  1. Regardless what Owen Lars wore its been pretty much established for years now the jedi traditionally wore these robes. And all lore aside, those robes look a million times better than anything available in the game.
  2. ...if bioware hates money.
  3. Getting an item for free by subscribing as opposed to paying lots of money for it is encouragement to participate in future promotions. But it also provides a way to profit off it in the future for people who weren't even around to play the game yet. Every year new players come of age to play and appreciate this game. Providing a means to acquire these companions at a higher cost wouldn't be a bad move. Unless of course, bioware hates money.
  4. My point is as far as the promotion goes, if you don't provide a way to pay for it later for future players, your losing money. You can easily set the price tag to be much more than what it cost those who subscribed for them. If a player needs to take a break sure you can punish them for not subscribing. But that won't put money in your pocket and it will only serve to discourage that future playerbase if its something they want. However offering it at a higher price on the cartel market still lets you profit from players who missed the promotion with the promotional items. And if it costs more to go this route it will still encourage future players to subscribe for the rewards at a lower cost. I dunno. From a business perspective it even makes more sense.
  5. Actually the flawed reasoning is yours. The subscriber rewarded characters arnt given because of how long you subscribed but simply being subscribed on a certain date. A freaking free to play member need have only subscribed a total of two months to get niko and hk. So a guy who subscribed only for two months is rewarded while the new player that is a dedicated subscriber till the death of the game is denied content because of a promotion that they weren't even aware of. So the devs post hk in the cartel market for $50 to be acquired at a higher cost while subscribers still are rewarded for basically recieving the character for free. Bioware isn't losing money they are gaining. If subscriber rewards were all tied to how long you subscribed instead of simply being subscribed on a certain date you might have an arguement. But the fact is even then you could just charge more than whatever a subscriber would pay for being subscribed that long. A player only pays a total of $30 to get both hk and niko but they also had all the subscriber benefits. So charging $50 for each for future players or players that missed the offer wouldn't be a bad thing. Those who received the characters did so for practically nothing. Just by subscribing. While future players, subscribers included, could still access these characters at a higher price if they really wanted them. The subs still benefit, future players arnt forever locked out of content, and bioware makes more money. It really is a win win except to those whp just enjoy seeing others deprived because reasons.
  6. Being a player who hates the idea of companions or content being forever locked away to new players or returning players I feel like there could be a better way of handling this. An alternative could be offering subscriber reward companions on the cartel market for more money than say a month of subscription. Maybe $50? Then players who missed out on the offer could still acquire niko or hk if they were willing to pay for them. People who subbed would still be getting properly rewarded because they got a $50 cm item for free just by being subscribed. And swtor gets more money. Everybody wins. Except of course the part of the player base that simply relishes the fact that others can't aquire something they did and salivate at the idea of said items being denied to future players that didn't even know about the offer. I guess they would be emotionally distraught. But everyone else would win. After all the promotion never said it would be the ONLY way to get them. Only that if you subscribed you would get them as a free reward.
  7. No Baras was the one who tricked the Emperor into trapping himself on Voss and then Usurped his authority. The Emperor was very aware of what happened and who was responsible after the fact. I believe the Emperor even says that the Empires pretty much beneath his concerns. At this point he was only focused on his ascension. So it mattered little who was winning the war or leading the Empire. Baras however moved against the Emperor himself, hindering his ascension, and so the Emperor returned the favor by enacting revenge through his wrath.
  8. Ironic isn't it? Barsenthor, Hero of tython, nadia grell, kira carsen, revan, bastilla shan, Satele Shan, Ect. Are all good lightside jedi WITHIN the order that had romances. But Jaesa. A fallen jedi who actively participates in the killing of other jedi, serves a sith, calls him master, and has left the order, won't romance because she wants to be a good jedi. Its as perplexing as Ashara, another jedi actively involved in killing other jedi, serving a sith and calling him master, refusing to marry without permission from the council. All the while our jedi characters have their secret marriages. Lol
  9. This bug has been around since 2011? And still no fix? Unacceptable.
  10. Ah you're right. That's what I meant. Summer heat is getting to me.
  11. You know I never saw the quinn thing from a female character perspective. For me he was a character my male sith rarely spoke to that did something my Sith would have killed him for but couldn't because reasons! That's why! Same as skadge.
  12. I always hated Skadge. Hopefully we will be able to kill him in the expansion. His very breath is an insult to my smuggler.
  13. Guss and M1-4x are my favs. Both made me LOL on more than one occasion.
  14. I hope lana is a healer. We have no healer jedi or sith companions. We have tons of dpsers
  15. He sure is! For my jedi I would probably go with Nadia, m1-4x, gus, Ashara, and lightside jaesa or kira For my sith probably dark jaesa, lord scourge, scorpio, nico, and lana
