  1. I started playing CoH about 4yrs ago and subbed to it on and off every couple of months to see how the game was evolving. It was the game I played when I took a break from WoW. In it's last year, the game was doing alot better. At least, that's what it seemed like. But, with the lack of enthusiasm from Ncsoft (I do not honestly remember a single commercial for it) and claiming that CoH just wasn't in the program for the direction the company wanted to go, they canned it. They had planned that for a while but was seeing how much money they could make off of it before they did. They kept adding more and more stuff to the Cash Shop in that time. So, what does that have to do with Swtor? Seems now all the new patches are not really patches as in fixes to the game. But, more of addons to the Cartel Market. Seems like the more crap they put into the Cartel Market the more bugs and stability issues arise. I brought up CoH because this is exactly where it looks like the game is headed. But, then again, Star Trek online is still active. So, I guess that there are enough Swtor fans to keep this game alive. (Still reeks of desperation if you ask me) Vista. Remember that Nightmare? Don't care what any of you say, but Win 7 is just a stripped down modified Vista OS. Period. They came out with Win 7 cause they wanted us, the consumer, to pay for their screw up. Remember the first months of Swtor? They had nearly a hundred servers and the servers were almost always full. Now what do they have? A quarter of that if that. So, now we have to sub and pay for new game mechanics that comes standard with most other MMOs? I think, with all the f2p games out there, I'm going to have to call this my last game time sub. Maybe WoW , Eq2, DnD , LOTRO, Rift, may not be Swtor, but at least I don't have to worry about them going anywhere anytime soon or deal wtih the many stability issues and bugs that plagues SWTOR and shows that EA and Bioware are way out of their league. I like SWTOR, I just don't like who's lap it got dumped into and how they are handling the game. Before I leave, I am on The Shadowlands server, I will liquidate all my acquired items and hand out the credits and maybe make a item or two for someone. Good luck to the community that is staying hopeful that the game will get better. But, I doubt that. It is after all EA and it's not in the game. May the force bring you many days of adventure in SWTOR and out.
  2. 1) Credits put back into space missions. (As for gold farmer prevention, lol, there's not enough players to even warrant such a move to the game) 2) Personal homes and guild bases. 3) A committed wardrobe slot. Where you can either put the look you want onto your gear or just switch out the look without having to actually change your gear. WoW has transmorg. EQ has a wardrobe button where the items just go over your gear. 4) Jawa cookies man!!! 5) Guild leveling like WoW's. Where the guild gains xp and unlocks perks. Like increase rewards from fps, warzones, xp, rep, etc. (Yes, kudos on the 5% xp for guilds now) 6) Account ignore feature. If I ignore a person, I want their whole account ignored for any present or future toons they may have. So, that I do not ever get grouped with that person again. 7) Server tiers. Have a dedicated server for just f2p, preferred, sub. Like if your f2p and want to become preferred then you buy the game and are transferred to preferred server. Not for just buying something out of the cartel market. And if you want to be in the sub server you have to have I don't know let's say at least six months subbed to qualify. Then If you go to the sub server and if you stop subbing, then they put you on preferred status (still on the sub server) and limit how many toons you have available. Like you can only use one or two until you sub again. I think this would help limit the amount of frustration when dealing with certain types of people. I believe people who sub are a bit more in the mature and respectful side as opposed the the f2p. (This is just an optimistic opinion ). Now these are just ideas. Of course there is a lot of minor details to be thought about in implementing these suggestions. But, I'm not paid to figure out all that stuff. Beyond my pay grade. Nevertheless, kudos on what you have done thus far Bioware. As always, may the force crush all your enemies in and outside the game.
  3. This is in response to considerations of what I wrote and all the replies, with their suggestions, questions, and etc. After reviewing everyone's comments, I thought about the failings of having a "whine board" as one replier put it to offer people a chance to review a person's conduct in game. As it was just an idea and not a seriously long thought out one, perhaps the solution should be a better ignore feature. Like, instead of just ignoring that toon, the ignore should include the account that that toon is attached to. That way all and any toons created by the person will be blacklisted for as long as they are on ignore and they will not be able to rejoin a guild by another toon. They could even make an achievement for people that earn enough ignores and an option where people could turn on the servers most hated by putting a banner over that person's toon. Like how you can see their name or know that they are flagged for pvp. As always, thank for you time and considerations. May the force crush all your enemies in and out of the game.
