  1. I play a marauder and a jug tank. I can tell you, the tank sets the pace of the FP. Often you get tanks just sitting for 30 secs between fights on a normal flashpoint, making the flashpoint take forever! Also you get tanks who don't know the flashpoint and will just pull one group at a time, when the group can clearly handle multiple. When I see tanks like that I get annoyed and will pull addition groups, or set the pace myself as a marauder. Normal flashpoints are easy and boring, there is nothing wrong with mixing it up a bit. I also play a operative healer, and trust me, nothing is more boring than a healer. Im glad when things get difficult and a little stress is applied, it helps keep me awake...
  2. This was the worse.

I finally got into a good arena team, and had beaten the enemy once. During the second round, we were just about to kill their last player, a healing scoun. It was 5 vs 1, and he stealthed to wait for the acid burn.

When the acid came we all died and discovered we lost the round. I guess he had just a little more health than the rest of my team.

There wasn't any reason for us to lose. This needs to be fixed, now. Hell, bioware, you need to fire your entire pvp team. Enough is enough...

These pvp devs have no idea what the hell they are doing...

  3. *looks at server list during peak hours*

    Full...Full...Standard...Full...

Yep, that's losing subs alright! ;)

Actually "losing subs" probably wouldn't hurt them at all even if it were true. I bet they make more money via cartel market microtransactions nowadays.

that was the same case around this time last year. Then over the summer subs dropped like a rock.

  4. All I hear is "Blah, blah, blah, I suck need to L2P and doom and gloom", amirite?

Lol I don't give a **** about the balance of the game right now, I never said I did. I'm more concerned with the continued failed patches, I made that very clear. Maybe if you weren't a moron you could comprehend what I had to say.

  5. It is always pvp bioware ****s up in. A lot of people say it is because they don't care, or they have no idea what they are doing. Doesn't really matter if either of these are the case. The point is bioware, your pvp department is in desperate help, and if results arent seen soon (meaning released patches that actually fix stuff) then prepare to see the same drop in subs as seen in last summer. However this time I can guarantee those subs wouldn't be coming back.
  6. PvE in this game is the most dull PvE I've ever played in an MMO.

Sure every MMO consists of doing dungeons/raids whatever to get the best gear. Though, there's usually other things that branch off from that to kill time. This game has nothing even remotely close to end-game I've seen in other MMO's.

That leaves PvP. I'm not going to lie, I've been a fan of SWTOR PvP for a while, though it's been getting worse after each update. 2.0 recently hit and it's by far the worst PvP update I've been here for yet. TTK is stupidly low, and PvP basically runs on stuns/roots/mezz. Again, every other MMO I've played, their stuns last about 2 seconds and have a long cooldown. They are meant to be to help you at a pinch. Though for some reason the devs seem to think that we each need multiple stuns/roots and even some mezz for each and every fight.

I've been growing less and less amused by PvP and I just can't take it any longer. I think the devs forget that the PvP community make up a huge proportion of their player base, but they just don't seem to give a damn.

Been playing for many months now, majority of the time with 2 accounts subscribed. Also payed for plenty of Cartel Coins and many hours on the phone to CS. If I'm getting no enjoyment out of the game and my money (and everyone elses) doesn't seem to be doing much then I think it's time to move on.

I'll play until my subscription runs out, and hopefully by then I've found something more enjoyable to play.

    Please, sort PvP out.

Anyways, rant over. Flame or whatever as you please.

This is my problem with you post. Yes, there is a lot of problems with pvp right now, however you didn't even mention the things 2.0 broke. All you did was talk about how much time you spent, and how there are a lot of stuns in the game, but then tell us how much you enjoyed the game up till 2.0. So you are telling my you were able to tolerate all of the CCs up till 2.0, and for some reason you can no longer? 2.0 has problems, but stuns and CCs is at least one thing 2.0 didn't break. You might not like all of the CCs, but I actually do. The only time you see a lot of CC is when are focused fired, and lets be honest, if you are being focused fired by 4-6 other people you aren't meant to survive that encounter anyway.

  7. The patch notes state Single Target, so I would not expect it to work for aoe

A new ability, Saber Reflect, has been added. Saber Reflect reflects all direct, single target ranged, Force, and Tech damage back to the attacker, lasts 3 seconds, and is trainable at level 51.

yah, its kind of bull ****, because veng jugs have no defense against smash specs. The only thing I can do is force push them as soon as they leap.

  8. I have no idea why they made it so it bolsters every individual piece of armor instead of a flat rate, and make that rate slightly lower then partisan's stats. BW made the bolster way too complicated. So complicated it took the community team nearly a week to get all the "mathy" parts of the bolster released to the public.

