  1. as always, nearly every run could get a mention but two recently have stuck out.. depths of manaan.. get zoned into an in progress run, and as expected they're at ortuno. its a 4 dps group - sorc op merc and myself the PT, so I assume my usual position as meat shield and tell group to watch koltos for me. that didn't happen, so I die running trying to get to a kolto on time. operative throws me a rez, but this time I pay a little bit more attention to the heals I'm receiving. none. no koltos, no off heals. so naturally I melt and we wipe. the merc then gets on my back calling me an idiot and then leaves (I tend to tank him as if I'm in tank gear, keeping him in one spot as to mitigate lighting puddles area dmg). I get a message from this merc again reminding me of just how stupid I am. I decide to respond to them mentioning that no koltos were clicked, and no one was bothering to off heal me, and not even a tank would have stayed up in those conditions, and that if even a smidge of awareness was on show by the 3 dps with healing capabilities that we would have been fine. I hit send and what do you know, they ignored me. lol. so I jump on to an alt and send them a more blunt, more passive aggressive message and leave it at that. the other was the foundry, we zone in and its a 40 something merc healer, a 15 mara, a 50ish pt dps and my 70 pt dps. the mara apologises for the low level, in hindsight I should have realised what that really meant. on our way to the first boss the mara asks if we're doing bonus, and i say no (the foundry is long enough as is). we get to the first boss, the mara doesn't move from under the droid and melts, and the other pt is down to 3% by the time he gets out. we down him, and my 3 group members all chat in awe of what just happened and how quick the mara melted. at this point I think to check achievements, and what do you know, none of them have ran the foundry, yet no one felt the need to mention it. we get to HK, and I stay silent about mechs, because as far as I know everyone knows the mechanics. right on que, both the PT and mara don't get out of the core in time and instadeath. at this point, not wanting to waste my own time I speak up and tell them mechs and the fight goes well. once we get to the planet surface, I notice that ive left the group behind and theyre in combat, I don't bother going back because the weak slugs burn easy. the combat icon disappears and I expect the run to continue. nope. the 3 newbies are doing the bonus! the healer asks me *** I'm doing...so again, to avoid wasting time and repair costs I run back and burn the boss. I ask why they did the boss after I said id rather not, and the healer said he didn't see that... interesting... rest of the way went about as smoothly as I could have hoped for, dps jump in on the mini boss as I'm asking if they wanted it... I explain revan mechs and the pt still manages to die on aoes. we clear boss and get through the cutscenes, as I'm zoning out I mention that it really goes a long way to speak up and say if youre new, "less wipes less annoying" (because at this point I was annoyed). its not that hard to speak up, yet no one ever does... I'm starting to think I should only pug on my healers
  2. the tank definitely had at least one dog on him as well, being the first 10 seconds of the battle there wasn't much to be done, the dps soon got comfy in the middle of the arena. it just irks me that people decide to go and yell at everyone mid fight rather then just bare through it and adjust, if they're so good it shouldn't be a problem. Its really quite a simple fight, with dps having guard/taunts, I mean I end up tanking the boss 3/4 of the time and that's on my healer (wish I had a taunt to get him back after stun), you just need to have a bit of awareness to whats going on. hmm... that fight reminds me of ortuno in depths of manaan. this makes sense, when I'm tank/healing him I tend to just kite him away from the general direction of the dogs, as most of the time dps run away from them. I've just given up telling people how to properly do things, just not worth the effort mid FP
  3. which is why I told the tank to move away. tank just needs to keep away from the rest of the group/dogs, wherever that may be in the room
  4. so after spending the last couple of days learning to tank I switched back to my mando heals for the dailies. Tactical Mando Raiders popped and all was well, we even had a tank so the only annoying part of that fp (first boss) would be a breeze! nope. we make our way to the first boss, with the tank deciding to los a mob that doesn't really need to be los (silvers in the small corridor) and then charges in on the big pack of silvers before the boss that most groups los. didn't matter to me though as its just a tact. tank jumps in and pulls the boss, all is good it seems. but they don't move an inch, and the dogs then proceed to jump on the tank. the tank writes out: "move dogs away from boss" to which I replied "move boss away from dogs, dogs have random aggro", we had at least one mdps, so it would have been easier for the tank to move away from dogs, right? nope. tank stays there, and says "are you really going to tell me how to tank this fp?" which I wasn't, and then they add "everyone knows that you tank the boss right here in this corner" (they hadn't pulled the boss an inch from where he spawned). then finally, after losing aggro of the boss says "l2p before getting on my back" - as if I was being rude - and leaves group, and throws me on ignore just for good measure. so like I said, I only recently started to learn how to tank, so I'm not 100% sure on where boss should be placed, and the second boss of that fp has me avoiding that fp as a tank.... but this tank didn't even move the boss...now I really don't care if it is what people do on that boss or not... but even if it is correct, its really not that hard just to move the boss away from the rest of the dps, even for a couple of seconds til dogs switch aggro.
