  1. Hey everyone. So, I have been an MMO fan for a very long time. I've bounced around several games off and on, but like many other MMO junkies, I always ended up getting stuck back in the usual WoW grind. However, I have recently ordered a killer new gaming rig, and it's on the way to me, and I've decided that SWTOR will be a very welcomed change, as I have always been a Star Wars fan. But, since it seems to have some pretty significant differences from the general WoW gaming model - which is why I am looking forward to jumping in - I wanted to get some thoughts on where/how I should start off to make sure it's an experience I will stick with. Basically, I'm looking for pointers on what makes for the best starting experience. Now, I know that the answer to that questions basically boils down to 'whatever you like to do...do it'. But, I'm hoping for a bit more insight into what the strengths of the game are when you're getting started - starting class suggestions, secondary activities that are fun (like fishing in WoW as an example), crafting info and tips, and even server suggestions. As for my general background and interests when it comes to MMOs, I am a casual player most of the time. I am not a hardcore raider, but when I have time I can hold my own in a 10/25 man. I tend to lean more toward glass cannon casters, but I usually find something to like about every class. I am not huge into PvP usually. However, most of that is due to the way that WoW PvP works...I just haven't ever been able to get into it. I do like the idea of a PvP server, but again, WoW sort of turned me away from them because of how they work - though that's not necessarily a WoW thing. It's more the idea of being stuck with having a need to be in a zone that is full of high level toons waiting to jump a lowbie. I have a weakness for collecting in MMOs - pets, mounts, etc. But, I think that's something most MMO fans get into on some level. In that same vein, I get into gathering and side questing. Anything that takes some effort in creating or collecting, I probably feel like I have to have it. It's a sickness. So, what suggestions would you guys have for me?
