi and sith actually meet up and start working together around the time of the dread war, and especially shadow of revan. The inquisitor becomes the outlander, though the other characters do help out (to varying degrees).
  10. As to Vaylin being redeemable, her wanting to be redeemed is irrelevant. With all the psychological damage, it's highly unlikely that she would ever consent to it herself, regardless of whether your in combat or not. The comparison would be a real life crazy person. They're so broken that they're incapable of seeing that their broken, and thus will not seek out any psychological help. They're a danger to themself and others. At that point, were fully justified in locking them away in an psych ward (a good one, not that ******** on nathema) and forcing therapy on them regardless of their consent. Where it gets different is that with a normal person, they can be restrained. Vaylin has the force and is exceptionally strong with it, and is also leading armies in conquest and destruction. So killing her, while unfortunate, is justifiable to even a jedi. She's not beyond redemption, but considering the situation, it would be foolish to try. (For the record, I hope she sticks around as a ghost for a while so you can actually help her get better before passing on).
  11. So do jedi shadow's have project or not? I kinda relied on it for gameplay even as a serenity. Some of the ability descriptions still imply that they do, but I can't find it... If not, what replaces it?
  12. So, I'm playing Sith Warrior and I'm on the quest, The Final Trial. It's bugged in some way. After I defeat vemrin, I'm given 3 options (two to kill him, or one to spare him). No matter which option I pick, the quest bugs. Sometimes the resulting dialog gets said, sometimes not, but no matter what, the characters just stand there doing nothing. All I can do is ESC out of the conversation, and start over, to the same effect. Is there anything I can do to make this work, or is this a bug that needs to be fixed?
