  1. I'm posting this thread to talk about the two big problems I see with crafting in SWTOR, along with their suggested solutions. #1 - Resource gathering costs credits and takes entirely too long. Complaint: Gathering should cost credits or take a long time -- not both. For the crafting system in any game to be viable one of two things needs to happen. You either need to be able to level your skill in your chosen craft along with your characters level so you can produce armor, weapons, etc to benefit yourself while leveling -- or you need to be able to make a profit with your tradeskill. My Synthweaving character is level 55. While I will admit I was able to advance rather quickly, at no point has Synthweaving yielded any usable gear to aid in my leveling, or allowed me to turn a profit on the GTN and I constantly have my companions out. Solution: Very simply, the system should either cost credits or time, not both. #2 - Resource gathering missions are not always available Complaint: That I am unable to gathering what components I need when I need them results in not being able to advance my primary skill at a pace that I have any control of whatsoever. I haven't been able to advance in Synthweaving for 3 or 4 days now simply because I haven't had the luck to get the mission yielding zeyd-cloth to pop. This is absolutely ridiculous. I am of the appropriate skill level to gather zeyd-cloth, I am just simply not allowed to have any unless the mission becomes available. I have enough of every other component such that should my highest level item not become trivial I can progress Synthweaving to 450 -- but zero zeyd-cloth. Solution: Very simply, every mission should be available at all times so you can get what you need when you need it. Fixing these two items would massively improve the value of the time spent on tradeskills and I hope this is something that can be addressed in the near future. Thank you.