  4. I started tanking about a week ago. After I learned how relatively easy it is to tank (Sith Warrior) I became addicted. Not to mention its one hell of a fast way to level as opposed to all the marathons the quests have you run. I'm the type of tank that doesn't get anal about people in group needing on items that they have no business needing on. If it get's on my nerves that bad, well, that's what the ignore button is for and , besides, ques for tanks are pretty fast. So, eventually, I'll get that item. I also understand that sometimes people need an item for their companions. Which, to most people is an unacceptable reason to need an item you can't use. My rule of thumb is, if the healer is the same as my companion and doesn't need on an item, I'll need on it. Or, sometimes, I just read the rolls and need it if no one else needs it. Cause I do understand that dps have to wait forever to get into a que and then to have an item you're looking for get taken from you is disappointing and frustrating. However, the one thing that I absolutely despise is when a person ques as something they are not. I can't tell you how many times I have had a dps que as a healer and not heal. Then they decide that they are a tank as well, aggro the whole room and cause the party to wipe. There are some of you that do not realize that the game auto ques you for everything your class path is capable of doing. So please, before you que make sure that you uncheck or check the boxes of the roles you are willing to play and make sure that you are specced to play that role. Saying all this let me come to the point of this post. Reporting bad players. There should be some type of holonet vendor or whatever on the fleet where people can click on and like coming to the forums and reading posts, read about reported bad players and why the players are put on the blacklist or post or whatever you want to call it. Sort of like an Severe whether alert system. And this is one example of why. Today was my first time healing. I chose an agent because I haven't played an agent class yet and I didn't want to wait in que as a dps. There was a sith assassin tank, and three agents in the group. The first boss dropped a hilt. One of the agents needed on it. The tank asked him why he needed on it and if he could get it. The agent said he didn't know that he couldn't use the hilt (I'm thinking to myself uh huh) and then told the tank to quit crying. Then voted to kick the tank. I didn't want to wait for another tank and tried to cool the situation by pointing out that it's just a hilt and that I know how he feels cause I tank too. The tank leaves. Then the agent (Wurrultun is the name of the players toon) tells the rest of us bye in the middle of a fight and has the nerve to leave the fp but not quit the group. So, we can't even kick him to get another player to help complete the fp. Eventually, somehow the new tank is able to vote to kick the player after about 10mins of wait. This is just one of many unfortunate experiences people have in the game. Yeah, ignore works but only after you have suffered by that player's actions. If that person does something that petty in a group, imagine what that person would or could do in a guild and the guild was unaware of that person's character? Guild cargo hold could get robbed and if the devs add more perks for guilds, other atrocities could or would be committed by such a person. But, with a warning system that everyone could access, that can be avoided and such players (maybe) will leave or even change their attitudes. Because if enough people shun them, their que times and guild potential will be severely limited, frustrated. Thank you for taking the time to read my post and I apologize to all you grammar freaks for my bad spelling and poor punctuations. Enjoy the game and may the force ruin all your enemies day! (In and outside the game)
  5. I would love to find an active group of people that play on a regular and that use vent and are from the east coast.
  6. Well, I think they should lower it for those who like having their own guild. At least for the opening of the first tab. In WoW I had my own guild. It was a bank guild. That I could store what I wanted and have full control on how it was run and didn't have to worry about theft or what not. And, if, they decide to add guild perks, they should keep in mind all the individuals that have their own guilds and make it possible for them to be able to obtain, at least, some of the perks. They can learn alot by looking at what other MMOs have done. Like WoW. I wasn't able to enjoy all the perks that required actually having more than one person in the guild, but i was able to get to level 25 on my own and enjoy those perks. The vast majority of the population is F2p and will probably never sub or sub on and off. So, they need to really think outside of EA's normal thinking and start thinking about the people that keep them employed. This is a great start of an epic game and has great potential to be even greater. But, ........ this is EA and much is not in the game.

  8. Hey, they are allowing us to play the game for free. At least, some parts of the game anyway. I say that if the restrictions are that nerve wracking then sub. I mean, think about all the things we waste money on in a given month and see if that is more or less than a small sum of $15 a month. The Devs need to eat too and without our continued support, we won't have a game to entertain us anymore. At least, not SWTOR. I suggest that if enough of you are so disgruntled with the way EA is running SWTOR, then don't waste time in the forums or crying about it in the game chat channels and ruining the fun for those of us that love the game, rather just play something else, go to school to make your own MMO, play Xbox, ps3, etc. Cause the fact of the matter is that none of the companies care about what we want or say. They will always find enough players to eat out of their hands.
  9. Please be careful when you purchase items from the shop or unlock stuff. Make sure you read the fine, small print and make sure you understand if the item you are looking at is for a certain amount it can be used or account wide. I made the mistake of unlocking Legacy perks for the Mission xp boost and thought it was for all my toons. But it was only for that toon that I unlocked it for. There are unlocks that are account wide. You just have to make sure that's what is in the description. Also, most Legacy perks unlock once you reach a certain Legacy level and have the credits to unlock them or meet other criteria. If you are not an alt-o-holic like some of us, then I see nothing wrong with using Cartel coins to unlock the Legacy xp perks and combining them with the xp boost consumables from the shop. This will help you level up the fastest. Provided you are subbed. If you are a F2p then understand that you are suffering xp reduction past level 10.
