  1. At this point I'm not sure if you're trolling or not. I don't care about *your* CXP progression. I don't care if *my* CXP progression is faster than *yours*. I care that whatever content one chooses to enjoy in the game should feel appropriately rewarding to respective players, be it raiders, solo'ers, PvP'ers. If that's "elitist", so be it. Agree to disagree. Signing off.
  2. Want is irrelevant. Want AND the ability to pay for it is relevant. Economics 101. Everyone wants better gear. But are you willing and able to "pay" for it by overcoming harder content? Or by simply spending more time grinding? If you will do neither, then I'm sorry to say your want is irrelevant.
  3. Read again. And I'm saying this the last time. I made the argument that clearing harder content such as HM/NiM Ops should be "worth" - if you really like that word- more than clearing H2's in terms of getting gear as a reward, just because it's harder. Worth is subjective. Difficulty parity between HM/NiM Ops and H2's is objective. Harder content requires more time - and effort attached to that time - and thus should reward more. Simple as that. In case you started harping on "contribution" and "worth" coz you were confused by the example I provided, my mistake, let me clarify: In life, we're paid for the value our work provide, value *mostly* corresponding to job difficulty and effort required. In game, we're rewarded for clearing content based on difficulty and effort required. In both cases, higher difficulty, more effort, more reward, even if same time spent in execution. That was my point. It had nothing to do with subjective "worth" and "contribution" in the game. You may not believe I might have spent as much if not more time and money on dressing up my characters as you have (and I too am not ashamed to admit). But I don't expect to get GEAR for dressing up my toons. Are you saying you are? I have never considered how much my effort doing that is "worth" to the game; all I know is it's worth to me and that's why I did it. I enjoyed it, and the reward is the experience itself and my good-looking and in-character toons. So no, gear is not the only reward left. If it is, you should take a break from this game. As for needing gear for Master mode, sure I hope there'd be a faster way for pure solo'ers to get gear at a rate appropriate to content difficulty. But the point still stands: 4 hours of H2's is not equivalent to 4 hours of harder content, be it grouped or solo.
  4. Honestly, I don't think I can come up with a percentage in terms of time. It'd be easier (for me) to approach the question based on what I feel is reasonably rewarding to players clearing different content. For example, in 4.0 final bosses in tactical FPs dropped moddable, unoptimized purple 208's, and each FP rewards commendations which could be used to exchange for the same level of 208's. I was perfectly fine with that. There was a sense of progression, and reward proportional to effort in each run. A fully augmented, unoptimized 208 set made all casual content a breeze, and I would've been happy to stay there gear-wise and enjoy the rest of casual content the game has to offer be it heroics, FPs, or even RP (gear can be part of character immersion ). Then I started doing SM Ops and the notoriously easier HMs with guildies (we're a casual guild), at first for the story, the raid experience, and then for gear. In general, 5 out of 8 people get optimized gear, the rest get 1-2 DMC's - which still was pretty nice coz roughly two DMC's = one 216 crafted gear, which was superior to comms gear. In short, everyone gets something out of the run. It's proportional, it's rewarding, it makes sense. (Except maybe for HM EV and KP, and I wouldn't have minded had they dropped sub-par gear e.g. 218's) Had I remained strictly a solo/ tacticals player without dabbling in Ops, I would never ask for more than 208's. Would I want more? Set bonus? Of course. Better gear means clearing casual content even faster, what's not to like? But would I have earned it? No. I'd already been aptly rewarded for the activities I partook in. More would be a bonus, pretty much what the current RNG system should be, IMO. If I wanted better gear, I'd have to do harder content. If I do harder content, a reward proportional to effort is expected. It's that simple really. Perhaps grouped or solo isn't even the real question here, as we all know SM Ops are relatively easy with bolster while certain veteran chapters are known to be quite a challenge. But then, Ops, even SM Ops, require team effort and coordination, and that should be taken into account and rewarded too in addition to content difficulty. Sorry if I can't provide a more simple and straightforward answer, but happy to share my opinion anyway.
