  1. Well, eso (imo only)won't be fully launched until the second half of the year. I'll be going to that too, because, well,i grew up on the elder scrolls, love everything about the lore and the games, and it won't be a game with 200 abilities having to be key binded Think your own reasoning is a bit weird though,i mean if you brought up repetitive endgame grind/lack of endgame fun content or only having small incremental increases in gear stats and on and on,i would understand that. Also, reckon you're a tad early to be posting your loyalty switch
  2. Jumping isn't very precise in this game that's for sure. AND i was feeling like the op seems too, when i spent 2 hours trying to get that damn tatooine one on the rooftops, but then again there were 2 other guys there which made time fly, hilarious stuff when we all failed one after the other over and over again, taunting each other. Finally bit the bullet and watched a youtube vid to see where my placement on the jumps was going wrong, then got it after 2 tries. Yeah but honestly, sometimes you'll hit jump and your guy just runs forward and steps off the edge, other times someone will fight on screen JUST as you begin your jump and you'll get a momentary fps drop(can't believe how often that seems to happen to me actually),causing the jump to bugger up,and more rarely you'll jump and go flying much farther forward than you should, overshooting the jump completely.
  3. Agreed actually, the missions were hard, but once completed i have no trouble completing them over and over again now...but yes,the turns do make me feel uncomfortable, sometimes my eyes sort of,lose focus i guess, only way i can describe that, when zipping left and right through the asteroids. Few times i quit the missions because i was getting a dull ache behind my eyes during this...was not from playing too long,i've only had this ache during those missions.
  4. I've levelled 4 toons now with cyber/armourmech/bio and one other with all gathering skills. Although for me those 3 are very usefull at gearing my toons up until they hit 50,they don't make me much money with the finished product(considering the extra time to make the products that sell)if i'm not making anything to wear myself,i find it easier, quicker, less of a hassel and more profitable to just sell my materials. Bugs me that most items materials equal up to the price of the finished product, really does make the end action of crafting worthless. In saying that,i do make a minor profit from selling lower level purples and augmentations(when i can be bothered to craft them) I don't raid(cause of the fps issues i have) so i have no chance of aquiring those schematics or items that can allow me to learn the top items of each profession,so i can't say if that's profitable
  5. Shared account storage.I'd pay for that. A new legacy unlock but you'd have to pay cartel coins, option to turn bound items into legacy bound items Character transfers.

    Importance of PVP

In all other games pvp has been the biggest motivator for me. This WOULD hold true for this game also, but it seems if any amount of players are on my screen my fps goes south and it's like playing through treacle,so if they ever get on top of this issue i'll be sticking around,if not i will leave. The pve only lasts so long before the repetitive nature of it wears you out.
  7. Op,your experience i have known many times over different games,it is why i only ever venture into non solo content if i make friends on the way.I will rarely bother with experienced players actually,i try to either bring friends i gained from other games into the newest one i play,or make friends with other new players. Game is much more fun and less stressfull if you're all learning together, and everyone is more forgiving of each others mistakes.Get to know the other new comers(not that hard to spot them:p )Find a guild of newer players etc.
  8. Lol,think you got that a little wrong, fox accusing the liberals of war on xmas Great vid, will be watching any future ones, these guys are spot on.Found the comments on longevity from 26 mins onwards to make perfect sense.
  9. I'm still fairly new but already got 2 50s and am running the dailys to up my gear,it's incredibly boring and doesn't hold my attention long each day,i can complete one set then log off. So i agree with the whole space thing, with off the rails space combat with other players and exploration and more customisation of your ship, this game would really open up,i think that's the one thing that'd be guaranteed to add a whole new bag of fun and give it a great big slice of longevity. Thing is though,i wonder if that is too late, something this big should have been with a game at launch, can you really add content that large to an already existing game, with EA behind it =/
  10. Well i have 6months game time left on my account but i feel the same way as the op. The restrictions on ftp are just silly and turn more potential customers away than it attracts, and it doesn't enrich the community, the market and the population of the game world as a whole. There are some ftp games that get it right, and many that get it wrong, this is in the many category.Course that's just my opinion. (although removing subbing altogether is not something i'd like, you just need to tweak the subbing bonuses, give subbers benefits over ftp players other than restricing ftp from so much of the game,by saying game i'm including all the chat stuff, passes, custimizations etc etc)
  11. Zones not too big for me,just the player base is too small.Running a new alt every week only goes so far as to disguise that fact.
  12. I just came from another free to play game(and played quite a few more before that) This games treatment of free players is rather barbaric. In my own experience,i've tried getting a large group of friends from my previous game who i teamspeak with to play this game with me,i came first and subbed, and managed to get 9 of them to cross over in the last week. The problem is,there are so many restrictions on free to play that all of them have just gotten fed up and left before dropping any money.Class story wasn't their motivation,it was pvp and group content.Simple stuff like head gear not being able to be hidden, and the petty chat restrictions was the first thing that annoyed them. Then seeing the limited pvp and ops/fps.These guys all would have subbed eventually if they'd been given more freedom to enjoy these facets of the game,i know for a fact.Instead, there was nine potential subbers gone right off the bat,and i'm probably going to join them as i've no wish to go about the hassel of making new friends and getting into a guild that does all of this. Now by all accounts i've heard this game has a player retention problem,i wonder why?just think how many more potentials are just upping and leaving because of all these restrictions. Also cutting off free players from all the stuff that affects the economy is a lose for them and the subbers. I've seen this mentioned before, but as someone who played lotro for a long time,i think bioware really needs to look at that games ftp model more closely, imo it is a standout example of how to do it right. I read this article, and i think it shows the problems with biowares implementation of their ftp model perfectly. http://tor.zam.com/story.html?story=31195 the comments posted after also make good reading. As for the whole alt thing. If alt creation and levelling is so encouraged by this game(and i think part of that reason is because so few ftp are choosing to stick around and it's a clever way of disguising the low player numbers)why oh why is there no shared storage? It's 2012 for gods sakes, every mmo worth their salt that encourages alts have this feature.Using a redundant mail system is a major irritant for me at best! You can put it through legacy system, charge a crazy price.Guild bank isn't a good solution for many. You can see my suggestions if you read into my words a little, but in a nutshell, shared storage on a server, and lifting of some content restrictions and the chat restrictions on free to play. I know the argument that subbers feel they have to get what they pay for,and a lot of them like seeing ftp treated like 3rd class citizens, but think of the future of the game,i doubt very much tor is going to grow and remain healthy in its current form. The article i linked too explains this much more eloquently than i could. It's a shame,i rather like the game, but damn...did you have to scare all my friends away:(
  13. Compensation would be much appreciated. Had my minx bounty hunter suggestively dancing on a cantina table, pretty sure some nerd sith in training pants was about to drop 50 credits down my thong.
  14. If it was a german language based game i wouldn't play it,simples. BUT,if i really wanted to play a game not in my native tongue?I'd at least learn the basics. Anyway,i think they could translate the text/subs at the least, itd be a good compromise in the shorter term, set up the russian servers (a must imo, like previous posters here i've had very bad experiences with large russian communities in other english language based games where no servers were provided for them, hostile and divided the servers became) to see if it takes off,if so,then think about the voice acting.
