  1. Place a bubble on your teammates as they enter battle, stand back and place out DoTs on enemies, use forcequake if there are more than 2 people stacked together and use the TK wave proc quickly before they spread out and then select a target to burst down (if TK spec). Look after healers and mark them, alert your team. If you spot a meleeclass closing in on you, especially operatives or shadows, knock them back and place roots on them and run and hide behind your team. Position yourself where you can kite easily. Pull your teammates away if they're about to die, for huttball you should position yourself near the enemy teams goal and pull ballcarriers. As for stat allocation i can only speak on behalf of TK spec, of which i have had great success with 25% crit, 75% surge and rest into alacrity.

Very broad question but these are some obvious things that came to mind.

  2. I'm from EU and the teams are usually uneven until about midnight for me, which is when most good pubs come on to spank imps and have a laugh. Seems we have tons more PvE-geared newcomers who are still learning, and a couple of bots aswell (who have programmed generic chat phrases such as "i need help", stand still outside spawn in huttball every game and never reply).

I think we lack objectiveminded players too, it gets kinda tiresome always having to cap and guard because nobody else will, especially when there are plenty of people in lesser gear or stealth around who refuse to believe that they would do the team a greater service by playing supportively.

With that said there are still some very competent pubs out there who make my experience more enjoyable and hopefully the new batch of players that came for 12xp will learn and have their gear soon enough. :p

  3. I agree we dont get enough voluntary peels, but what can help is mark yourself at the beginning in spawn to make yourself more visible and ask your teammates to peel from the very start. I see newcomers in almost every warzone and I suspect most of them don't even know that peeling for your healer should be a high priority if winning is the objective, so just tell them :)
  4. In truth i have now made a few relatively small adjustments and theyve made an enormous difference, suprisingly enormous. They are still more of a threat than any other, much more so than assassin, but certainly a threat that can now be lived with.

Its suprising how relatively small things can make a huge difference in swtor esp pvp.

Thanks for the input tho all, it wasn't constructive generally but what can you expect.

Glad ur learning. You're right in that us operatives and scoundrels are better at putting pressure on a single target than sins, who excel at doing so to multiple targets at once and also have more tools at their disposal. ;)

  5. Mando and Scoundrels have balanced healing in PvP. Sorcs and sages are another story entirely, thanks to their mobility and large toolkit at their disposal they can manage 2 dps to some extent but will go down eventually too, unless theyre getting peels.

Honestly most games on harb where I play the games are not lost/won entirely thanks to healers as some want to make it seem. Imps are very good at focusing our healers and many times nullifying them from what I've experienced. There's the odd sorc who will have a crazy HPS at the end of the warzone but majority of times its because they have superior dps on their team who pave the way for them or enemies not focusing healer when they should.

The only fix I see for this is for dps to improve their game and maybe rework sorcs and sages a tiny bit. Make them manage force once again and I swear more than half of them won't be performing as well anymore.

  6. I don't agree. Do you know how many people queue up for HM FP's who clearly have no business being there yet? There is valid concern when an under geared tank enters a HM FP because we've all seen too many wipes caused by the players who aren't ready for them yet. Sure, someone who knows their class can pull their own weight, but too many people queue who simply aren't ready. If you're under geared then run with guildies until you're ready.

I've seen some genuinly undergeared people in HM FPs, undergeared meaning sub 186-rated gear which is pretty much given to you for free with all the basic commendations you receive from SoR questline, so giving them the foot is valid in that case. I was specifically talking about 186+ unaugmented which from my own experiences have little trouble healing or running groups with as long as they know what they are doing.

Most HM bosses come down to mechanics anyway, and the stronger trashpulls such as those in Manaan are handled with good CC. The healer will have to focus a little bit more, but those wipes you speak of, and as I have gone through multiple times are most often a result of some players not knowing the mechanics or not running out of circles in time.

One unaugmented groupmember? That's fine. Two unaugmented groupmembers? Be on your toes. Unaugmented group? Hey, now you've got yourself a real hard mode!

  7. Yes have a good old rant and then read the comment properly later.

I have full pvp gear and 4 174's too as i said. Operative dps appear behind you and even if full healing yourself and running away, have bubble stun and even get an electrocute on them and still im dead in what max 4 seconds its WOAH...NO OTHER class comes anywhere near, the best ive seen otherwise is PT in close combat from behind....not jugg, not sorcs not sniper not assassin can get me down that fast and i mean never and ive had a word with a couple of operativesi know and yes its simply stab + stun rotation its nothing special and they aren't even usuing all the stun selection....

Some classes prefer to fight some classes but ops sorcs onslaught is too much too quick at the moment.

Do you think a healer should lose a fight to one dps in under 4 seconds if they know what they are doing, have fully pvp gear if not fully arena and are just desperate to prove they can stay up? Should always take at least 2 esp in under 4 seconds.

Try not to misread guys if you are commenting again, its really really annoying.

Sorc heals are very capable of outlasting a concealment operative if theyre using their utilities the correct way. I main sage heals and play scrapper scoundrel on the side and I admit she is an absolute sorckiller 1v1, but at the same time you have all the chances in the world to stun them, root them and run back to your group to get peels. All you have to do is know your class and survive the opener which may require force barrier or early use of stunbreaker + root/knockback and from then on its smooth sailing. Remember each class has theirs strengths and weaknesses and sorcs sure as hell have it better than most. You are going to get into trouble if meleeclasses are able to get close up on you, but in return you will top most scoreboards when played correctly and with a good team in front of you.