  5. First off, disclaimer: I'm by no means what you would classify as an "elitist raider". Before 5.0 I only did SM Ops when my guildies happened to be online. I mostly play solo and casual group content such as FPs. Now I no longer run Ops. Never did I suggest that my contribution or any group of players' contribution to the game as a whole is greater than yours. (And though that's beside the point, many so-called raiders have spent a lot of time and money on outfits and vanity stuff as well. More than a few are avid RP'ers.) I was specifically referring to getting gear, and this: Unless you're suggesting that 4 hours of RP, or 4 hours of writing elaborate backstories, should yield CXP and gear as well? "Contribution" to the game as a whole is one thing. Gear as a reward for clearing content (and time and effort spent to clear said content) is another. Apple and oranges. It is not arrogance to claim clearing HM/NiM Ops requires more time and effort than clearing heroics. It's objectivity. Arrogance is more like your first post in this thread, telling the OP to "suck it up" when s/he had shared opinion and made suggestions civilly. Excuse me if I refrain from replying further.
  6. Except that they aren't equal and the rewards or rate of rewards shouldn't be equal. You're delusional if you seriously think 4 hours of heroics = 4 hours of "any other content" including HM and NiM Ops. It should go without saying but just in case since it seems you have no idea: you can breeze through heroics with one eye shut spamming basic attack; Ops? Good luck killing that boss without reading up on guides about mechanics, coordination with teammates, sorting out your rotation to maximize dps to pass dps checks. 4 hours of execution is only in addition to the time and effort spent to make that happen. You want that nice fast car? Who doesn't. Get a high-pay job which requires effort and commitment to get it faster, or an easy, low-pay job to get it slower, or not at all. You're rewarded for the *value* of your time, not just time. And even though you said you edited your first post, it still comes off as unnecessarily disrespectful. The OP provided suggestions in a civil, constructive manner. He left, he still wanted to contribute and give suggestion - that's good, most people would have left already in silence. If you can't stand these posts, don't read them, or read then ignore. Better yet, read and try to understand there're people with different, legitimate opinions. But if that's hard, sometimes life is as easy as clicking "Back" and move on.
  7. It's datamined information so I can't post it here, but if you look at the comments section of Dulfy's page, you'll see that it's more likely than not that the upper set is Titan for Legendary tier while the lower set is Trailblazer for Eternal tier. Also, if you compare the concept art and the upper picture you can see they are really not the same, e.g. bulky shoulder pads, gloves and that the chest armor flaps from under the belt like a flimsy shirt. The concept art is really a combination of the two - a good one, and one I and others thought we're gonna get for completing Eternal tier. P.S. Actually, I'm not even sure if I can post about it here linking Dulfy. But I hope this gets at least some attention as it deserves.
  8. So, maybe I am one of the few who care about this, but here it goes. The Victorious Trailblazer set was and still is being advertised as one of the rewards for the Champion tier of the DvL event on the official website. This picture, supposedly the armor set, is displayed next to the list of rewards. Latest information from Dulfy reveals images of the DvL armors as linked here. The upper picture is supposed to be the Titan set, reward for completing the Legendary tier, while the lower picture the Trailblazer set. Now, the Trailblazer set is noticeably different from advertised. Specifically, the belt and the pocket attached to the chest have been "transplanted" to the Titan set. Some people might like the final product, some don't, like me. The point is, it is distinctly different from what is being advertised, and I can't help but feel disgruntled about it. I know it is a concept art and they don't always fully translate digitally due to technical limitations (like the helmet in this case, which, IMHO, is not the best render), but you could always tell it's the same armor - not in this case. It is obvious that the distinguishing details (belt and pocket) have been removed to make for a "better" reward for the Legendary tier. Ironically, it is not better with the bulky shoulder pads, gloves and the weird part of the chest that flaps from under the belt. I don't know if there is still possibility for change but since there is still time until the event ends, I hope there is, and that the devs will have a change of heart and commit to change it and give the armor (and customers) justice because if not, it reeks of false advertising.