It doesn't matter though, because what is done is done, and BW really failed on this one. It is a shame, because it looks like we might be going back to the old system where skill = gear...

    /disappointingly signed

  9. Depends on whether or not they have singularity up. If they don't, I lol because I now have EXTRA (on top of the already ample amount) time to react. If they do, I choke or stun them and spam freezing force and lol all the way to the bank, because they can't reach me anymore.

And if they're not in Shii-Cho form, I just ignore them.

If you are able to tell what spec they are in then you obviously got the jump on them, and not the other way around. So therefore there is more time for you to react. However, I made it very clear that I was talking about a smash spec getting the jump on you. You would know that if you weren't such a pretentious noob.

  10. I must be some kind of PvP prodigy-Jesus, because I don't have that problem.

Or smash spec is the easiest class in the game to anticipate and a lot of people just don't pay any attention to what's going on. I'm not sure at this point which is more likely.

Or you are full of ****, and you do exactly what everyone else does. You pop a defensive cooldown no matter what spec they are. Something you should be doing anyway, against any class.

  11. Approximately how much time does it take to find the Shii-Cho form icon?

    (Hint: It's the blue one!)

Wow you are such a noob. What did I just say? As soon as they leap, they are using smash. There is less then half a second between the leap and their smash. You are not capable of registering exactly what spec they are before that 8k smash is coming at you.

  12. If you can't tell when they're going to do it, there isn't a whole lot of help for you.

A leap, the stance they're in, whether or not they have singularity charges... The fact that they're a warrior...

Doesn't get a whole lot more telegraphed.

As soon as a sith warrior uses leap, you have half a second to respond to their smash. If you don't have sabre reflection, or any way to mitigate their smash, you are likely to take on the full force of that smash. So don't give me that bull "you can easily tell what spec they are," because against a smash spaced sith warrior there isn't enough time to see what stance they are in.

Im at the point where as soon as a sith warrior jumps me im already poping some defensive cooldown. I cant afford looking through the many buffs they have to find their stance. If you are doing that, then you are bad.

  13. As a DPS all I can say is...

    Really?

Things die FAST now... DPS is in a crazy place and healing is the complaint here?

If anything I can kill healers faster now than pre-2.0

BS, and go away troll. I just played a match where three dps got 400-500k each, and one healer had over 1.4mill in healing.

  14. I heal, but I have been healing since 1.4. For me it is not different because I hardly died then and I hardly die now, but now if I make one mistake with my hotkeys it is almost instant death. The damage burst is crazy now and people are hitting for 9k crits so why can't a healer crit for 9k? The only problem I see now is if your are melee dps. Range dps rules now.

all that proves is healer have been broken since 1.4, and became even more so in 2.0. Healers are suppose to negate damage, not cancel it out. Otherwise dpsers become worthless. They cant kill a healer, so what is the point?

  15. The whining in this thread about Healers is one of the reasons I look down on most MMO players now a days...Healers can be killed, Hell baddies were whining about Healers before 2.0 saying they were impossible to kill yet when i played Pyrotech I was able to instantly burst down some healers....and still the whining still happens.

Newsflash for everyone out there, If you think 1 DPS should be able to kill 1 Healer in a 1v1, You should leave this thread...You're not reasonable and your ability to determine balance in a game is pisspoor beyond belief.

2 DPS right now can lockdown a Healer so that he's forced to Heal himself and kite at the same time, If he doesn't do the kiting part, He will die... Horribly I might add.

2 DPS should not be able to take down a Healer/Tank Duo at all...or easily...

Most of the time, You killing a Healer is not actually needed...DPS in this game need to realize this. If you are able to keep him from Healing others, you've accomplished the same thing as actually killing the Healer. If you're forcing him to kite around and heal himself, He's not healing anyone else..Meaning those people who aren't being healed can be bursted down and killed.

Finally, you fools would of crapped yourself dealing with something like a Warrior Priest or DoK in Warhammer which had Tanks that were a 1000x harder to kill then tanks in this game and could do the same thing Tanks do in this game.

We are suppose to believe a someone like you, who just clearly wants to keep his god healer from being nerfed, knows anything about balance? I don't even need to provide in-game evidence to prove your are wrong. Anyone with a brain can tell how bias your post is, and therefore your credibility is non-existent.

I also like to point out how much of a noob you are when it comes to Warhammer. Warhammer was designed from the ground up to be a team effort, so there was a lot of rock, paper, and scissor classes. Warhammer was always suppose to be played with 4-6 other people in mind, never 1vs1 matches. For example, a WP or DoK was no match against a Witch Hunter, or Witch Elf. SWTOR, however, was designed very much like WoWs. Each class was suppose to be able to hold it's own against another. They accomplished this before 1.2, but ruined with every patch after. Warhammer Online and SWTOR are two completely different games.

