  1. Hi there I also have the experience of building a progression team from scratch and I know its tough to get rid of some of the pug strategies. Ill try to keep it simple: 1. Forget about giving the tank a head-start, my first malaphar kill happened with 10 seconds of the boss enraged, so yes, every dps GCD is precious, actually once you start getting the mechanics of the fight your dps should open with everything they have (adrenals, raid buffs, pre-casts) unless the mechanics dictate otherwise ofc 2. Your tanks need to know their 18 second taunt rotation, it depends on set bonus, true, but all of you should have 6 piece set bonus for hard modes 3. Tanks need to hit the dummies too, and practice their rotations, TPS witout taunts, opener TPS with taunts on CD 4. One of the toughest fights aggro-wise is bulo's initial pull (1st barrel) i'd suggest you go into SM and practice there how to maximize opening threat. you can even have the OT do the 1st taunt to maximize it 5. I know this sounds obvious, but every raid night me or my co-tank forget to put guards at least once, so make sure guards are up before the pull 6. Having a steady team opens the door for a lot of strategies not used in pug groups, communication is key to success, make sure you have clear rules of who is allowed to speak during fights, who calls out what and such
  2. If you plan on doing dailies commendation gear is fine, it should be close to the 3000 mitigation budget. On the other hand if you plan to do HM flashpoints and operations i'd suggest you go get a lot of credits and buy the crafted 186 gear from GTN i went with full immunity enhancements, redoubt mods, veracity implants/ear that should give you 3300 mitigation budget iir which will be more than enough until you start getting the unassembled tokens

From my point of viem this is a problem if you are wearing 186's, once you start moving up gearing in 192's, that force starvation issue is gone since you shield more attacks (remember that we regain force only if you shield an attack) and the new operation bosses have less shieldable attacks. I'd suggest to stack a bit more shield and test it out until you don't see that problem anymore Also if you are out of force which usually happens to me in 1st phase of Blaster/Master, since i'm the one that takes master and i'm just dpsing blaster on that phase just spam single strike a couple of times, you'll be back at 100% faster than you think P.S. I'm currently at a 3700 mitigation budget

  5. This workaround worked for me: Use a tank comp (i used Treek but i guess any will do the trick) Fight him for about 10 secons Go grab a cup of coffee while the whole team fights it At around 20% he starts doing dark growth, interrupt it Done
  6. Yup I just ran C9 for the 1st time in months, its patching atm, and i'm pretty sure it will finish before servers are up

My team did this one the other day for achievements sake, With 180 gear is actually pretty easy and this is what we did: 2 ranged dps on the 1st add, 1 ranged switches to boss as soon as 1 add is down, OT and the remaining ranged burns down the 2nd add, rinse and repeat, your goal is to bring the boss down around 8% between laser phases, at soft enrage (20%, aka radation leak) pop inspiration have OT get the boss while MT goes and grabs another iso buff (this is only to make life easier on healers so they can help bringing the boss down)
  9. Actually the filters are there, the problem is that they reset after every logout, so nobody uses them anymore. So Bioware all you need to do is make it so that the filters don't reset. please do so

  11. About dismounting what i usually do is find an ability that forces me to dismount (this depends on class obviously) i.e. force wave for consulars. Obviously you have to be careful to not hit anything you don't want to. Now if you are a sub then yes, just put the ability on one of your quickbars and keybind it

Hi guys, from the looks of this thread, my progression team isn't that far away (we've been raiding for 2 months now) still working on HM's but this week we made it to the dread council finally so NiM is looking closer. Anyway my question is if this thread is accurate/updated since i'm seeing still some spots open for top 10 in a few bosses
  13. Mannequins please i'd love to get some in my room. Also a poster/rug for 100% completion of a particular achievement (planets, ops, flashpoints, companions, etc.) It would be great to place whatever decoration you get for killin a boss over the rug you get from the achievement Food/drink stands like the ones from tatooine in episode I, very useful for parties

  15. First of all thanks for both responses, i really appreciate it. Now just to clarify a couple of things 1. We never thought of cc'ing the droids, just noticed the boss immunity buff was there and made us wonder if the fight was bugged 2. Thanks a lot for this tip, we were really struggling trying to find some form to anticipate the tank swap and make the fight a bit less hectic 3. The guides we saw suggested the swap at 5-6 stacks, we toned it down to 3, we'll swap at 2 stacks now, again thanks And yes, we are not part of the hardcore groups.....yet, in fact this was our 5th run together in a hard mode. We used to do story modes but when 1 night we breezed through TFB going in half-naked we decided it was time to stop joking around and step up our game We are not scared, we knew this fight was the real first challenge we'd meet, so i'd really appreciate any other tips anyone has to offer.

