  1. Respected and Despised is recruiting 1 tank and 1 healer for a full time slot in our progression group currently 3/10 on the current raiding tier (2/5 Rav/ 1/5 ToS.) Who We Are: We are a tight knit group of players that have persevered since pre launch. Formerly a large guild from Swiftsure we have since scaled back to 1 progression group. We maintain a semi casual atmosphere with the goal of having a good time with a friendly group of people while still getting results. Recruitment is always open and we are happy to welcome any new people into the family. Our Schedule: Tue, Thur, Sat. Raids start at 6:15 pst and on weekdays go to roughly 8:30. Weekend raids will go anywhere from 9:30 to 10:15. Who We Want: As per the above we are looking for 1 tank (pref a jugg or sin) and 1 healer (no preference given on class.) Previous tier NiM or current tier progression is a bonus but not required. Focus for recruitment is geared towards raiders who can consistently make two of the three scheduled raid nights. Others unable to meet the above will be duly considered but will be relegated to substitutes in favor of raiders in it for the long hall. What You Need: A good attitude first and foremost is the most important thing for us when considering new recruits. Other than that show up with appropriate gear for the content if you are unable to meet the gear requirements you are more than welcome to talk to us about gear up runs, as a group we are more than willing to help people needing to round out their gear provided they are able to commit to our raiding schedule. You are expected to provide your own stims, medpacs and adrenals or alternatively the materials necessary for the consumables. Mumble and starparse are our voip and parsing service. Applications can be filled out at radguild.com. Any questions can be directed to our officers ingame: Pozo, Admonitor, Sanic or Uncle.
  2. What's BiS for you depends entirely on where your stats are at, and what is slotted in your gear. The gear tab of the bodyguard guide by Orderken lays out the sort of stat distribution you will want, with a little varience depending on what you augment with. For earpieces your choices are between Revanite Combat Medic's Device (Crit/Alac) and Combat Tech's Device (Crit/Surge). For Implants your choices are between Revanite Combat Medic's Mk-V (Crit/Alac), MK-X(Crit/Surge), Combat Tech's Mk-V (Power/Surge) and Eliminator's Mk-X (Power/Alac). As for crafted stuff even the epics aren't quite as good as the basic 192 stuff. For example a 192 token implant comes with (221 MS, 244 Endo, 156 Crit/Power, 111 Alac/Surge) and the best crafted stuff a 186 rated implant comes with (222 MS, 231 Endo, 111 Power/Crit, 102 Alac/Surge). So for 1 extra point of main stat you lose 13 Endo, 45 Power/Surge and 9 Alac/Surge)

  4. Bump. Looking for the following for NiM Operations: 1 - Tank (No preference on class) 1 - DPS (preference on a skilled mara) Also looking to recruit one of each role to function as backups for NiM progression. (As a backup you can be expected to be rotated in regularly into the progression group.)
  5. Respected and Despised Server: The Bastion Faction: Empire Current Progression: 5/5 HM DF, 5/5 HM DP (8 Man) 1/5 NiM DF (8 Man) Currently Recruiting: Great People, Great Players Previous Tier: Respected and Despised is currently recruiting active and mature players for NiM Oricon operations. We look to offer a competitive progression focused raiding team while still maintaining our values and ensuring everyone enjoys their time with us. We are friends and family first and foremost and we will not sacrifice what we have for another kill under our belt. Raid Schedule- Days: Tuesday - Saturday Times: 6:15pm PST- 9:30pm(ish) PST Raid Roster set up is something we take very seriously as a guild. Members who wish to raid are encouraged to sign up for raids to communicate their availability ahead of time. Plentiful signups allow us to better tailor our weekly raiding schedule in advance and allows us to offer raid diversity for our interested members. That said we understand real life happens; it is expected that some weeks you can't make certain days. Raid as much or as little as you need. We run a few various groups of different difficulty so as to make sure we can try to accommodate as many of our raiders as we can. Raid duration is quite flexible typically one can expect to raid for 2.5 hrs on any given night, weekend raids may be extended if need be and can go upwards of 4 hours. As always things can come up and we understand if people need to leave to take care of personal or professional matters. As a courtesy to us and our raiders if you know you need to step away from the raid for any period of time, it is expected that you communicate this information to the raid leader prior to the raid. Guild Requirements- There isn't much we expect from our guildies outside of the basics. We expect all members to steer clear of any activity that could put the guild into a negative light. We have worked hard to keep our integrity and reputation clean. We want to stay a positive influence in our servers community and want the help of our members to make that happen. Respect is in our guild name for a reason, we show it and expect it. The expectation placed on our raiders our as follows: - Have access to mumble. Mumble is our go to voip service, there is no expectation for you to talk if you do not want to, that said it is expected for you to be in our mumble during