1. Yup. I try to teach the noobs a little at a time but some ignore everything and try to play some kind of sologame in the flashpoints. 2. Yup tanks are supposed to tank the toughest mob while the DPS clean up the trash, every class in this game is tough enough to take some hits. I do expect everyone to know what to do unless they say something about not knowing. 3. That would be a control freak tank. People who have CC usually know how to use it, I never tell anyone to CC until it is an important fight and I dont see them putting up a CC mark. I would rather have the control freak as the people who just run in tend to get the group killed. 4. If you die wait for a rezz and you won't have to run back, if the whole group dies then wait for the group at the skip. Spacebar, yes I spacebar dialoge it is not very exciting and I have seen every flash point many times on my other characters but if you tell me you want to watch it then I have no problem. Some people will rage quit over not spacebarring. 5. My Commando (republic side merc) is a decent healer, keep the mobs off of me and you won't die. But you are right I gear for DPS but I respec for healing when I have that role in Flashpoints. 6. Yup 7. Speak up the first time they need on something they shouldn't. The second time wait to see there vote first and initiate a vote to kick if they need inappropiate again. 8. CC should always be an ability that keeps the mob out of the fight for 60 seconds. They will come to realise this now or later. Keep playing, the higher levels get better as people learn how to play.

Dont tell people you are new to MMO. DPS in flash points are to kill the weak (red) mobs first once those are dead assist the other dps to kill the standard (silver) mobs, then asist the tank with Champions (gold) or Boss (not sure how to describe that graphic kinda gold and silver star). Do a few fights first (showing the group you know the basics), then you can tell them that this is the first time running that particular Flashpoint and to give you a heads up on the important skips/boss tactics. Dont need on anything for your companion. Greed is for stuff to sell or companion gear.

Pick one side and max it out for the legacy perk. If you start a second character go to the other side and get the other Legacy perk.

Finish the class quest. If this is your first character deffinatly finish your companions and unlock the bonus perks. The extra presence from finishing the companions will definatly help you with your second character/alts.

Check the GTN to see what people are trying to sell them for on your server

My imperial characters are male My republic characters are female I get a few comments with the females and once in awhile I will get a little random help killing a mob.

The speeder you get from refering friends has great knockoff resistance and goes 110% with speeder pilot one. My alts dont event train piloting level 2

mouse over the heat bar it will tell you exactly how much you have accumulated.

Was the tank guarding the healer? Was the healer in range of the guard?

How is the roll weighted? Can I do anything to get more favorable rolls?

I would just concentrate on the class quest unless I need gear from the other quests.

To quickly progress in your PVE gear make sure you do the Daily mission in the supply section. The daily will give you extra credit, tionese and columi comendations. The columi vendors are right there in the supply section. Dont forget to do a Random hardmode from the Group finder. Some people will still complain about you being all tionese but they are very doable in tionese gear. Don't try lost iland until you get the hang of the tier 1 stuff.

Go for the presence. It helps allot while solo playing. Unlocking human (for the 100 presence) was the first major purchase I did in this game and did not regret it one bit, while saving up for my rocket boots Couple things you can do cheaply to check out the effects of presence ingame before spending the coins/credits on unlocking human. Presence stim. Make sure you do the comparison of Presence stim vs no stim at all Presence cocktails. These are sold in the Cantinas, not as powerful as a presence stim but it will get you closer to trying out 100 presence when combined with a Presence stim. I still keep some of the presence cocktails on me for solo play

Getting to lightside V will give you the legacy ability called Unity (reduces damage taken to both you and your companion for a short time) Darkside V will give you Sacrifice (damages your companion to heal you) These are legacy abilities so you just need one character to unlock them and all of your legacy on that server will have the ability. You could even go all Dark then go all light on one character like I did (takes a long time).

I like joining ops when they are almost finished. I get the comendaions from the daily so much faster that way

Everyone gets a grade 1 item when they are finishing up their class quest on the starter planet. The part of the quest that tries to teach us how to modify our weapon using the modification station. Grade 1 is definatly level 7 If you like the cosmetic look of your empty shells then go ahead and wear them on your level 1 toon, they will give small amount of armor stat that is better than level 1 stuff.

So this double exp weekend caught me by surprise while my guildmates already knew about it. Where are the upcoming events posted? I cant seam to find the announcement even after the fact.

Do you use multiple alphabets on your computer? I have had a problem when the computer will switch to my wifes native language alphabit just for password boxes. Must be something about hiding what is being typed. When this happens I would type the password into a different place and then copy past it into the password box.

Well it is either blaming you the tank or the healer for not healing them. New players tend to think that being DPS means they can do what ever they want and it is someone elses fault if it goes bad.
