  1. Why does every concern about the aug kit issue merit a dev response except mine? It's a valid question. Surely it is not "working as intended" to completely void all the effort people put into augmenting non-50 gear. An upgrade should not require the EXACT SAME mats and cost as completely new aug slot installation. Will the bug be fixed? Is it not a bug, and the goal is for devs to openly mock players for the efforts made on low-mid level aug gear? Some of us greatly enjoy the crafting part of the game... are we simply here for the devs amusement So does this still get ignored? Will it be fixed? Is it working-as-intended for the devs to openly deride all of our sub-50 crafting efforts?
  2. I guess I should have been more specific. A "marksman" sniper is laughed out of the raid. ty for the free bump, though
  3. Why do the devs cater to the PvP balance issues in order to ruin PvE balance? I know dps classes that simply aren't allowed to raid in high end raid guilds because the mercs and marauders are such faceroll damage right now, there is no reason to take anyone else. And god help you if you are a merc healer that wants to raid high end content. Fix PvE and let PvP wallow for a while, instead of the other way around. You were completely right about snipers in the opening post. Right now they get laughed out of the building. They SHOULD be one of the top dps spots, but they aren't even close. They used to have utility to armor debuff, but that's gone with a recent change that stopped all armor debuffs from stacking. Now the raid can get the same effective armor penalty from their jugg tank. Operative dps is a bit of a joke, but they are all healers anyway, since they outheal anyone except the sorc in a fight that has a lot of bunching for aoe heals.

  6. Requiring an ENTIRE KIT is the same as adding an augment slot to a blank piece of gear. This means all the effort put into getting an augment slot was for naut. There should be SOME benefit to grinding all that crafting to get an aug slot. Make the "upgrade" require just a component, and an "new installation" require the entire kit. That is reasonable. If it requires an ENTIRE KIT, then there should be no cost to applying the kit.
  7. ^^ So is this being addressed? Or is it working as intended to require an ENTIRE KIT to upgrade an aug slot which is the same as installing a completely new aug slot. There is no "upgrade" in this process, persay. You are just completely nullifying all effort put into getting augmented versions of non-50 gear. Please don't throw all our aug crafting efforts totally into the garbage

  9. Even if the old aug slots were working correctly as mk-6 quality, I think it is bogus that a mk-6 KIT is required to upgrade an aug slot anyway. You are basically installing an entirely new aug slot which nullifies all the effort put into the previous mk of the aug slot. I believe the game mechanic for upgrades should require you to upgrade EVERY level of aug slot. In other words, a mk 1 slot could only upgrade to mk 2, and mk 4 upgrades to mk 5, and so on. BUT the upgrades should require only a single component of the next mk, rather than an entire kit. so upgrading from mk 5 to mk 6 would require only a single mk 6 component rather than a whole kit. By doing this, the cost to upgrade should be severely nerfed, though installations of a fresh aug kit can still cost the same as they do now. This would make fixing the current issue easier. This would also give some use to those mid level aug parts, and create an economy for them. We go through a lot of effort to get aug slots on gear. Please don't make all that effort a pointless exercise by requiring an entire KIT o upgrade every aug'd item.
  10. Thank you very much. I really hp[e we can catch a developer's eye with this post. Reward THE PLAYER, not the character. Enjoy THE GAME, don't suffer the grind.
  11. THe more I think I about, the more I agree with the valor argument. In fact that strengthens my argument for merging ALL commendations and currencies. By puting valor restrictions on the PvP, the players can still spent tokens earned on any toon, BUT the actual character must rise to the level of valor to be able t wear the gear first. That would strengthen the "make ALL bound gear tied to the legacy" idea. You could easily pass hand-me-down gear to alts, but they couldn't wear the PvP stuff until that toon rises to that level. As far as PvE gear goes, all bound gear should be passable to alts. It's not like you can get a hard mode Denova drop for free. You still have to earn it with one of your toons. It should not matter which character you spend you black hole tokens on.
  12. We can only hope they merge most character minutia across the legacy so we can enjoy THE GAME and not get quit because of THE GRIND.
  13. I appreciate yet another post of support. I have been pleasantly surprised that the majority of responses are a positive tone about these ideas. I like your quote of "I want to play the toon, not the grind." I really hope some day this thread might garner a dev reply about whether or not this is even close to the direction they are considering taking the Legacy game mechanic. Reward the PLAYER, not the character ! Play the new toon, not repeat the old grind !
  14. I thought of another idea to add to the Legacy dream. 14) Legacy character slots: Another good way to add a goldsink. Every time you reach 50 with a toon, you can buy a new character slot on the same server for a million credits (up to a maximum of 8 new slots for a total of 16). this would allow a player with the desire to fully experience all the specializations of all the classes and experience the light and dark side story choices of all 8 story arcs. I will edit this into the opening post.
  15. I have spent hundreds of thousands of credits more on moving mods than I ever spend on repairs. Allow players to pay to strip the mods anywhere, or use those silly "mod stations" to remove mods at no cost. that would finally give the mod stations a use. You could still add a goldsink for de-modding by adding a mod station as a legacy purchase for your ship.
