  1. Sure thing Eric I haven't seen these reported but my search fu is weak. 1) companion order in crew mission UI is just plain weird. They used to be in descending order by influence, alpha within influence, but now I have no idea. This really messes with my muscle memory :/ 2) Security Key on the guild ranks window need a tool tip. 3) The Professional Training (crit chance on crew skills) and possibly the calculated crit rate display seem wrong to me. After buying the perk for a guild, I tested and it looks as if my high influence companions *always* crit when crafting. I filed an in game bug report for this as well. My test results: I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but with the professional training perk my companions always crit when crafting components. Here's my analysis: To see if it was doing anything, I crafted 3 full runs of some grade 2 components on one of my crafters 50-inf comps, 2 46-inf) without and then with the buff on. 8 comps, 5 items each should baseline at 40 compents per run. With the perk, it looks as if the companions would ALWAYS CRIT. without ... 57 55 58 crafted with ....... 80 80 80 crafted I don't feel it's an exploit since we're not trying to cheat the game, this is just what it is doing when I do what I have always done.
  2. I don't know what the raw numbers are, but the unguilded population isn't small. The reduction in base XP/Rep doesn't matter to them. I'm not sure it really ends up being a big deal. Leveling is so easy in this game, and with weekly rep caps that have always been there, I don't see the loss of rep boost having a huge impact on anyone.
  3. Several good comments pro and con in this thread. I just want to add a "thanks, this is fun feeling and I'm enjoying it" to the pile. Good job. Yes, bugs and glitches, but if you've done big commercial software you have some idea of the challenges faced by the dev team. Good job. Looking forward to the continuation of the war! For the Empire!
  4. GTN is very slow as well. My server ping is sub 40ms. I haven't, and now won't, go into my banks.
  5. Same. I can log into the forums, but I've only made it past the splash screen you get after hitting PLAY once, and there the game would not let me log into any character because a download was pending. I dug out the posts from a few weeks ago and fired up pingplotter and there is a large packet loss again at level3.ord03.atlas.cogentco.com. Things were fine before the maintenance, I was able to connect and knock out a few heroics right up until maintenance start time. edit: corrected failing node name.
  6. But the difference in points has to be enough to get people to try. There is a real problem in GSF with CXP farmers, and Starfighter CXP bonus days on a Starfighter conquest week ... well, it's ugly. Actually, something that encouraged people to actually run the flashpoints instead of always zerging to the non-skipable bosses would be great. Zarahemla's suggestion for OPs is a good starting point. And it would make give the serious raiding guilds a fun way to compete. Repeatable but not spamable. Maybe change to complete the daily for conquest points? I don't agree that lockouts are an exploit. They are built into the raid system and served a purpose before conquest. A lot of work by some very good players goes into getting those lockouts. It is neither free nor easy nor an exploit. I do like trying to bring their points in line with the effort expended by those who just show up for last boss kills in the evening, but this isn't an exploit.
  7. I'm generally pleased with the structure and intent of the conquest changes. The new UI is a big improvement. While I'm not a numbers guy and can't address specific point allocation issues, particularly for planetary targets, the multiple available targets is a good thing. Things I like: * The new UI. * Removal of planetary multipliers to objectives. * Stronghold bonus calculation change. * The attempt to remove the ability to spam an objective (eg., lockouts) that make some guilds unbeatable. Things I don't like: * Win requirement for any points in PVP type activities. * The negative impact on activity queues. Reports are that flashpoint participation is down, for example. * I'm still wrestling with the crafting changes. I am one of the guys in a small guild that helps keep the guild on the board in crafting week, just about the only time we could reliably score encryptions. I don't know if we'll be able to do so under the new rules. My mats are situated to favor higher grade crafting since I can afford that while other players in my guild are more comfortable with getting lower grade mats and crafting to make personal target. * The lack of any meaningful explanation or warning of the crafting changes. * Some of the bugs are unforgivable. Resetting objectives across a character logout? Seriously? Requests for change/improvement: * Keep at the UI. Tooltips! Explanation of the icon meaning. * In the UI, the track objective checkbox is positioned so that I expected it to be the completed flag. The "complete/incomplete" text doesn't pop out of the UI. * Add filters and/or grouping of objectives into types. A tree view as with the companions and contacts UI would be very helpful. * Restore daily flashpoint and weekly mission objectives in some form. I know there's a lot of yelling going on out here that can make finding meaningful information difficult, but many of us want this to work well. I hope you can hear us over the wailing and gnashing of teeth. Thanks.