  5. when you say spread around him I'm not sure how close you mean, but these guys were like, near the koltos spread, which meant the adds were all over the place. but yeah, in tacticals (and hm tbh) its just quicker and easier to stack on wookie, keeping adds and boss together. the damage output of wookie/adds isn't worth spreading. also with xander... its fine to dps him sure, and yeah people can just jump away to traps, but like I said, they were paying no attention to the traps and ques, choosing to just burn xander down. in a tactical this would be the right thing to do but you cant do that in hm.
  6. 2 very interesting cademimu runs today... first to pop was HM, with shadow tank, sentinel dps, commando dps and myself healing. we zone in and the tank mentions that its been a while, so he may need the mechs explained to him, but hey its cademimu we should be fine. the run to the first boss was a mess. the tank threw guard on me, whilst the dps melted because they were pulling agro. I remove guard from myself but he just throws it back on me, but seeing as we hadn't wiped I figured id just leave it. we get to the first boss, and I explain that we need to trap the droid and burn, pointing out where the traps will most likely spawn and that it should be our #1 priority. so what do the tank and mdps do?? they jump straight on the officer, and proceed to keep attacking them even when they get the droid on them. wipe. run back, I try to mention that if we don't trap the droid that we will wipe, but mr tank decided to leap straight back in at the officer. the commando tries to do the right thing when the droid comes after him, but decided to run into the prison rather than around it. I manage to barely keep him up but he goes down short after, as the droid has now turned to the tank who is still chugging away at the boss. wipe again. I tell the commando that he has to go around, and say again that if we don't get the droid trapped we're wasting our time. this time I manage to get the droid trapped, but the officer has our melee dps in his sights and they were too far away from me to be able to heal so he goes down. with the droid trapped I begin to throw a bit of dps at him, someone had to, as the other dps all focus the officer. Then they killed the officer....so the droid proceeds to enrage and we wipe. I type again, that we need to kill the droid first, this prompts the sent to say that he "was just following the tank", which the tank responded with "the dps is **** that's the real problem"...then quit the group without a word, which didn't bother me at all. we reque, get a tank who knows what theyre doing, but something else odd happened.. the sent ran into the trap again and died, I go to res him but he says "you will have better luck with a good dps I will leave", so he quit.. mid fight.... anyway, we beat the boss and proceed to clear the rest of the FP without a hitch. if you don't want to follow mechanics stick to tacticals. second run was a tactical; 3 dps and myself, or so I thought. we get to the last mob before the first boss when I notice that the commando qued as dps is throwing out kolto bombs... a healer spec ability. I point this out to them to which they respond, "yeah I que as dps and heals". now I have no problem with people who do this, as long as they respect according to whatever they get grouped as. the commando then proceeds to tell me that theres no need and that they can dps just fine as heal spec, so they wont respec. so I stop healing them, if they want to stay in heal spec they can heal themselves. as you can imagine, things were slow to say the least...to make things worse, it was quite clear that the other dps were unfamiliar with the FP, as they were all spread out on the wookie, even after I told them to stack, running all over the place when adds came there way. as we're on our way to the final boss, they quit the group without a word, so we just attempt to take the boss with a dps comp. I end up being the only one left standing with boss around 25%, so I say screw it and decided to save some repair costs and down him myself.
  7. long time reader, first time poster. so I'm running through tacticals on my newish commando healer, because I figure I owe it to other people i get grouped with to have some good practise of different healing situations before i go into HM's. side note, mando/merc heals are so much more fun than op/scound heals. maelstrom prison pops, and its 3 dps and i; a 70 shadow, 50 sent, 70 commando and myself. as with all tacts it should be a breeze if people are semi-competent. the first half of this FP was super interesting. we get through the first boss, and are on our way to mr lazer eyes, when the commando pikes up and says "there's 2 people in this group with taunts why am i getting all the aggro and damage???" i point out that no one has queued as a tank, so unless its really needed - which it wasn't - then there was no need for them to throw out random taunts. i also mention that they didn't have to accept the pop if they weren't willing to facetank. silence. oh by the way, this commando was using his reflect-absorb-heal God bubble at 70%!!! we get to the second boss and our 2 jedi drop dead pretty quick, i rez the shadow but he goes down almost as soon as he gets up ( he may have been going to stealth rez other guy or hit kolto I'm not sure). so its just the dps-not-tank-EVER mando and i up to take him down. i thought to myself, it may take a while, but this guy is easy enough to chip away at. surely enough we down him and i say to the mando "see, you can face tank just fine" to which they reply "yeah and it sucks" as if face tanking changes anything in your rotation?? (save the odd dcd if needed, which again, they really weren't). so i figure the rest of the FP may drag on a little, but clearly we'll be alright. we arrive at the darth with the goat voice acting - new to pub side so names elude me here - and i notice that the mando is not with us, lagging behind i assumed. but no, our friend the mando has gone back to the fleet! without a word, then proceeds to drop group and throw me on ignore... anyway, we reque, get a 19 sent and the rest of the FP is a cakewalk. now ive had plenty of frustrating groups before, but this one just struck me as odd, like seriously, if you're not willing to facetank a TACTICAL as a dps (that is more than capable of doing so) then please don't take pops without a tank, and if you do, don't have a go at the other dps's for not pulling aggro off of you when there is absolutely no reason to.