So my guild just call it a day at Corruptor Zero 8man HM, we've been at this fight for 2 raiding days now, and it just seems.......crazy (lacking for a better adjective for it) we did our homework, read several guides, watched some videos and so on. Gear/skill isn't an issue, tanks are geared and soaking up enough damage, healers are great, dps are parsing above the torparse average for this fight (around 1.9k on average). This are some of the things we noticed: Adds can't be CC'ed while in every video we saw they can be cc'ed, they don't have the boss immunity buff in the videos, but the buffs are there currently in the fight The stacks that force a tank swap appear to be entirely random, i'm a tank and i can fight the boss for around a minute with no stacks, and then i get 3 stacks in 6 seconds Both of the tanks are wearing itemized gear (prioritizing mitigation) and we have to swap at 3-4 stacks, 6 its an almost insta-kill Boss has around 2.6 million HP which according to dulfy its NiM HP At the 2.5 minute mark we can't get him below 75%ish, which in every video i've seen they hit the 50% mark. I know damage comes from practice at the fight but 25% seems too much Aggro seems to be all over the place, i know for a fact that i had the boss taunted and he turned to 1 dps and heavy slashed him Anyway i was hoping for someone to step in and share some thoughts on it, if this is intended we'll just work on it, but if its the same bug that happened with NiM mechanics slipping through i'd appreciate to know, so we stop wasting our time, and move on to DP while it gets fixed
  17. Still recruiting raiders we are now running every wednesdays TFB and SnV weeklies to get some ultimate comms, And want to start DF HM on thursdays we raid from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. more if the whole team wants to keep going
  18. Let me put it this way, if this would've happened to me i'd just have 8/16 more people in my ignore list they were just a bunch of idiots. I do have synthweaving in one of my toons and i'm pretty sure is the skill that gives me more money specially now since a lot of dps are using mainstat augments, they sell faster than i can make them Its ok to be stimmed for an op run but it doesnt matter where you got them from
  19. We're still looking for more people to join us. We are now doing raids whenever we have a full team for it (usually 3-4 times a week) but in a casual and relaxed environment. We are moving to hard modes soon so if you want to join a guild that will help you in your gear progression but won't stick your head in a spike if you cause a wipe. Republic command is for you. We'll just hang you by your thumbs
  20. Jedi Consular Shadow Phase Walk now only teleports the player when the ability is deactivated manually. All other methods of removing the effect (such as clicking to remove the buff from the effect bar) will simply end the ability without a teleportation. Phase Walk now only goes on cooldown when the character successfully teleports. http://www.swtor.com/community/devtracker.php?page=4 If this makes it to live (the notes are for PTS) i can guess we will find some better use for phase walk so i agree in holding the phase walk concerns for now. My vote goes for tank spikiness (PVE), DPS performance (PVP/PVE), and resilience (PVP/PVE)

I just wanna thank you again for all your advice although i dont post a lot i do check the forums on a daily basis and i've always found your tips very helpfull. Have a great time wherever you go. Im pretty sure that whoever fills your class rep role will do a great job (KBN or Xinita) since both of them know our class inside out, so i have no worries on that matter To the developers of this game i really hope you understand how serious this is, when you loose a voted member, who actually won by a huge margin, due to your inhability to answer your own costumers concerns there's something very wrong with the way you are handling your public relations. You are not losing a costumer, you are losing the best kind of client a company has, the kind of client that loves your product so much that suggests you how to improve it. But i guess everything is ok, we can ride Varactyl's now
  22. Just wanted to chip in since looks like this is the most active thread regarding this issue. Amber posted the sets that have problems in another thread. I can confirm that all the scalene armors are bugged, weird thing is that the gray helix saberstaff is not and its also BOL. Also i can wear the blue scalene on light allignment toons (the requirement says light I or above), though the white scalene (neutral) and the red scalene (dark I) cant be used. Dark alignment toons can wear red but no white or blue Hope it helps in fixing this soon
  23. I believe he does have an enrage timer associated with how fast you kill the cores, happened to me and a guildie, we were using 2 healing comps and saw the enrage, we switched one of the comps for a dps one, and we didnt have a problem
  24. Just wanted to give you guys an update. I did changed all my enhancements for the Inmunity ones, and also bought a couple of absorb augments (they are quite expensive) and my shadow tank is starting to feel "pre 2.0" if you know what i mean. Im actually getting compliments from healers again. You've been of great help, so i just wanna say thanks
  25. First of all, thanks for the reply. And just as a confirmation are you saying that the 66 enh and mods are better for us than the 69 ones you can buy with elite comms? I havent tried them on (its a 40 min craft times 7) but if its true ill flood the GTN with them
