  1. When GSF I played as with many others. But as things got OP on certain aspects I just lost interest. I've said a long time back that they need to make a PvE side or group missions. I remember the good ole days of Tie vs X-Wing. Having something like convoy escort, bombing runs, and even attacking capitol ships was fun. But just having so few maps, snipers just sitting and nailing you from distance gets real old. A limit on snipers, and a bit more focus on the dog fighting end of PvP might bring a few players back.
  2. After buying a direct sale item "IE Weapon lightening tuning", I see that I cannot add it to my legacy collection. So I contacted support as to why this is so. to summarize " Direct sale items are 1 per toon" If one is going to spend XXX amount for said item, especially a direct sale item a player should at least be able to add to it your collection. Not have to spend XXXXX dollars per toon use the item on the same account. I'm a little peeved on this. Once you have it in your collection it is bound anyway, and cannot be sold on the GTN. This experience left me a bit peeved.
  3. I remember in the good ole days we had a game called Xwing vs. Tie fighter. I can see some elements of that being incorporated in a manner and style of that game. You had bombing runs, defend the shuttle, PvP, and some other things mission wise to do. I like GSF in it own right. Here it comes................But there has to be some rebalancing of ship classes. If, and a big if this along with many of the other ideas in this forum would greatly pick up on a small section of the game play.
  4. So I've played a few matches since patch, and as with most I'm not impressed. (Yes this is a gripe post) 1. My strike fighter (Imp Side) handles like pancake batter. They sorta kinda had it right in previous patch or two ago. Now it's just cannon fodder. lol Next time I'll just fly a bowl of soup..lol it'll handle better 2. Gunships, I still see them getting to many shots off to quickly, without some sort of greater energy penalty between shots. (personally never did like them, but to each their own) And at times still see teams with over half the makeup of ships as snipers. 3. Bombers, ok.... I played last night, I guess it was a premade type platform Bomber, this thing was hard to kill, took little damage, and it went on the offensive. I thought they were going to be a support role not a tank. I do give the pilot +5 for skill but for the love of all things righteous. At this point I loved the idea when GSF came out, but the whole scheme has somehow become an after thought. I think I'll give it a break for a while and see what comes of it.
  5. I have a Quell in my list of ships. I thought ok I have an EMP missile option to clear out those (lack of a better term) Damn blessed annoying drones and mines now introduced into Starfighter. My thinking was ok, I've got a ship with somewhat decent shields, fair laser power, and missiles. Boy I was WRONG! I'm looking at it from the point how can a "Ranged" craft be effective in clearing mines and drones be a help to their team with a EMP missile effective range of 7500m? Now, before my Flamming begins: How does one clear a mine/drone field without having to get danger close? I'm finding out a myself cannot do it, without loosing his craft. I've tried several different ways, strafe, hit and run, etc, and a majority of the time I'm going down in flames. One would think that the Dev's allowing for a team effort in clearing such annoyances would allow for 10,000m as with the proton torp. Then a gradual reward for finishing the line. Bottom line for this player I'm finding it lacking in an effective role at the moment as a support/clearing fighter. Any insight would be appreciated.
  6. I'm saying a more balanced play, and what I'm seeing, is not balanced. I'm all for if your a damn good player hey have at it, but to see guys/gals in Gs with 12+ kill and dominating the kill scene, in a mode, makes one wonder if the SF thing is ever going to be "balanced".
  7. So the new patch came out, and my thoughts on Gunships. They still wipe out a ship in 1 shot. They still get out shots in sniper mode a bit to quick. I get the point a fully upgraded gunship can do things to a ship that are hateful, but come on it is getting a bit aggregating to see 4-5 gunship line a breast in these new maps just eating up starfighters without having a single chance to engage. (Yes I've read the how-to manual written by other players) Second frustration: As I play blissfully in my Empire created class in General and then que into SF, there seems to be a severe case of HUA on the Imp side. (For those in Rio Linda (Head up Arse) to be nice . I do not know if it something about play styles, or something on the imp side but getting dominated in SF matches to make the best of players go Oh please merciful GOD why are we not playing better? I mean scores lke 10/50 on Dom matches or Cap and hold map 30/1000 or just two examples. Verses when I do go on the Repub side the chanced to win are a bit more numerous and the beatings not as bad. So what is going on?
  8. I've noticed a trend while playing this star fighter expansion, and it just takes me aback. It is this tactic of hovering and missile boating. If I wanted missile boats in a "dogfight" then we would have a missile carrier, like in the good ole days of Xwing vs Tie Fighter. Yeah I see the need for missiles etc, I see the point of defending a cap point. But to just be lazy and lob missile in a dogfight area. I just say Wow.