raids. - Be prepared this includes understanding the content you are stepping into, there is no room in our progression for people coming in half cocked. Being prepared also means have the knowledge of your class and spec to perform your role to the best of your ability. - In addition to the above you are also expected to have the appropriate gear for the content level. Stims, adrenals and medpacs are all expected where appropriate. People wishing to gear up with us in order to do progression will have avenues available to them. Gbank mats for crafted goods are available on request and no reasonable request will be refused. Gear up runs are also possible and typically done earlier in the week, with weekends typically typically being set aside for progression. - Most importantly a good attitude is essential to raiding with us. We are all human; mistakes and wipes are par for the course. We pride ourselves in our ability to pick ourselves up, persevere and overcome all the while maintaining a positive atmosphere. What We Are Looking For- Currently our NiM Progression group is looking for: 1 - Tank (No preference given to class) 1- DPS (Preference given to a skilled Mara) -Also interested in recruiting some back up players, looking specifically for 1 Tank, 1 Healer and a DPS (Will be regularly rotated into the progression group.) - Players who are interested but do not fit the above are still encouraged to apply. If you have the attitude and can walk the walk, we will make room for you. With all that said we are more than just raiders, anyone wishing to join a tight knit group of players, with a strong sense of loyalty towards one another is encouraged to apply. The family always has room to grow. Applications can be filled out at http://radguild.com IGN Officer Contacts: Admonitor, Pozo, Unclé, Sanic

  9. How completely and totally underwhelming/disappointing, that's my thoughts on the matter anyways. So my thanks for subbing is basically a double stipend for the month of July. I was honestly kind of hoping for something not related to the cash shop, I mean honestly I wasn't a big fan of the party jawa but thing is it was a unique trinket, if we got something half as good as that it would still be more sincere in conveying appreciation than 5 buck in virtual currency. And as people have said in this thread and others it's kinda of obvious what they were going for give people a taste but just enough that it encourages them to buy more coins for a more significant purchase. If BWs idea of sub appreciation is "Hey buy some more coins so you can spend it on stuff in the cash shop" well imo they completely missed the point.
  10. Honestly I'm not too pleased about this recent update for a couple (many) reasons. 1. Removing chest pieces that were directly purchasable only to just add them to the rep vendor. So now people that want these chestpieces will have to buy (at absolute minimum) 6 packs or 20 dollars worth of cartel coins (once again not accounting for cartel packs being complete grab bags) at minimum. So yeah not a big fan of taking a relatively reasonable direct purchase and miring it behind the randomness of cartel packs which lets face it people can have real ****** luck on. Which brings us to point 2. 2. The cartel tokens which if only by themselves would be great, helps alleviate the problems of people buying packs and not receiving anything allowing them to directly purchase some of the rarest/most iconic items from previous packs; awesome or it would be if they were BoL. Unfortunately these tokens that are a great help at relieving the random nature of packs and bad luck of people opening them are themselves completely random. The people that open packs and get crap luck with items can also be opening packs and get crap luck with the tokens. What would be nice is if these tokens are tradeable or better yet give them a guaranteed drop rate and adjust the purchasable goods that require these to a reasonable cost to compromise for the increased amount of tokens. Another problem of mine is that between the new pack and the tokens shipment two has effectively killed off the old shipment 1 market. What with the amount of stuff one can get from the new packs on top of the reputation for even more stuff and the tokens for direct purchase of some of the rarest shipment one items; people would be insane to waste their money or in game credits on the old packs. So really all packs past, future and present should contain these tokens so as to keep the other packs relevant. 3. A completely unreasonable pay to rep system pretty much sums it all up and I don't like it one bit. First problem is kind of obvious a reputation system that has no ingame method of grinding (none, nadda, zilch) so one basically has two options if they wish to grind the 70k of rep required to reach legend; either spend a potentially obscene amount of money or an equally obscene amount of credits. Now this entire pay to rep bs would still be a problem but what makes this sour note even worse is that these rep tokens are bound (which would be alright if there was an actual ingame way to acquire them... but there isn't) what pre tell are people who reach legend (we will get to the feasibility of this later) supposed to do with these things, just let them pile up? sell them as vendor trash which they would be at that point? Really thought that one through eh? Also tying back to point two the lack of rep chips in shipment one pack further kills their resale; who in their