  1. For those who don't know how to edit hosts file, quick google search yielded: https://support.rackspace.com/how-to/modify-your-hosts-file/
  2. I got past 208 error, but got 310 error while downloading patch. I added "104.86.111.179 cdn-patch.swtor.com" to my hosts file and patch started to download. Now I'm in the game.
  3. Bump. Please address this and provide us with an ETA.
  4. Bump. I am switching from power crystal to critical crystal and I want this color. ETA would be appreciated.
  5. I can confirm that Makeb Weekly does NOT give conquest reward. I have done it on my pub toon and on imp toon and neither gave points. As the OP said, this is very frustrating as Makeb missions are simply horrible to do. The Dissonance Wave is very long and Door to Door is just annoying. My guess why this is happening is that they forgot to update conquest reward from [staged Weekly] to [Weekly]. There is no [staged Weekly] after 4.0, but conquest reward still says [staged Weekly]. I hope they fix this soon before more victims fall for this trap!
  6. I still don't see this fixed in 4.0.3. No vendor, no patch notes.
  7. So the last patch did not seem to fix this problem. I am wondering if they are going to fix it. Since they still have pre-order crystal vendor, and raw Razer crystals are still attainable from Collections, I would assume they will fix it. I would love to know ETA though.
  8. I have been waiting for an update for this thread, so this is great. Thanks. I have been parsing DPS comps and I am getting the same numbers (Note: my presense is just above 1000 as well). Those melee DPS guys are doing very nice numbers (Akaavi, Torian@ 1700) and holding threat well enough for the most part. I also found that Treek in tank gear does slightly less dps (600-650) than our regular tank comps (700-750), but her threat seems higher than other tanks. I am surprised to see in your post that Treek not doing so well with healing. So perhaps the only advantage for her now is her smart attacks (i.e. avoiding cc'd opponents)? On a different note, I have been using Risha for my companion for Yavin slice farming so that she can crit on slicing, but it is not easy to quantify that actually helps or not. Anyway, thanks for the update and looking forward to new comp info.
  9. Yeah I was able to call it from mission item in my inventory. Thanks. I still see no icon to click in my mission tracker though.
  10. Same here. I opened a ticket, too. I see no "activate combat support droid" button in my mission tracker.
  11. Same here at #240 with <50min wait time. Subscriber and not happy about it.
  12. I play on Herbinger and fly both Imperial/Republic almost equally. And I agree with others on there are bunch of really good players on Herbinger. Having said that, I rarely feel overwhelmed by other pilots when going 1 on 1 except when I face "Willie" and "Twilight". I consider myself a fair scout pilot and can hold my ground most of the time, but when I go up against those two scouts, I get beat up. In case of Twilight, I had to resort to cheap Gunship-sniping-from-carrier tactics to get a kill from him They are both republic scouts.
  13. I was very excited to see this post about Jaesa fix in 2.6. But alas, now we are missing Pierce... I still do not have "Wing Commander" title because of this bug.
  14. Also, if you are playing Domination mode of the game, here's my tip. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=715628
  15. With Rakghoul event happening I see more weird people than my typical day. Last night I called out for Heroic 4 in Spike. Myself (healer), 3 DPS. As we were assembling at the entrance of H4 area, this sniper finally arrived with flag on. I wasn't sure about it, but thought "oh well". This sniper immediately started aggroing mobs. As we did not have a tank, I thought it was OK. I popped two probes on this sniper and got flagged. As we started the fight with champion, I noticed big spike in damage and realized that we were under attack by several flagged players. The sniper went down as well as me. Other member of the group revived me and she got flagged. We were once again attacked by the same flagged players and died. Then the sniper snapped and went "THIS IS WHY WE DO NOT DO THIS FLAGGED YOU CO*K SUCKER" "THAT'S IT YOU ARE ALL IGNORED" (yes, all caps ) Other group member left the group. I said to this sniper "But you are the one who was flagged in the first place" and he left the group without saying a word. Some people are just weird
  16. I just love it when: I capture B (or C or A depending on the map) and defend it for a bit. My teammates are unable to capture C nor A. I announce that I will go help C, but B will be undefended. I capture C while my teammates are chasing enemies near C, but ignoring the capture distance. I defend C, but B gets captured. I announce that I will go help B, but C will be undefended. I capture B while my teammates are chasing enemies near B, but ignoring the capture distance. I defend B, but C gets captured. Rinse and repeat.
