  1. I think you should reevaluate your priorities...
  2. I didn't care for the entire companion mechanic but if I had to choose a favorite it would be Blizz.
  3. I don't even play SWTOR anymore and I disagree with the OP. I hate F2P games and will not play them. LOTRO didn't go F2P until they were somewhere south of 200k subs. SWTOR isn't in that kind of trouble yet.
  4. My dislike of the game started when I leveled my first character to 50 and experienced end game. He was geared within 2 weeks with all content cleared. I then leveled alts and participated in low-level pvp to keep interested, which was great fun. I stopped playing just a few days before patch 1.2 was released and have logged in only twice since then for a combined total of 20 minutes of playtime. I have many issues with this game and the general design was just not what I expected or desired. The game mechanics that BW chose to implement were just not appealing to me. I have no issue with others that like/enjoy it, but it's not for me.
  5. Semantics aside you clearly understand the spirit of my post. I stand by my assessment at the top of page 5. BW failed to deliver on quite a few things they have said they would. I have nothing against people who still like this game, my issue is with BW and doesn't require you to agree with me. Your perception is obviously different of the state of the game than mine.
  6. When BW fails to deliver promised content of 1.3 they may change their minds. I have zero confidence in BW after experiencing this game.
  7. Yep, an all too common issue my friend. I think this game is in more trouble than they let on. My server population has dropped from about 250 at fleet during peak times to about 30 to 50 at peak times. They keep on quoting subscription numbers but I would be very interested to see just how many of those "subscribers" are actually logging in to the game on a regular basis. THAT is the important statistic imo.
  8. I"ve been on these forums for 2 years before the OP signed up. I have traditionally been a huge supporter of SWTOR (past tense) and campaigned hard to get my friends to play. All but 2 friends have cancelled their subs, and out of those 2 they play for a combined 10 to 20 hours a week which consist of operations and that's about it. I played SWTOR up until 2 months ago and just cancelled my sub this week. I generally agree with the OP in that people that read/post on the forums are the players that truly are passionate about the game, as I was. I still post on the forums but I am no longer a supporter of this game. BW has continuously made and broken promises to the players. There are persistent bugs that have existed since beta. They aren't minor bugs either, they are end-game content bugs that cause wipes, wasted time and wasted in-game money. Bugs like that are a serious issue for players like myself that have very limited play time availability. The game has been live for over 5 months now and Ilum remains a disaster in which I was very disappointed. Patch 1.2 didn't cause the kind of game saving response they would have liked and rightfully so, there was nothing released that would keep anyone interested for longer than 2 weeks. The 100% VO is tremendously overrated and actually limits content due to the cost and time required to develop. I could list more but this is already long enough. If the OP and others posting in this thread still like the game then good for you, glad it's everything you want it to be. It's not my cup of tea.
  9. Allow me to elaborate. What I would've liked to see was a more balanced approach to VO. Have the class quests 100% VO and all other quests text based. That would have freed up some resources to apply to other, more important content.
  10. I submit that 100% voice over killed this game before it was ever released. It was supposed to be innovative and remarkable. It ended up being a huge waste of time and money, time and money that was taken away from further development that really matters to the MMO player.
  11. I agree, if it was implemented 2 months ago. Now the server population is so low it will hardly matter.
  12. Liked (past tense) -Initially liked the class story line. -Low level pvp pre 1.2 -Can't think of a 3rd thing Dislike -100% VO, a balanced approach is better imo. -Ilum, huge disappointment. -crafting -companions, all useless except for one of them you use all the time. -major bugs/issues not being fixed -many other things that I really don't feel like listing.
  13. I disagree. Their LFG tool will fail miserably if it's not cross-server. How can it work effectively when there are 6 people at fleet who are actually looking for a group and none of them are a healer? The benefit of cross-server LFG is the increased player pool to draw from. With player activity dropping off to next to nothing I think you'll find this will fail as proposed.
  14. I have no issue with the lack of a "dungeon finder" feature in SWTOR, in fact I wish they wouldn't implement it. It's not going to be cross-server so it will fail like most decisions they have made. The problem with groups in SWTOR is the group size itself of 4. It should be 5 or 6. A group size of 4 really screws up the ratio between tanks/healers and dps. The day BW decided on a group size of 4 in lieu of larger groups they killed the game.
