i wonder why nobody complained before Mist of Pandaria was launched that WOW had not received a single content update. NOT A SINGLE ONE for over a year outside of a raid that was finished in the first 5 hours of release. all the game got was bug fixes and rebalancing for PVP. in fact there was more praise for the game THEN than there is NOW..
yet swtor will go two months with nothing and then drop an update granted it may be a cosmetic content update or something not content rich and everybody goes 'that doesn't count' we have no new content.
-
I would rather they devote all resources to bug-fixing already released content.
SSSP is a pipe-dream imo. I gave up on it several months ago as being a proverbial carrot they dangle in front of the sub base to keep them playing a just a little longer.
because space. is the defining moment of star wars.
that must be why 98% of the movie took place in a space ship fighting other space ships in every single movie created in star trek lore and written in every book as well.

how many more dark shadows must be painted over swtor between now and the next year?
and further. does the amount of dark shadows painted of the future of this game equal the number of dark shadows painted over LoTRO, STO and WOW put together? considering since release dark shadows and imminent failure have been claimed since day one? 3-8 years now into the present?

Come on this is coming from the development team that makes you run the exact same FP not twice, but three times over the course of the entire game, and can't even develop unique endgame FPs.. and 1 out of 10 does not count sorry. Its absolutely lazy to make people run the same FPs over, and over and over and over...and over. Don't expect anything more from them. They might come out with a Gree Heroic event with harder mobs!
how is this different from any other mmo. please tell me i mean i'm really wondering what game you expect to have infinite amounts of content.
you will never have a game with 7000 hours of unique content at release i'm sorry. even a sandbox game is limited by the amount of features applied to the game by the developers.
even gw2 dynamic events are repetitive. how many times must i save the burning house?
do you not see the problem here? the problem isn't the developers its the players expecting content generation at the rate of new content every few days.

lol this is the reason why bioware shouldn't even respond to the community.
you give the community an inch they take a mile spin it into something negative and then take 10 more miles.

You made a decent point there. I can understand your point of view with that. What many are saying, though, is that subs are being devalued with the cartel market items. The stipend we are given, also, is so small that it is really pointless. Sure, you can save up, but the psychology they play on is that most people will want something right away, and they will have almost enough, so buying a few coins to get it seems like a good deal.
Remember, this is the company who's CEO said " If you are playing Battlefield, and you are 6 hours into it, you are invested. So if you run out of ammo, and we say it will cost you a dollar to reload, you will do it without thinking about it. You will just do it" or some such to that effect. True story. This is where most people are getting their anger from. They are seeing this kind of attitude, or worrying about it, comming out in this game.
touche..
but you get 600 coins free as long as you have a security key attached.
for 5 bucks that only merits you 450 coins.. which means 600 coins is close to 10 bucks of free coins.
if you can't budget or spend those coins accordingly that's really on you.
if you see a piece of gear you want/love/need to have then you have to understand that either you play the GTN or you save your coins up. it'll only take 2 months and you'll have 1200 coins which by my calculation is almost enough to buy even the most expensive cosmetic gear item. - the bundle cartel packs. and you were going to play the game that long if not longer anyways right?
so 60 days of enjoyment in game isn't worth it? or is it you want everything now.. and that burns you. which is it?
also note i do wish that the coolest cosmetic items could be earned but that's not the case. but you must understand if you take a look at the ongoing trend a lot of games are moving towards F2P with cash shop cosmetics. and once WOW moves in that direction that will be the final nail in the coffin. what will you do/say when all MMO's move towards this method of profit?
not play? which you could do but we all know why people play MMO's because despite the cash grabs and the cheap marketing. MMO's provide cheap constant nearly unlimited entertainment value. you could go out and buy a 59.99 dollar game for your console but in about 6 hours you'll be done and that will be it.
to me the value is still in an MMO money grab/cash shop environment at least then i can pick and choose what i want
-
not understanding this. i should have been given my black/black dye.
i suppose to increase my chances i shall spend an additional 1000 dollars putting my sub cost at 2015.00 dollars this month.