  17. I feel you. I wrote up some basics on Domination. Hopefully some newbies read it. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=715628
  18. I think I would be pretty busy just flying in that situation.
  19. Well I have kept satellite in those situations long enough to get my teammates support plenty of times. I choose to stay because I know it's not a guaranteed death from experience. For me, guaranteed enemy capture is a lot worse. I have been shot by those nasty ion cannons. But I was not aware they can shoot through obstacles like satellite. If that's the case, indeed, I would be doomed. I agree that you have to be able to act instinctively at times. But if everyone tries to "disrupt" enemy plans by going after gunships 30km away, we are almost certainly lose the game. I have seen plenty of those self acclaimed "aces" ignoring the dire need of satellite protection. Anyways, I wrote up the list so that new players can get general idea how they can maximize the chance of winning Domination game. I am sure there are situations where you have to act totally different, but I thought at least they should know the basics.
  20. Even when that happens, I do not fly out of satellite's capture range. I try to stay out of LOS of gunship as much as possible (stay one side of satellite) and make tiny circle running from fighter/scout as long as possible and pray my teammate realize my satellite needs help. If I fly out, I forfeit my satellite immediately.
  21. When I see a lone gunship sitting at 15km from the satellite I am defending, all I do is hide behind the satellite. The gunship may shoot turrets out, but s/he can't take the satellite. I do sometimes go out and take out the gunship, but only when I know there are no other enemy ships around. I made the list to educate new players, but perhaps there are so called veterans who can learn from this.
  22. I see people posting good tips/tricks around how to pilot ships, but I do not see much on strategy around winning Domination game. So here are some tips that hopefully helps new pilots. (And less frustrating games for me ) First of all, some basic info about Domination, Domination is about how long you can keep more satellites than your opposing team. It is NOT about how many ships you shot down. Please note: Green satellite = Good Red satellite = Bad White satellite = Neutral You have to keep at least 2 satellites in order to win. That means 2 green satellites at the top of your screen at all times. If you see 2 or 3 red satellites, you are in trouble. In order to capture, you have to fly very close to satellite. If you are the one capturing the satellite, you will see green shield thingy around your ship while capturing. If you see that, don't fly off! Wait until the shield thingy is gone (means satellite completely captured). If you have your teammates with you in this process, you capture satellite faster. ================================================== Having said that, here are some tips: - Make sure you watch those 3 satellite icons at the top of your screen. When a satellite is blinking or white (instead of green or red) on your HUD, it means it is being contested. Do your best to get to that satellite and help capture or keep it. Note: If you are protecting another satellite, you should probably stay. But if you are chasing some enemy ship, drop it and go help NOW! - If you see little dots around the satellite icon, that means turrets are still up. While turrets are up, the satellite cannot be captured. This does not mean you can leave it alone even if the satellite is blinking because there is a good chance whoever is attacking that satellite takes out those turrets pretty quickly. - So if you see no dots around the green satellite icon and the icon is blinking, you have to act quick and go help that satellite. Otherwise, it will be captured very soon. - If the satellite icon is blinking and there are no dots, and it is still not turned white, that means your teammate is furiously protecting your satellite. Unless you are protecting another satellite, you better fly fast to help! - If you ARE the one protecting the satellite. Make sure you STAY WITHIN CAPTURE RANGE of satellite at all times. I cannot stress this enough! This may not be easy for newbies but once you fly out even a little bit, your satellite will be taken. So stay alive by using defensive cool downs and flying defensively (slow down-speed up-stop randomly while hugging the satellite) and hope your teammates will come and help soon. You do not want to stop completely and sit under satellite as this makes you an easy target for gunships/experienced fighter pilots. - Very often, I see my teammate capture a satellite and immediately fly off to chase some enemies and some sneaky enemy fighter comes in and recapture the satellite. There is nothing more frustrating than seeing this happen. Make sure you stay within the capture range of satellite while your enemies are nearby. - One note about hugging satellites: If you are having problem killing someone flying circles around the satellite, and IF you have your teammate(s) within capture range, you may want to fly downward a little to get some distance between you and your enemy ship to get missile lock. But this is a big IF. If there is no teammate around, do not do this or your satellite will be taken. - If your team has control over "A" or "C", you will be able to spawn from closer base ship. See Dulfy's "New Player Guide" for pics and guides on this. She's got excellent info there. - Be aware of the overall situation by pressing "M" to see the map. Happy hunting!
  23. Yay! I saved up enough fleet comms so I will be ready for my Wing Commander title as soon as 2.6 hits! Thanks!
  24. Has this been acknowledged by devs? This bug prevents me from getting Wing Commander title which I have been trying to get since the release. Now I have everyone unlocked except for Jaesa.
