  1. You can run it with up to 4 players and 4 gsi droids, best I have done is it with three. Kinda felt a tad op..
  2. If you get knocked back into the cage that one of the adds come from it is an instant death. Just don't have your back facing one.
  3. At the start of the fight both droids put their shield on the boss. If your dps mess up on this part the rest of the fight will suck with one droid being shielded and crap like that. If they dps evenly, great burn and both droids will become unshielded about the same time, rinse and repeat. Pretty quick easy fight. Last fight is a pure dps race, but pretty easy to get with the 186 gear you pretty much get given. My first time through the healer gave his explanation while we were in the room, not knowing he was cutting down the time we would have to do the fight. Lost over a minute of dps time, still killed it with 30 secs to go. Both dps in just 186 com gear.
  4. Yep, and I bet this guy needed on it without being anywhere near the level to use it. Had a sniper do that on a run, talking about how much of an amazing improvement it was for him. He was level 20... I promise by the time you get to 53 there are much better options for gear, and if you rocking that 53 green you will get kicked from even more content. If this isn't a really odd troll that is...
  5. No, my group tends to kick people who refuse to continue and want to search out every nook for more trash. Reading is hard I guess. Just like when someone gets kicked for completing the scenario without killing the bonus defender, people who just refuse to move on when everything is done and whine in chat get kicked. If you find yourself being removed from content all the time, perhaps it is you who isn't a joy to group with.
  6. I love people who think it is so important to kill every single group of trash during double xp. If you are leveling you should always have rest xp saved, and since rest and double don't stack you are not getting any extra xp for killing things. The nice thing about double compared to rest of course is the double quest turn in xp, which is a giant boost. I can't count the amount of times some noob ran off to get themselves killed trying to solo a group of three trash and a strong after the scenario was already done and everyone was waiting at the elevator. Had to kick a few people over the course of the last double xp for crying about some kills they had to run off to get.
  7. Surrounded by like twenty guys from the other faction. They got so bored trying to get me to target them so they could gank me that they helped me kill the mobs I was spawning during the heroic, and the champ boss. It didn't even take them that long to realize that no one in my party was going to accidentally shoot them and get ourselves flagged. What is funny is my first group to have this happen to didn't even have a healer. Just two dpsers we would have had a crappy time killing the champ with just off heals and companions.
  8. I am glad they changed that boss, it is very annoying when people insist on doing that when they have a strong team. There is no reason to run that damn thing halfway across the map when everyone is having no problem with the fp. But doing a los to make a pull quicker I have no problem with. Losing something to gather them up for quick aoe burn is a good skill to build for operations. Off tank grabs all the adds for a quick aoe goodness. Setting up a good los is the same thing, and a good habit to get into. Speaking of Athiss, on my op healer, the droid pull before the first boss. The tank said he had never done the place on hard mode, so I told him we would cc the marked droid for him, and just to get aggro on the rest really quick and we would burn them down. He pulled and just wacked one droid, nothing else. Of course I stealthed out and just stared at him until the merc needed some healing because it got all the aggro I had. When asked why he didn't try to get aggro on everything else, he said as a tank he can't hold everything, and only has so many moves at max lvl that generate aggro. When I told him one hit could pull aggro off of me he didn't believe me. The rest of the fp went pretty well though, so no complaints after that.
  9. Never said anything about opening with taunt, anyone who knows how threat works knows that opening with taunt on a boss is silly... The Jug just wouldn't use taunt before trying to kite the boss around, and just my dots would have me rip aggro. I lead the boss to one of the generators for it to smash it, and the jug taunted it back to the middle and tried to slowly walk it to the gen himself. After we wiped he blamed the other people in the party, and insisted that I only heal. It was an annoyingly slow way to beat the fp. The jug could have used friendly leap to get to me, use the passive that lets you move faster if someone you have guarded is taking damage, anything at its disposal. Instead it slowly trudged to each gen, guaranteeing two smashes per sandstorm. Not a chance of this guy ever beating it in hardmode since he struggled that much on a tactical. Final boss he needed on a willpower drop to try to get me back for saying he was a bad tank. It was funny having him think anything in that flashpoint would be an upgrade for me.
  10. Got a real tank in a tactical core meltdown who insisted my dps sorc not dps anymore because I stole aggro off of her. After two wipes I was forced to only click healing stations. I guess the guy never heard of taunts or guard or anything. We needed extra healing because it couldn't get to the generators in time as a jug.
  11. The kolto stations count towards your total aggro, I have stripped aggro while using them and not doing any normal healing.