  16. Tycoon,

I never dps, it makes no sense. My entire skill tree, all of my armor, all of my stats are built to be a healer. In an encounter I am never dpsing anyone down, unless someone is dumb enough to attack a position where they are outnumbered. My job is to heal dps and for dps to kill the dps who attack me.

So if im required to dps people down, why am I healing? I might as well just break out my dps and win most 1 on 1 battles.

I would be fine with you having to select roles for wzs. I actually hate having more than 3 healers (except voidstar defense), because it usually makes it hard to take a position. Now if you happen to zerg the right places and get one, sure 2 healers at each node in a 4/4 is going to be tough. But if the other team gets 2 nodes, its going to be hard to take a position.

Problem is this will slow down warzone ques.

That is fine. That is your play style and I respect that. However, the problem with your play style is you get these stalemates, and healers become more valuable then a dps or even a tank, which is occurring right now, and I know for a fact a lot of people do not enjoy it.

  17. Healers really cant solo any class.

When I say someone shouldnt be able to beat me 1 on 1, that means I am just standing there healing or running away, etc.

My job is to keep dps alive to do the killing.

But right now healing completely cancels out all damage done. I think that should only happen if the healer has guard, or pops a cooldown. Otherwise healing is only there to negate damage.

  18. Its hard to balance because healing is reliant on other people actually being there to receive healing. Right now a healer who is good can probably have 1 dps beat on them and still heal effectively. With dps it would become very difficult to do anything but self-heal and survive.

But therein lies the problem. If 1 dps can negate 1 healer, you are back to healers dont really mean much. If I cant fend off a single dps and still be able to heal, my team is just better off with me as a dps and then its just who can kill who first.

In most warzones Im taking 400k-500k damage, that means as the healer Im still likely dying the most, Im just not being insta-killed 10x+ each zone.

I guess its just about what style of game do you want. I personally dont like staring at a gate 50% of a wz.

Right now a healer might receive 400k-500k damage, but you are also putting out one mill in healing. Everytime I saw more then 3 dpsers do 400k-500k damage, there is atleast one healer who has 1mill-1.5mill in healing.

Healing should only be used to negate damage, not cancel it out. If you want to survive a dpser, don't expect to use healing all the time and hope for him to give up. You will also have to dps him to survive the encounter.

  19. Well no one is going to kill me one on one if I really dont want to be killed. That just is not going to happen, and as a healer i feel that is absolutely necessary for my class to be useful. If a dps can beat a healer 1 on 1, there is no point in rolling a healer because all I can do is delay the inevitable.

Now to the response. You have won the battle against a healer if you make me run away and heal myself. Why? Because I am not healing other people, my usefulness/utility is entirely related to "keeping other people alive" if I run los, if I escape out of your range, I am also out of the range of my team.

When i said to use pull back etc, it was under the premise that you were going to attack the healer 2-1, 3-1, using stuns, slow etc, to ensure death.

If you are only going 1 on 1, I dont really believe you should be able to kill a healer if that healer is just healing themselves.

    (Edit)

I agree, 1 on 1 a dps cant really compete with all the tools I have in my toolbox.

I think teamwork should be used to accomplish what you are suggesting. A healer should only be able to out-heal a dps' damage if he has guard.

Anyone who believes a healer can solo any class in a 1vs1 match means they enjoy their over-powered characters, and choose to ruin the game instead of making it better.

  20. I agree that 1 dps should not be able to kill a healer, no problem with that. With the state of healing now i would argue that most competent healers can tank 1 dps and still crank out very respectable healing to the rest of the group. WOuld you agree?. I think 1 healer should be able to handle 1 dps, but have a major reduction in outbound heals to the rest of the group. Right now this is not the case, it takes 2 dps to negate outbound healing.

Sorry I have to disagree with you. I think one dps should be enough to overwhelm a healer to the point he cant heal anyone else but himself or he dies. If the healer has guard, than it should take 2 dps to see the same results. If there were more healing debuffs, and the interrupt's cooldown wasn't so long, than I think the game would be more balanced. I think sundering assault should apply a healing debuff to it's target. I think any ability that reduces armor rating should also reduce the amount of healing that target produces and receives.

  21. Lol, all of these threads complaining about healers are funny. As a healer, I'm glad 90% of people in Warzones have not discovered the secret weapon that is focus fire. It sure sucks when you go up against the 10% that actually do focus fire healers, though. :D

So you are saying the only way to kill a healer is to overwhelm a healer with ALL of the DPS. Your right, that a good strategy.

However, I want to ask you, don't you think a class might be a little OP if it takes more then one person to kill him/her?