  8. Eric, I'm getting my backed up conquest rewards, but I notice that level 70 toons are not getting any cxp with them. That's not a deal breaker for me. My under level 70 toons are getting traditional xp. Thanks.
  9. I used items/loot when I filed a ticket. My Harbinger and Shadowlands legacy storage were undamaged and showed up on SS and SF in the same state I snapshotted them at Tuesday night. But none of my legacy storage from the other US servers shows up anywhere. So far everything else looks fine. Hoping for a speedy restoration of the additional stuff but I'm not going to panic
  10. I'm missing stuff from EH and likely POT5 on Star Forge. It looks to me as if my Shadowlands legacy cargo hold was preserved untouched. That was my largest and most active set of toons on the east coast, if that matters. I've filed a ticket. I'm still cycling through my toons on Star Forge but so far nothing seems to be showing up.
  11. There was a time when I would have blown past the 52 max limit post merge, but I've been slowly weeding out older toons I am not attached to. All the suggestions I have seen here are good, not all equally important to me, but good. I would like to add an option to "not display" a toon by default. If I can limit the toons I see to those I'm actively playing, that'd be great.
  12. Keith, I've reported this in the past with a lot of detail. There is a thread on the forums with even more detail. I was told in essence "known bug, sorry". I suggest the data is already there, it just needs to be pulled out of older bug reports. Mine was a couple of months back.
  13. If I take out a bomber with damage reduction armor, it gets shredded. Several maxed out abilities/stats on all ships are too powerful. The ability to ignore DR/armor renders DR and DR enhancing crew useless. Despon lists some of these issues. I'm sure there are others. In addition to asking the experts, I recommend that BW do a data dive of matches, especially where the top pilots outperform in the match by a factor of 2 or more, and see what said pilots kit for and what they ignore.
  14. In spite of its flaws, I *love* GSF. To the bullet points: Is the learning curve too steep to get into? Yes. As with any PVP there will always be the initial "oh god what's going on" period of confusion. Even with guides, I expect that to continue. You h ave to pay attention to different things in PVP vs PVE. I don't have clear suggestions for a way to fix this, but I once made the observation that "GSF is a game that rewards patience but does not encourage patience". The new pilot experience can be very offputting. Possible suggestion: Expand the tutorial mode to allow a player to just go in and fly around without the annoying popups and stoppages. Let me practice approaching a sat, shooting a drone. Is ship balance preventing you from playing? Not me, but it is a problem. I don't think strikes are as bad as "they" say, but I only fly one when I'm sure I won't influence the outcome of a match one way or another by doing so. Are you not playing because you feel GSF needs something new to bring you back in? I play a lot on all my toons. If the queue's popping I'm usually in it. I'd like new maps but this isn't a big deal for me. Matchmaking issues? This is a problem. It's less of an issue now that more pilots are flying thanks to CXP, but sometimes it's clearly 8 randoms against 2 groups of four experts. I'm not sure how to resolve that, but I know it puts off many pilots. Me, if the match is that one sided, I just fly what I want for fun and try to get a few medals, but I prefer a match where there's a chance at a win. The fact that GSF is character based and not Legacy? This is absolutely not a problem for me. I have a few "main" GSF toons where I've worked on mastering all ships for the achievements, but I'll fly on any toon. I actually enjoy leveling a new ship and trying out different builds. My current pet peeve: CXP leechers and match throwing self destructors. We see this way too often. I know some pilots view self destruct as a tactic in a domination match (die, take off from spawn to get get to current hot objective) but I don't like it and rarely do it myself. In a death match, we sometimes see pilots on teams with a lead self destruct to magically "heal" their ship or re-position on the map. That carries a clear penalty so I don't view it as a problem. However, since some people abuse the self destruct to grief a team or hurry a match, something needs to be done to discourage the behavior. So far the best