  9. Maybe it was just a moment of passion? Most people have better judgment of this sort when they're not in imminent danger and are cool and calm relaxing in a cantina...unless they get drunk. Or do you want your potential boy/girlfriend nag you into confirming your relationship when you've just had a lightsaber in your gut?
  10. To be fair, before the option of "I need to see one of you" shows up, the cutscene focused on Koth, Lana and Theron. They bantered, all of them have had a chance to talk and some screen time. It was a back-and-forth kind of conversation among the group. The wheel before that even had the camera focus on all three of them and it was very clear the dialogue you, the player, delivers are directed toward the group. You look at all three of them, you say "Do you think I'm that dull?", and all three of them responded. Then Theron asks, "Are you gonna drink with US or not?" with the available answers being "Talk to ONE OF you." And if that's not enough, look at how that wheel is presented. Don't you find it strange, if the [Flirt] was just a generic flirt with Theron like any other we've had with any other character in the game, that 1) there are only two choices, not the usual three and 2) they are presented in the exact same wordings except the flag [Flirt]? And like I mentioned previously, even if you chose the non-flirt option, you're then presented with the choice of who to talk to - Koth, Lana, or Theron. At this point, if the exact same wordings of the previous two choices doesn't ring a bell that the [Flirt] option might be a chance to flirt with one of the three characters...I don't know what to tell you. I understand your frustration and why some people might mistake that as a flirt specific to Theron, but if one cares about dialogue and choices and relationships enough, s/he would mostly likely have hit "ESC" and redo the [Flirt] option, just to see where it leads. Sometimes we miss stuff, no big deal, and it's not always others' fault. If the romance has to be locked somewhere during the story, the cantina scene makes most sense with no imminent crisis and you're actually having a party and the first chance to relax and unwind since waking up from carbonite. Something is obviously gonna happen between you and your love interest. There is no better time to flirt and set things in stone.
  11. No, it's not picking the "[Flirt] I want to speak with one of you" option that "breaks" the romance, if that's what you're asking. You need to pick the [Flirt] option to talk to Lana, and then [flirt] again while in the room to have a pop-up confirm your romance in order to make it official.
  12. Did you make sure to have the warning regarding starting a relationship pop up during the cantina scene? I've just checked my toons who had just completed ch. 9 before the latest patch and their relationship status with either Lana/ Theron are intact.
  13. This. I learnt it the hard way, and in subsequent runs made sure not to leave chapter 9 hanging before a patch drops.
  14. Ah I see. The reason I said that was I was under the impression that the two options at the first wheel would lead to completely different conversation branches, and as non-flirt options should be available to players too, we would need 6 options in total in that wheel if one has flirted with all 3 characters. And last I checked, they do lead to slightly different conversation choices at the wheel where the flirt is supposed to happen in the room. Say for a player who chose to [Flirt]talk with Theron, s/he gets: 1) [Flirt] 2) I know. 3) Watch the new ones. Verses another player who chose the non-[Flirt]talk option previously who gets: 1) I know. 2) Watch the new ones. 3) You had better. So, if we do it like how you suggested, i.e., [Flirt]Talk followed by one flirt option and two non-flirt, we'd have to sacrifice one option, i.e. "You had better." This is relevant for players who have flirted with the characters during KotFE but then decide NOT to pursue the [Flirt]Talk option. In general, I always prefer if we players get to experience more conversation choices especially in this game where story is a focus. However, if it reduces confusion for a respectable portion of players, it might be worth it to have one less dialogue option. Personally, the first time I ran through this part I didn't have problem getting the romance I wanted.
  15. I thought the mere presence/ absence of [Flirt] was an obvious clue. Even if one thought the [Flirt] option was towards Theron, the non-flirt option goes on to require one to choose who to talk to, reinforcing the meaning of "one of" in the previous conversation choices. I would immediately hit ESC and redo the conversation. In that case, an insufferably flirtatious player who has been flirting with all three of them would need 6 conversation choices - flirt and non-flirt option with each of them - which unfortunately is not feasible in this game.