The individual is being pointlessly fecitious and rude. Take your own advice and be constructive on the point please.
so tell me oh wise one..
how does one stay one point about cartel market and the cost of OPTIONAL features that everybody is so up in arms about?
the reason i'm being overly sarcastic is because the fact that so many FORUM regulars are complaining about features that they don't even friggin need. but yet complain about because of a small gateway of some free coins provided to you via your sub cost.
-
can we put people on an ignore list in the forums?
funny how you're ok with all the complaining about how prices of optional features are high and exorbitant but when i want to occupy bioware.
that's grounds for ignore? lulz.
backward logic people amuse me so.
you'll probably continue ranting and raving about how prices are to high but when i want you to join me in picketing outside bioware offices that is a step to far?
join me brother. we must bring this machine down!!

Just wanted to point something out... neither for or against OP or your post for that matter...
Before F2P and Cartel Coins: Subs paid $15/m
After F2P and Cartel Coins: Subs pay $15/m
Subs still get access to everything they were getting before F2P. Technically, the CCs that come with subs are in fact... free
they're not free enough!
occupy bioware!!

the words you never want said while you're being operated on.
"he doesn't need that.."
-
the 1% have spoken!
all content must be given to us FREE OF CHARGE
along with a stipend of both cartel coins and real money deposited into a paypal account of our choosing.
yes the 1% must be paid to play SWTOR. to the tune of 25 dollars a month
-
OCCUPY BIOWARE!!!
we the 1% DEMAND that our 15 dollars allows us ALL and i mean ALL cartel market items to be given for FREE. not a single cent will be paid towards the market.
the 1% has spoken. until then our 'sub' fee is WORTHLESS.
-
its a good thing other mmo's do this.. oh wait.. they don't there's just a gated mechanic of gear score or item level in the way.
-
if they actually did what players suggested everything including the sub price would be free of charge and the studio would go bankrupt in about 2 weeks.
-
been tempted to buy the lowest amount of coins because i really want the long hair for my female jedi and don't feel like waiting for the monthly allotment.
-
so what you're saying is that Aric Jorgan or any of the other Cathar NPC's never existed in game?
In case you missed my point, most of the heavy lifting was already done. If it took three EA employees more than a week to add them to the character creation menu they were slacking. Using a 100USD loaded rate and a 40hr work week, that's 12,000USD. Even if it took them a month, the cost would have been trivial compared to monthly revenue.
lol i love how you pinpointed exactly how many people even down the amount of hours they worked on the project to get Cathar into the game.
sources please? unless you're with the occupy bioware movement and you have infiltrated the machine. if that then bravo. steal some stuff out of the vending machines for me and maybe a plush toy from the CEO's desk.
-
But you know what's funny? You'll complain about a $9.99 expansion in SWTOR but won't give a second shake of the head at paying $60.00 per expansion for WoW.
because that's WOW this is SWTOR.
OCCUPY bioware!
WOW can rape out wallets because we love them and don't care how much money they take from us. but SWTOR we the 1% must be provided everything for FREE.
-
OCCUPY bioware!!!
we the 1% who are subbed to the game demand that everything be provided for free at no charge in fact. we should be PAID to change our race and be PAID EVEN MORE to dye our armor.
i respectfully suggest that for race changed bioware pay each sub 25 dollars cash money into a paypal account of OUR CHOOSING for race change and 5 dollars per dye into the same account effective immediately
-
Don't you have something better to do? Like flunking a class in college or going to a poetry slam competition?
i'm just joining my fellow brothers and sisters up in arms about how dye colors cost money and how bioware is attempting to pay wages by way of charging for extra features.
this fat cats and their huge salary's need to be brought down a notch. this entire game should be provided for free even the sub cost should be waived and be provided for free!
occupy bioware!

in other words
FREE
occupy bioware!

Hippie meet Capitalism. Capitalism meet the pimple on society's posterior.
the entire first page of the forums is dedicated to wanting everything for free.
the pimple is now a cancerous cyst. and will only grow larger!
occupy bioware!

Trolollolol, move along straw man.
the 1% will not be ignored!
we must have everything for free! don't you see on the forums there's an outcry for free things! i am not the only one in this. join me brothers/sisters! we will make a difference!
-
we also need everything for FREE
because so long as we pay money for anything we can think of its not worth it..
OCCUPY BIOWARE.