right mind is going to purchase them now really? GG Now here is what baffles me if these rep chips were added to packs to supplement the grind for those that bought cartel packs I wouldn't bat a *********** eye; infact I would probably hazard a guess that a fair number of people not happy with this rep system would be okay with it to. But no you went full steam ahead with this pay to rep system and don't even try to spin it as if it isn't you are either buying cartel packs or using in game credits to purchase a cartel pack. Either way you are forced to buy cartel packs and once again deal with their completely random nature ( in what is essentially non tos violating gold selling straight from the developer.) May I remind you there are a number of people that do not like cartel packs due to this very reason and now you have tethered this new rep to the very thing they dislike and is subject to the same conditions that make them dislike it. And Eric how dare you try to spin this as rewarding people who support the cartel market, what about people who have supported the market from it's inception by buying shipment one cartel packs (where is there retroactive rep), how about those buying unlocks and authorizations, those that bought armors directly from the market, etc... Where is their reward for supporting the market? No what this is is a cash grab designed to sucker players into spending even more money on an insanely long grind fueled by an rng; carrot meet stick. 5. The grind for this rep is unfeasable due to... you guessed it random cartel packs. To get to legend you need 70k rep, doesn't seem so bad when there is an ingame way to acquire it. So let's do some math 70k rep to reach legend each of the new packs has a guaranteed drop for atleast a green rep token worth 270 rep and potentially a capable of a purple token for 1440 rep. At minimum you will need 49 cartel packs to drop all purple rep chips in order to reach legend; worth 14144 if you buy two hypercrates and one individual; in order to get the most bank for your buck the largest cartel coin pack would need to be purchases 3 times netting you 16500 cartel coins 2356 excess coins worth $120.00 usd. Now since absolutely no one is going to be that lucky lets look on the flip side of things. Assuming you only get green chips worth 270 rep (and given some peoples luck with these packs it wouldn't surprise me all that much) you would need 259 cartel packs worth 76032 cartel coins I'm not gonna even bother to check how much that will cost as it would probably give me a heart attack. Now moving on what if someone where to buy all these packs using in game credits? Well we know they need between 49 to 259 packs; lets assume that after a couple weeks that the servers packs average out to what was the average value of previous packs after a couple of weeks (300k) on my server. At minimum players will need to spend 14.7 million credits and given the worst possible luck 77.7 million credits; and that is assuming there is no fluctuation in price and supply is constant. Remind me if I'm wrong but I vaguely recall employees having stated that only 10% of the population had over 1 million credits, so yeah both figures are insanely above what the majority of the population can afford. And of those above one million I am skeptical that the majority of them have the money necessary to buy these packs. So as we stand only those with a fair amount of disposable income and those with who are quite wealthy ingame have a chance of reaching legend with this new rep. Just for ****'s and giggles lets assume a player earning 800 coins a month (6 month sub, security key, 1 friend subscribing) it would take them at minimum 18 months to accumulate enough coins to purchase the minimum amount of coins to reach legend and give really bad luck 8 years. Yeah that's just *********** ridiculous. 6. The only thing that is worse than this is that this new vendor (not the removed chest piece vendor and not the previous pack vendors; just the guy that sells the rep gear) is more fleshed out than any other vendor in the game the only one coming remotely close to is the Gree vendor. Contains two full sets of legacy armor brand new to the game (unlike the reskins that all other vendors sell) 1 reskin full legacy armor set, 2 brand new headpieces, 4 companion customizations, and 1 reskinned speeder. What do the rep vendors that you can actually progress through ingame reward you with? Voss gives you one full set of reskinned social armor. Section X gives you a pet and a full set of armor composed of various reskins (and mind you that the only unique thing between the two factions versions is the helmet that will change to the other when swapping between factions... seriously?) Space gives you 1 full set of reskinned gear and one bounty hunter battlemaster helmet (Afaik no changes between it and the bm helmet except for the legacy bit) And the Gree that give you two pets, 1 speeder, 3 full sets of reskinned legacy gear, and reskinned BoL weapons. So yeah Gree are the closest to matching this new vendor and they have been around for a month. I wonder in the coming months how much love this new vendor sees while the other rep vendors fade into obscurity ( yeah I'm understandably a little miffed.) 