idea I've been able to come up with is adding a predictable delay to subsequent spawns after a self destruct. Say 5 seconds, then 10, then 15 ... or some other interval. Just kicking non contributors isn't the answer in a death match. There's never a reason to be NC in a domination match, but in a death match it's quite possible that someone is trying to contribute but they just can't hit the maxed out evasion ships that are buzzing around them. It happens to me on newer ships sometimes, and I am far from not contributing. Also please rethink the NC timer and conditions for bombers. I'll be close to the fray and taking damage in my legion or war carrier as I put out heals but if the opposition doesn't come in range of my drones, and they usually don't, I get flagged. Gunship heavy matches: This may belong under matchmaking, not sure. Giving everyone a gunship was some help but it isn't the real answer. I enjoy a good sniper fight myself, but I know many players do not. Perhaps a cap on ship mix for map/match type? But how to decide who gets to fly what? Some specific suggestions Tutorial mode should have a "just let me fly around and experiment" mode. Vote kick option needs to be more obvious. Reporting a bad actor in a match needs to be easier. Just being able to click on a name or auto populating the match date/time/server/map would be a big help. :
  15. I thought the same on The Shadowlands, but I had done my crafting calculations based on Titans of Industry and not this new Iokath conquest. As I got enough points, I did get personal conquest rewards for this week.
  16. Oh, forgot to ask where you are geographically, at least in general terms. US Midwest here, lots of internet access.
  17. You are not alone. I have done all the network changes I know how to do (flushdns, reboot router, reboot computer, etc) and nothing. I have been on a few times over the past couple of hours but periodically I'd get kicked to the "can't read server list" screen, and now when I try to log in, I too am hung up on the splash screen.
  18. First, put up an invisible wall on Savrip Island on Ord Mantell to prevent credit farmers from forming a group up where the savrips can't hurt them. They just stand there and bot kill the Savrips. It's an old problem, but I think the fix is simple enough for that location. Spotted today at 3:15pm Eastern time on The Shadowlands, but I've seen it on other servers. Second, regular expressions (regex) could be used to spot spam messages on fleet. The pattern is pretty consistent, I can't believe some regex guru couldn't write an expression that would flag them. I don't like to automatically squelch anyone, but i think these spammers should be squelched.
  19. Could we get cross faction GSF while we're dreaming?
  20. I need to create a new ticket but there are a bunch of still open spam reports that have put me at the limit for open tickets. There's a limit? I tried to close some of the tickets but "there is a problem with closing your ticket please try again later". I can call support but I need to submit screen shots. Just venting frustration after a jerk self destructed 22 times in a gsf match to throw it to the other side. We'd have won if he didn't. :/ I'll try again during the week, I've got my screen caps, just complaining about the ticket system here in homes a bioware type sees this.
  21. I've been back on harbinger for a couple of hours now, and while I haven't been back to Hoth or DK, I did run The Lanar Question on Alderaan and noticed that no bodies were piled up. There were other players in the area. I also did Shock Doctrine but that's an odd zone so I'm not sure that it didn't have bodies piling up is significant. Anyway, there's clearly a problem here, and I wouldn't mind a server bounce with a little advanced notice to see if it at least clears out the mess for a time.
  22. You are both right in spirit, if not in detail. It's bad on Harbinger. I switched over to Beregen and things seemed better. Even if the server isn't rendering the image, it is tracking the corpse location and sending the data related to the corpse to the clients. I'm seeing delays in mounting even when not in an heroic area on Dromund Kaas.
  23. The complaints seem to fall into two camps as I read them: 1) Change is bad, doooom 2) You took away my easy button
  24. A natural assumption, and I believe many people do drop when not playing, but I choose to vote with my dollars. Besides, 2 game subscriptions is a lot less expensive than the monthly cable bill my spouse has