  8. Hey guys! So I'm just about to finish off a fresh level 60 sentinel which was created for PvP purposes I've been seeing a lot of negative feedback about this AC but at the same time heard that it is one of the hardest to master and has a lot of passives that have to be looked over and activated at the right time. This is something that speaks to me and that I want to try out so I'm wondering which 3 of the specs is considered the most challenging or best right now?

    Thanks in advance!

  9. HM flashpoints are very doable without any augments but it will be harder on the healer. WIth that said, people who cry about your gear are mostly "that guy" (I like to call them termites) who tries their hardest to complain, grief and drag the teamspirit down until everybody just wants to get out of there.

As long as you got 186+ and know your class then you are eligible for all content except level 60 operations. You just have to get it into your brain that there are some very rude and insecure people out there who will take any chance they get to harass innocent players. This is why running with a guild is a good idea. :)

As for raising money, you should look into training some craftingskills and if you find dailies boring, take advantage of 12xp to level up some fresh 60s which will bring you a little over ~1mil per alt!

  10. I take it those were crits/good RNG? The burstiness is about the only perk about concealment operatives. Their sustained dps is subpar to most other ACs as far as I know (at least practically) and offheals is meh but shouldnt be underestimated~ Take away our burst and theres literally NO reason to play concealment over shadows/sins that I can think of.

And yes, operatives are superior to sorcs for 1v1, as with just about every other class aswell but theres a reason they dont top scoreboards or are considered FOTM, they are focused badly when out of stealth/during fights and can't run around spamming 10k hits on everybody.

  11. a team that consists of 2 healers and crappy dps are only going to win if you dont mark healers and alert your teammates of them. the amount of qq threads appearing here lately is nausiating and most are l2p issues really. i myself have actually been pvping and there have been many games that have been lost despite having the matchup youre talking about, simply cause "crappy player" youre speaking of is not going to peel and protect their healers. so TLDR: good dps is going to overcome teams with healers if theyre not being supported in return.

as for the part about tanks, I agree they need to be buffed and have more impact on warzones IMO.

  12. Not sure if troll. Sages are second only to assasins, and arguably PT for PvP, sure you will lose 1v1s to operatives but the massive dps and healing output you are able to do under most circumstances speak for themselves. Did you look at the scoreboards recently?
  13. Scoundrel heals are terrible at DPS but its always worth trying to maximize it.. the rotation I use when I have spare room to dps is vital shot>back blast>blaster whip>charged burst>flurry of bolts. i strongly advise you not to level as a heals but rather respec into it in ur late 50s to save time but still get a feel for it before you start running ops/flashpoints/60pvp. good luck ;)
  14. Most are concealment from my experience, find it hard to believe op healers can actually do well in ranked considering the difficulty to keep up with single target burst damage. I suppose they are better suited for group ranked where you can bring a tank and get more support than the usual yoloqueue.
  15. 1) 25% crit 75% surge and lots of power, then you can decide whether to go more surge/add some alacrity

    2) Whichever one is tailored for concealment as far as set bonus goes

    3) Both are fun and it comes down to personal taste. DoTs, sticking to group and having more dmg/wz or being a lonewolf that caps nodes and wins 1v1s

  16. I was using jolt on CD myself, I can't guarantee the other two players were using interrupts or not because it was a pug unranked game. The only bubbles I saw in play was Force Armor and then Barrier when she hit 50%.

I can't recall if she was in pink armor, I do know she was wearing an Minimalist Gladiator top with the usual dancer bottoms for the ever so tired "haw haw look how naked I can make my girl look" thing that is so disgustingly common in this game. Can't remember the shoes...sorry I was a bit busy. But far as pink goes? Not sure, it was Huttball and at the speed I tend to play everythings kind of a yellowy brown most of the time.

Ok so wasn't me then, because I had a similar situation yesterday where I was the healer. But really, the only way a sage is going to look invincible when two dps is on them is by using their roots/knockbacks/stuns and kiting them to hell and back. If they didnt, then you can be sure that they were being supported somehow.

  17. Ok so sage heals are a little over the top in PvP right now but they will never be able to outheal 2 dps unless ur not interrupting their hardcasts when possible. I'm betting he was guarded or receiving offheals/something else or its just a l2p issue. I know this because I mained a sage healer for 3 years and face against them all the time when im on my dps.

In fact, did this happen on the harbinger versus a sage in pink gear? :D

  18. Lethality plays very differently from concealment and takes more focus from my experience, and probably more actions per minute aswell. It can be very fun and rewarding AC to play once youve learned it and is perfectly viable for PvP though i havent tried it in ranked yet.

up to u what u wanna play really, but in short its DoTs, pressuring healers and having more damage per wz versus awesome roguish lonewolf that will win most 1v1s and can turn around games easily by stealing nodes or bursting down unguarded healers<< though quite rare but happens from time to time :D

  19. 60s are popping constantly and are packed with new people in pve gear who are gearing and still learning. quite frustrating when hardly anyone is playing objectives at times, but it is for the better