7. More and more patch notes are starting to look like this: - cartel market stuff - cartel market stuff - minor other things - cartel market stuff - cartel market stuff - minor other things - cartel market stuff - cartel market stuff - cartel market stuff - cartel market stuff - cartel market stuff Needless to say it is a little disappointing, when cartel patch notes make up the meat of a patch with a smattering of other things. Now I understand most of the big things will be coming with the expansion and yes this game is in a much better place than it was. But live still needs a lot of love pvp is stagnating and new gear and 55 isn't going to fix that, there are still of QoL things that should happen, etc... When it comes across as your cash shop is taking up the majority of your focus I believe there is a problem and from what I'm seeing that is exactly what is going on. 8. Okay at this point this is gone on too long so just to wrap things up. Bioware you have kind of fallen through with your whole collectors vendor will be continually updated; and you know what whatever not the first promise you've broken, won't be the last but please please please stop stringing us along. Just call the market a wash because if the best you can do is a reskinned pet and a reskinned eyepiece in the time frame of over a year you should really just not bother it isn't worth the minimal effort you have put towards it and it isn't worth the amount of grief you will receive for it. Just apoligize and move on. It there is one thing and only one thing you should take a away from this reputation grinds which typically involve players playing the game should remain as such; supplementing it with cartel crap is fine. But once you get into grind that can only be done through purchasing a pack with money or purchasing a pack from another player who spent money you get into shaky territory. Sure you are trail blazing here but is this really something you want to be on the forefront of an exclusive pay to rep system? I know if I was a new player getting into the game and I heard about this I would probably mutter to myself "interesting" and then promptly unistall because IMO the game wouldn't be worth my time. And at this very moment I am rather unsure if I will continue subscribing to this game unless my issues are addressed and this current system seriously reevaluated .

  15. Just because armstech doesn't have the sort of popularity as some of the other crafting skills doesn't mean the best source of materials for endgame barrels and other pieces should be dropped. Thankfully I doubt bw would be silly enough to remove one mission discovery reward without removing the others simply because people have arbitrarily decided that they can't make money off them.
  16. IMO this would do nothing so solve the current problem, instead of people throwing credits to learn schematics at the alpha crafters they would just be throwing money into vendors for the same thing. And while I despise the state of crafting in the game right now this would make it even worse. You may say there is a shadowy cabal of crafters who hold all the power of the market; and that very well may be true. But there is a reason for this; They did they content, They won the drop, They took the chance to RE it, and the rng just so happened to be in their favor that time. There is a reason that these people are charging "stupid" prices and that can come from any number of factors, the price of the materials, the supply of that item and the demand. If you don't like that, that's fine then don't buy it; you are under no obligation to all that is being offered is an alternative way to supplement your gear. You want to put them in their place? Then do what they did, do the content, get the drop, take the chance and offer up the item at a better price (preferably one that ends with you still making a profit.) Opening up the highest current gear to something as easy to obtain as credits is just silly. I don't mind if the lower tier schematics are made more easily obtainable through drops of the actual schem or having them purchasable through the relevant comms at an increased price compared to the actual item itself. That is all fine and dandy but making it so easy to acquire BiS items schems without even stepping foot into the content where the gear that contains the item is a big no no in my books. All your suggested idea and the current system do is make it so there is no point of even stepping into the content, just throw money at it, throw in T1 shells and bam you are BiS dreadguard just like that. The problem with your suggestion specifically is that players with lots of credits probably the same crafters you alluded to in your post aren't at any disadvantage they more than likely have all the money to buy every single schematic they desire, only difference now is that other people can do the same thing but depending on the credits might not be capable of the same mass buying power as these players. Personally I'm holding out for BW to one day soon put their foot down and say the barrier for entry into BiS crafting is the relevant content itself, if you want the schematic the only way to do it is to learn it is from the gear itself, no ifs ands or buts. Same thing with PvP crafting if it ever fills out with possible schematics like PvE imagine how silly it would be if I (someone who merely dabbles in pvp) was able to learn the schematic for BiS PvP items while not actually doing the content in any meaningful way instead just using my credits to learn everything off the people who actually were doing the content and taking the chance and reducing the functionality of their gear for an opportunity to learn something.

