  1. Yep, I am having the same issue. Only characters on starting planet are playable. Says downloading, but sits at 0 % and never moves.
  2. This is how I interpret it as well. I liken it to a katana (after all, aren't the Jedi's essentially space samurai?). Anyone can use a katana, but in feudal times, only a Samurai was trained in its use and they were the only ones allowed to carry one.
  3. Um, I am 42, so did grow up with the originals. Likely makes me worse in your eyes, but so be it. My point was that something that is clearly at varying levels within people, would, by definition, be measurable. May not go along with what the originals led us to believe, but it doesn't make it any less reasonable.
  4. I just have quick question to pose to the many people that hated the introduction of this concept in The Phantom Menace. Isn't it pretty much established that not everyone has "access" to the force and that people that do have an affinity for it are of varying strengths (i.e. "The force is strong with this one"). With that being the case, why is it so unreasonable that there would be a test to quantify that? I am not saying I like the concept necessarily, but it doesn't bother me nearly as much as it seems to bother a lot of other people. I get that it removes some of the "mysticism" of The Force, but it just seems to me being able to test it and quantify it shouldn't be all that shocking.
  5. This was a really interesting read. I will add some thoughts off my own. Regarding Finn: He was able to wield a lightsaber. So what? He was a trained fighter. The dude he fought with the energy thing clearly had training against a lightsaber, so isn't it possible, if not likely, he would have had similar training? Regarding Rey: She was able to pilot the Falcon. And? She was a pilot with clear mechanical skills. She had been it the ship before so was at least moderately familiar with it. Her ability to best Ren? How is it any different than Luke blocking drone blasts blinded by the blast shield after hearing about the force about 4 hours earlier? Or his ability to put the shots in the Death Star vent by using the force? Regarding Ren: As others have said, they made it a point (almost too much of a point) of the strength of Chewie's bowcaster. He took that shot in the gut. it is going to affect him. His ability to stop the blaster bolt and his ability to hand-to-hand fight aren't tied to each other. Just look at SWOTR. An inquisitor isn't as good with their blade as a marauder or juggernaut. They focus on different things. Also, I believe Abrams has come out and said that the 3 movies are as much about the becoming of a hero (Rey) as it is about the becoming of a villain (Ren). Regarding Death Star V 3.0: The first one blew up a planet killing billions. The second essentially wiped out an entire fleet. Why wouldn't they build another one (which destroyed a star system, by the way). Seems pretty effective to me. Everyone has their own opinion obviously, and are entitled to it, but most of the critiques are easily explained.
  6. I didn't see this in the RE guide so figured I would put it here. I know when I RE an item I have crafted I have a percentage chance to learn an upgraded version of that item. My questions is in regards to items that are dropped or you buy from the galactic market. If you RE one of these (where you don't already know how to make it) do you still have a percentage chance to learn this item or is it automatic that you will learn the item, considering it wouldn't be an improved version, but rather the "base" item itself. To test this, my artifice knight purchased a very basic color crystal that he didn't currently have the schematic to build. I RE'd this and learned the schematic on the first try. Was this just luck? I would obviously like to purchase some of the fancier colors (purple/cyan/etc) but as they are quite expensive I don't the ability to buy a number of them in hopes of learning. If I know I will learn it on the first go, however, I can swing that. thanks,
  7. I think what would make Telekinetic Throw more interesting would be if the effect was environment-specific. You're in the woods, then you would be throwing rocks and whatnot. In a city or on a ship, you would be throwing chunks of metal/nails/screws/bolts/etc. Seems odd that the Jedi would be throwing stones when fighting in a hangar bay. Probably very hard to code, but would be cool nonetheless.
  8. Yes, when you click reverse engineer and then hover over an item it shows either "20% Chance..." or "No further engineering...(or something)". It does make you aware.
  9. I seem to fall in line with a lot of other people on here. I will kill if needed, but my BH has more of a "warrior code" thing going on. I don't flip on my employers and don't make secondary deals. No killing just for bloodlust either. I think it makes the character more believable in that he isn't some sociopath.
  10. Sorry if this is listed somewhere but I haven't been able to find it. Is there a way to "respec" your skill trees or are you stuck with what you have selected? I see people reference trying different builds so imagine they are doing it. Are there requirements that must be met (like level, legacy level, etc)? I have a monthly subscription, if that matters. Thanks,