  12. Found an operative "dps" running kdy so far into the heal tree he had kolto probe. When asked why he isn't throwing the probe on someone else to off heal a bit he stammers that he isn't a healer so that isn't his job. In a whisper he tells me he only has three points in the healer tree, I reply that it takes 11 to get to kolto probe. The reply of "SO" made me /ignore him instead of helping him with some advice. Why would you want to run some broken hybrid build in kdy, just making the runs take longer?
  13. Whenever I see we have another healer and I am on my op healer I usually give them the option to heal or dps. Most chose dps, so they can mess around a bit for a run. Every now and then I will get some lvl 15 that insists on healing, even though I have access to much more of my healing tree. One of the few times I have ever quit KDY was like that, the other three were all in the same guild and they wiped on a decently easy pull. I wasn't really looking at health bars so when they went down I just dropped combat with stealth. I asked the healer if he wanted to switch to dps and let me keep his guildies up and he began all caps screaming that we need to slow down and let him bubble everyone before each pull. I figured if it was going to yell at it's guild mates like that the rest of the run would be equally annoying and dropped.
  14. You keep getting people attacking the elite defender because for some reason groups like to end the quest line in that area and then attack it, thus locking themselves out of a lot of xp. There is no talking to those groups either, they just have to click the console and finish the quest, and wonder why one guy if flipping out trying to get the bonus done. I have been called a noob a lot because I try to lead the team to the bot for the bonus, it is almost maddening.
  15. Dear god the KDY run stories we are going to have, here is my first attempt. We get the scenario where you have to get the grenades to blow up the three terminals, and it started off pretty interesting. I cc the wandering elite while we are engaging the strongs in the first area, and upon seeing this both tanks attacked it. Yay, going to be a fun run. People die left and right for attacking every thing at once, no one follows anyone. I try to off heal the two "tanks" a little on my merc, not really working I am just overheating. Last terminal, and I see the defender we have to kill for the bonus, and call it out. One guy cc's it, the other goes after a large pull, and the last guy breaks the first guys cc. Death ensues and the dead shadow tank decided to pull the two strongs who guard the exit on his way back to us, for funzies I guess. I have been abusing my heals to stay alive, defender is at less then half health when everyone gets back. They run to blow up the last terminal, locking us out of the bonus and just watch me die. Dropping group on KDY? During double xp weekend? Yeah, I will just wait till at least one guild member is on.
  16. This^ for sure, usually only happens when a tank guards the healer because that is all he knows. I always let the tank build threat, so when I strip it even with an aggro dump I smile to myself. Ofc in hardmodes if you are stripping the tank then you are usually geared enough not to just fall over dead form getting a little aggro. For the topic at hand: I have noticed that a lot of people join KDY as healer or tank with no desire to actually preform those functions. Usually the healer will let one dps die because the figure the heal that would have saved it will take to much time. Repair bills might not be much for lowbies, but most people don't have a lot of extra coin on their lowbies to waste on unneeded repair bills. I do cringe for when these guys get to harder content, having never actually learned their roles that well...
  17. I always thought the adds were bugged or something. I have had runs where we ignored the adds till the end, and besides shooting the healer a few times and stopping it was pretty easy. I have also had runs where five of them destroy the tank randomly as it is leaving the water. My opinion: play it safe. Just burn them down during the electrified phase. preferably quickly with a ranged dps as to not waste potential dps on the boss and risk an enrage.
  18. It is magical and mystical and never should be used, mainly because it ruins good threads. Had a tank quit czerka labs after one wipe. He was a little slow to leave the water, and the healer couldn't keep him up. I was the only dps burning down the little robots, and on a powertech that can be a little annoying. As I was typing asking the merc to waste the little guys so they don't shoot the healer during the electric phase the tank quit. Even though he couldn't keep any aoe threat, I figured we would clear the fp with ease even with the one wipe. When I whispered him he told me that he never sticks around after a wipe, that it was clear we couldn't down the boss. Merc quits claiming he had stuff to do, no biggie. We get some bad-asses for their replacements and we stomp the FP. I think the tank /ignored me when I asked how he ever planned on getting through content if he just quits, I guess he quits if there aren't over geared enough people to carry him. Our healer had 78's and was damn good, so it is a shame for him that he left. Had a dps die on every pull during KDY, didn't think that was possible. 4 dps team, everything melted including our lone little marauder. I seriously mean every pull, he would rocket boot to get to the groups first, flip in and smash and promptly die. I should have checked if he was naked, but I was a little drunk.