  15. The choices matter? You're joking right? They may change some dialogue options in a couple conversations down the road and that's about it. All of the story elements continue as planned and the choices don't change your characters course one bit. There may be a different outcome but ultimately the VO and story elements were completely underwhelming when it's all said and done, especially if you go through it a second time. BW banked on VO and story and lost big imo. I bet the subs lost are far worse than they're reporting. Just look at the percentage drop on your fleet and extrapolate from there. My server used to have 240 - 250 at peak times. Now there are 30 - 50 at peak times. Most, if not all, of the servers are experiencing this dramatic drop in activity. I think the important metric should be players who are LOGGING IN. I bet that would tell a much different story and shed light on just how much trouble this game is really in.
  16. I tried really hard to like this game. I made alt after alt and wasted a few months playing when deep down I knew the game didn't have legs. I finally admitted it to myself and cancelled my sub a few days ago. Someone above me was saying the questions they ask in their cancellation survey show that they know why people are leaving, I tend to agree with that statement. Yet they do nothing to fix it. Even when they say they fixed something, it's not really fixed most of the time. BioWare was wrong, plain and simple. They decided to make the game a certain way and everything looked great on paper. Unfortunately their formula for a MMO is not working. I could go on and on about what I don't like about the game but I won't. Suffice to say that I dislike almost every game mechanic they have implemented.
  17. This is an easy one. Bioware focused it's time and money on things that ultimately doesn't matter to the majority of MMO gamers so they all left.
  18. I completely agree. The knockback/stun in this game is crazy. Resolve is a joke as well. What should be in place is diminishing returns or a short immunity after a stun or knockback of maybe 4 seconds or so.
  19. I would like that too but guess what. The 100% voice over will prevent them from making the leveling curve steeper. Increased time to level means increased number of quests and increased amount of voice over and increased amount of money to develop and so on. BW shot themselves in the foot with 100% VO imo.
  20. You shouldn't be. People are leaving this game quickly and with good reason.
  21. Cancel your sub as fast as possible so this game can go away. Then a few years down the road some other developer can give it a go and make something worth playing using the Star Wars moniker. I already cancelled my sub for SWTOR and haven't logged in for over 6 weeks. Don't miss it one bit. I'm downloading The Secret World beta as I write this. TSW looks amazing and truly different, unlike SWTOR. You guys should check it out. Note, I really wanted to love this game. I've been following it for a long time and tried really hard to like it. Unfortunately it turned out to be a buggy, underdeveloped, over-hyped mess.
  22. I stopped logging into SWTOR about 6 and a half weeks ago. I don't miss it one bit. Reasons I left the game are these: 1. Didn't like the core group size of 4. I think this really screws up the ratio of tanks/healers vs. dps. Group size of 5 or 6 just makes more sense with regards to the player role ratio. 2. Didn't like 100% voice over. I think a balanced approach is better. I would've liked to see the class quests only voiced over, the rest be text only. Then maybe some of the development money wasted there would've been put to better use. 3. Ilum. Huge disappointment and anything but what they touted it to be. Also we're 5 months after release and it's still not fixed. 4. End game was boring and far too easy. Too easy to get gear and blow through the end game content. 5. Crafting and companions. Didn't care for the companion system. I would rather farm materials personally than send out companions and sit around and be bored. Then after waiting, they return without what you needed anyway. Companions, all useless except one that you use all the time seems like a waste to me but necessary because of the crafting system. 6. Classes. Not enough of them. Say what you want about ACs, they are still the base class with the exact same class quests. There are more reasons but I'll stop there, this is too long already. In short I really didn't care for most aspects of this game. I had high hopes for the game and was initially satisfied, until I reached level 50. After 2 weeks at level 50 I was geared enough to satisfy me, a mixture of Rakata and Columi. After that I was forced to create alts to keep interested, especially in low-level pvp which was the only reason I was playing. Now I"m told that patch 1.2 ruined low-level pvp (I have not played since before 1.2 so cannot confirm or deny) by friends who still play a small amount. I think they could have had a great game but instead were held back due to investing too much time and money to things that looked good on paper but the reality was quite underwhelming.
  23. I have to be honest. I like the fact my Twi'lek consular doesn't look like everyone else. All of the headgear in this game looks ridiculous anyway so my consular looks better without imo.