  19. They commented on this on the live stream, the 400 comm relics weren't meant for live and accidently ended up on the pts. Here's the link , and here is the direct quote. Mind you this begs the question of why the hazmat implants somehow made it to live seeing as they offer just as much of a marginal stat boost for what is a similar amount of comms.
  20. I'll be blunt Bioware your stat distribution on endgame gear has been disappointing at best and abysmal at worst. Now that 1.4 is live on pts and the stats for dread guard gear are known it is safe to say you still haven't learned your lesson (for this thread I will be talking about this from the view of a mercenary dps wearing eliminator gear as it is what I am most familiar with.) Now looking over what is available to us it is safe to say that from a pure armorings perspective dread guard gear is infinitely superior to campaign gear, all aim heavy armorings compared to the mixed bag of crap that was campaign eliminator gear; infact ignoring weapons for the moment the only gear my merc truly needed was the non restricted reflex armorings, black hole gear provided much more flexibility, was much more easily acquirable and most importantly provided better stat distribution while maintaining my set bonus. The only campaign pieces I had any interest in where the boots and gloves and those were solely for cosmetics purposes. Now moving on to dread guard gear well atleast the armorings are where they should be... but that is about it. Heavy endurance enhancements and mods coupled with low aim and secondary stats. When 1.4 is live the only things I will actually need from the vast majority of DG pieces is the armoring everything else is trash as far as I am concerned both the mods and the enhancements are a significant downgrade compared to my black hole gear that has under gone only moderate min/maxing; something is very wrong here. Now if you want to stop reading here I'll sum up the next part for you; STOP TRYING TO PLEASE EVERYONE! Stop trying to use a line of best fit when assigning stats to gear; because you are getting it wrong, very very wrong. People aren't neat we don't always conform to how you want us to play your game. You think endurance is useful on merc dps... that's nice I don't, I don't want it I want as little of it as possible. You want tanks to have accuracy... sure some might find it useful but I guarantee not everyone does. When the general sentiment is I'll have to get 9 belts/bracers so that my gear is actually useable red flags should be popping up, klaxons should be blaring, etc... Now I'm sure you're thinking we tried it one way, they didn't like it now we tried it another way and they are still not happy; we just can't win. Well your gosh darn right you can't win, so stop playing, to quote Wargames the only winning move is not to play. So stop standing in the way of players and their stats because at the moment I would say you are more of a hindrance than anything. Now I'm by no means the first person to suggest this but it bears repeating. endgame gear should no longer come in the form that it currently does (i.e. premade pieces.) Now from a solely operations perspective (although this can apply to pvp gear as well) bosses should drop boxes i.e. Unassembled Dread Guard chest box, or Unassembled Dread Guard gauntlets box, etc... Now this is what happens you open up that box and you get four individual tokens for gear (Unclaimed Dread Guard Armoring, Mod, Enhancement and shell) for weapons you would get something similar (Unclaimed Dread Guard Barrel, Mod, Enhancement, color crystal (of which a very limited variety of colors are available) and shell.) Then you cash that bad boy in, reclaiming only what you want no more wasting a roll because the only thing that was actually an upgrade was that one piece of that gear while the rest of it was vendor trash or RE fodder. Want to build an aim heavy high endurance low secondary stat build? You got it, high aim low endurance moderate secondary stat, no problem, and so on and so forth. Is it perfect no, it does make acquiring BiS gear a tad easy, things would need to be tweaked i.e. bring belts and bracers to how they were pre 1.4, change implants, relics and ear pieces to only dropping from operations of appropriate difficulty. Also it goes without saying that all the stat bearing pieces would be slot bound, with the only way to obtain armorings and mods for your belt/bracers being operations of appropriate challenge. In conclusion Bioware I am your humble servant; stop making it so damn hard for me to love you.
