  1. I see, I found it. I disabled Suspend, but selecting Disable HD APM to disable it did nothing. What I mean is not check mark popped up next to Disable HD APM like it did for Disable Suspend so I assume it could no deactivate it. http://i39.tinypic.com/dzj8es.png Picture for reference. Having only Suspend disabled did not fix the problem but it DID lessen the effect of the freezing by a fairly noticeable amount. It's not that I can't, it's just I do not know any. If you really think the installation of more RAM then doing the DiscCasheArena on RAM drive trick will work then I will do some googling to find out where I can have my laptop services and the RAM installed and consider it. It's not a big deal, but I would really like to have it fixed.
  2. I tried this and noticed a slight increase in performance, though it still did nothing to fix my issue sadly. I had to do some research to understand some things you mentioned but I followed through with what I could. 1) Changed it from balanced to maximum performance. Seems to have had no effect on performance at all. 2) yeah I had an old laptop that blew out really really hot air whenever you loaded a game that had 3D graphics to it. A year later it stopped booting. Tech people said the over heating killed the hard drive or something like that lawl This one blows out warm air and never hot thankfully. As for programs that measure internal temperature I have none. I use to use one but according to what I read it had accuracy issues so I stopped using it long long ago. 3) Tried this. I expected some kind of program interface and not to just quietly run in the background, but seems to have had no effect at all too. 4) I have the ability to buy RAM if needed, I just don't have the know-how to take a laptop apart and install it. 5) Not 100% sure on this but based on what I read I don't have the RAM to do this anyways.
  3. It's okay, it's not a big deal to me I've gotten use to it. Just wanted to know if there was something I could do about it. Edit: Beyond trying graphics changes I mean. I already have visible character limit on it's lowest settings too.
  4. There is no x or reduced server connection. My character isn't stuck or not moving, it's the program that freezes. As for graphics settings I do not see anything about draw distance and everything is already back on very low settings. As I said changing graphics does not seem to have any effect on why the game itself freezes when characters come into view or at random times. Edit: I know what server lag is, and when the server lags or disconnects me, it does not make the old repuclic program freeze
  5. The text comes up as red, so does this mean it is a graphics card issue? It also randomly flashed green sometimes. I do not know if this is considered a low frame rate issue. What I mean is the game will just freeze entirely for a fraction of a second to a second when loading someone new into view or just randomly while playing. It's annoying but bearable. If I have to deal with it I will, would just be nice to fix this issue. The whole game will go unresponsive during that freeze and of course any action will continue without my ability to do anything (for example, holding W key to go forward and potentially running off a cliff or ledge if I am very close to one). Since this happens on any graphics settings I haven't been able to even guess what the problem is. However, in case I am wrong (which I probably am) and in case it is important, my frame rate did drop to as little as 3.0 just using a speeder through Mos Ila on Tatooine while loading three players. (I can test more if you want but I have work soon. Only drove around for about ten minutes). Had 2 in game loading screens (one from the taxi and a second from using the elevator in the spaceport to my hangar). Frame rate probably averaged around 30. Honestly though I have no issues playing the game even if 30 frames per second is considered slow. It's just the annoying freezing/unresponsiveness at random times or whenever the game has to load someone into view.
  6. (Specs below) I don't really have a problem with playing this game and I have been playing it for about 3 months. I can play the game up to medium graphics on most settings without a problem but I have had an annoying problem since day 1. I've tried different resolution sizes and playing the game om very low graphics but no matter what setting I always have the same problem: The game will randomly freeze for like one second. Can happen often sometimes and at others could be far and few in between. Seems to ALWAYS happen whenever a new player has to be loaded into view though which makes getting through places like the imperial fleet complete hell. However under normal circumstances or when there's no real players around the game runs perfectly fine (though it will still clip randomly at times for seemingly no reason about every maybe minute or two). I was just wondering, does the community have any advice to fix or lessen this issue? Other than typical things like closing all non-essential applications or try a lower graphics setting. I have tried both of those. It's not a big deal for me since I've gotten use to it, but it is annoying. At times it has made me run off ledges to my death or fall off of edges going for datacrons which makes it even more frustrating because the game will clip/freeze for that one second making me helpless to do anything. My Specs are: Acer Aspire V5-551 Laptop - Windows 8 64bit CPU - AMD A8-4555M APU with Radeon HD Graphics (4 CPU's) 1.6GHz Memory - 4096MB RAM (3.45 usable) Graphics - AMD Radeon HD 7600G (2010MB total Memory) DIsplay Mode - 1366 x 768 (60hz refresh rate) Hard drive - Hitachi HTS545050A7E380 I have a friend with a supposively bad computer compared to mine yet it runs OR perfectly fine for her compared to mine, which clips/goes unresponsive for that random second and has lots of in-game loading screens (that screen of a hutt and two people below him). She even loads planets much faster than me. Her specs are Laptop (I don't know the model name) - WIndows 8 64bit Graphics - ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 CPU - Intel® Core i3 CPU 2.13GHZ Memory - 3gigs of RAM So any suggesstions on graphics card settings or game settings that can fix this? I did my own research a month ago and according to third party forums, it's a harddrive issue where it doesn't spin fast enough to keep up with the game? Anyways I was just wondering if anyone knew what might be causing the problem. I'm out of ideas and not sure on anything anyways. I just know reducing graphics and shutting down non essential services and programs did nothing to help.