  19. I am on a kinda troll Jedi Knight that is a pureblood sith jedi Knight on a RP server. I don't every try to RP, I don't mess with peoples RP, but I still get angry whispers about a dude named ULTIMATEPOWER being a jedi sith. Doing KDY I died against one of the loaders, the loader had about 10% health left and the tank wouldn't taunt it off and the healer wouldn't heal. Hey it is KDY, who cares repair bills don't exist at my lowbies level (the "healer" even pointed this out). I do inquire why the healer qued as one but wouldn't heal, I guess I hurt it's feelings. We lost one to a disco during the sith boss fight, and I was the only one worried about using the self healing things to keep people alive. Fake healer threw out bubbles, but It stood in red circles and was always ready to die. Tank died, but we finished it. I admit I was petty and called them lazy for not even self healing at the end, which offended them enough to kick me from a flashpoint that was already over. My first kick, in all my time at 55, and leveling noobs I have never been kicked form one. It finally happened, because I called someone lazy. I only have three repub characters, so I made sure to whisper them on all three so they would ignore them. The tank didn't ignore the last one, so I ignored him. I know, petty. But if you are going to be a little baby and kick someone after the flashpoint is over, and the rewards already handed out I might mess with ya bit.
  20. Kdy can actually be slower if you rely on heals from a healer during the boss fights. The mini boss's are pretty much set up where 4 dps can burn them down before anyone dies, and it should really never end in a wipe. The final boss's have the healing things that heal better than any healer, since it is a party wide heal that doesn't care how far apart everyone is. Off heals help, but are not mandatory.
  21. He is talking about corellia, so likely he is under 55 so insulting him about pvp gear isn't needed. I don't think at his level he will really be able to do much to fend off on OP if he isn't really used to pvping operatives. I like that some people tried to give advice but you can tell the operatives in the thread that insult him because they just assume this is class QQing trying to get them nerfed.
  22. Speaking of kdy, did one last night that confused the hell out of me. I was on my OP and got a pop. I see another slightly higher op heals in the group, figure he has the last heal in the tree that I don't have yet and ask if it wants me to dps while it heals. I always give this option when I see two healers, and usually the other guy goes dps, but it wanted to heal. Yay, I can just dps and forget. Right off the bat the guy types into chat that since he is the strongest here he will lead. He took that as that he was now the tank, and yelled at a merc for opening up a fight. Instead of clearing the east and west wings he went strait up, by himself and died. I tried in vain to heal him, and of course it was our fault he died. For the bonus mission on this one you have to kill the elite loader before you click on the computer to turn in the quest, I told them that but they refused to come around to kill it. I understand not wanting to kill every mob, but skipping bonus objectives that are right there kinda annoyed me and I called him an idiot. Hell you can kill the two jedis and all the mobs up there, and then just don't turn in the quest till you kill the loader. But to refuse and give up 10k exp is odd. One guy asks if we could hurry it up, I stop typing realizing that the argument is annoying someone and finish the flashpoint. Guy told me I wouldn't get anymore heals, seeing as I am an op healer I just laughed at him. He also needed on the only equip drop in the flashopoint, a level 53 green helmet. I asked him why and he said because he sells it and called me a nub. While I was letting him die on a pull I checked his achievements, and he has never done any 55 content. So I guess since he is a healer everyone lets him get his way so they don't lose their healer, of course to a dps loosing a healer or tank is comparable to death in their eyes.
  23. It was nuts, two guys just insta-died. Me and the healer stayed to the poison first round but I think a well times push back gave you guys the first round. I am just glad you guys didn't hide to the poison on the final round, had me worried there for a bit.
  24. I was the pt during that game, I have no idea what happened the first round, it was like two of our guys melted. Really good show for just two of you guys, gg. The healer did really well keeping me up in the first round, but of course it went to poison. Final two rounds went as expected, but man that first round was nuts.
  25. It is worse when you check gear at the start and see some guys who are a little under geared for it. The tank starts chain pulling and eventually he dies because the dps can't burn stuff off of him quick enough, or the poor healer just doesn't have the energy to keep healing him. Had a Jug tank chain pulling on cademimu, but he never smashed after leaping in, nor did he use any taunts. Healer would get all untouched aggro with the first heal, and I would try to save the healer with aoes. He caused us all to wipe once, after that I was much more careful not to attack anything he hadn't tunnel visioned on yet unless it was eating the healer. Every spot with the mounted guns he wouldn't attack or taunt the second one, he just let it hit the healer the entire time. He died at least five times, every time he would say he is laggy or sleepy. Final boss he died the first time the fire got to us, he wasn't shackled. He just stayed there. Lagg he called out in agony, as he laid on the ground and watched the entire fight. We lost the second dps to an unfortunate knockback at about 2/3 health left. Thank god for Hydraulic Override, we got double shackled a couple times but that saved us. Tank didn't say a word when we rezed him at the end, just left the area. Odd run.
