Well, I'll keep beating that meat a while a longer, in the hopes someone else thinking about resubscribing thinks twice. I really don't see why yall should mind.

I received an e-mail stating that there was new content available to all my old characters, and as I said paid to resubscribe. When I resubscribed to this MMORPG, shorthand for 'Massively multiplayer online game', I did assume that multiplayer would still be an option. Perhaps it was indeed a little foolish of me to put that pretty basic trust in a company like EA/BioWare, but I guess I'm just a little gullible, what can I say. That still doesn't explain why you're so hellbent on defending these cash-trap servers, and doing your utmost to crap on those complaining about it. Given your quote thingy, I guess it's just your thing?

In the same breath you admonish me for making a post about this issue on the forums, you tell me I should have referred to the forums to have become aware of this issue. Why mindlessly defend something you know is lame, and actively drives players out of a game you enjoy?

Had I seen this thread when I perused the forums before resubscribing, I wouldn't have. Players thinking about returning to the game should be informed, so there should be a thread about this at the top of the list every day.

Returning players, lured by promotional material for the new content, are finding themselves trapped in dead servers; servers in which the entire active population could well be counted on fingers and toes. This totally nullifies the MMO experience, making pvp, group pve, and player interaction nearly impossible, and forces these returning players to either start from scratch on a new server, buy a maxed out character, or pay out the nose to transfer their characters to a server where multiplayer in any form is actually possible. This is an extremely lame tactic for extorting additional money from returning players, and that's precisely what it is, as there's no other reason to keep dead servers open.
