Pay for sub using in-game methods?
Valeriadrina replied to TMcMakeitHappen's topic in General Discussion
In EVE it works like this: You can buy 2 month subscription codes that break down into 1 month sub cards that can then be sold in EVE equivalent of GTN for ingame credits (isk). These can only be created through buying codes with real money from CCP (or sanctioned reseller of said codes). This allows people who want to buy ingame money to do so legally from other players in exchange of funding their subscription. Company gets paid just, people who like grinding money get their subscription and people who have RL cash and no time or inclination to grind or earn money through ingame actions get their isk from grinders. Great system that has been proven to work quite well. -
Executor Krannus = Poor Game Design (Spoilers)
Valeriadrina replied to FatherGrimm's topic in Combat Styles
I was far more disappointed on how the endgame for JK turned out. It had all the incredients for some great action and scenes but... Both SI and SW felt far more solid (SI was downright satisfying even). Thing with Krannus was ok for me. No need to be uber hero in every freaking scene. -
EA still too proud/greedy to put this game on steam
Valeriadrina replied to rdc_thirty's topic in General Discussion
Actually Blacklight: Retribution did not get more permanent players due to poor service. Company was completely overwhelmed by people who wanted to test the game so servers went all kinds of awful and many people thought the game was bad. It`s running very well now (new maps and much more have been added) and is one of my recent favorites. I can only imagine how many people would have stuck with it had servers been up to par when swarms of Steamies rampaged into the scene... -
Personally I like to skip content since running all alts through all the same quests would be very boring. If by midgame you feel like you are getting too much ahead of level curve you can skip whole Quesh (expect your story mission). That sets you down by 1-2 levels alone. Bonus arcs are sometimes badly made so skipping them won`t lose you much and you can always get up to date equipment from galactic market with credits instead of whatever quest rewards you missed. Only problem I`ve had with this is that in Correlia I tend to hit level 50 bit too early. But it won`t spoil the challenge too much in any case.

Dear Bioware a better F2P model will make you money !
Valeriadrina replied to Spooler's topic in General Discussion
As a current, fairly new subber I think BW/EA F2P model is currently somewhat faulty. Too much stick and too little carrot present. I`m pretty sure I will drop my sub as soon as my story related interests are fulfilled (exp bonus as a sub is great when you do 8 characters at same time) as I will not pay montly sub for pvp access (there are many games I can play for that. Even some really nice F2P games like Blacklight Retribution). I actually think PVP restrictions are asinine and foolish as other players are THE content when it comes to PVP. Subbers will be much happier too when they have more opponents available faster. -
"This is a trifling matter, but I will do it" by female SW. Sometimes it`s amusing but it really comes up too often and sometimes comes off wrong for the situation at hand.

I kind of agree. Story part of the game is actually hurt by MMO staples: Shared zones with respawning trash mobs in packs that do no react until agressed by whatever mechanics devs decided to use. Excessive travel times (even fastest speeder is like a sunday driver in a Pinto). Zones that lack meaningful loot (gotta have that huge gear number progression). Some of the zones are extremely cool looking. Alderaan is my favorite. Too bad that actual content part only covers fairly small part of it and many of the quests are just short voiceover and command to go slaughter 15 spacebunnies. Missions that have stronger presentation and variance are vastly more enjoyable. Game lacks secrets, minigames and puzzles. I do like lore items but there needs to be more. Crafting market could by more meaningful as well but with indestructible items it is quite hard to have a good sustainable market (EVE is a great example). Game does remind me of KOTOR very much but along with positives of MMO (fun grouping, PVP and challenging group content) we also get plenty of negatives. I think Bioware ought to add B2P option where you could pay a certain charge and get most of the F2P limitations lifted (preferred customer system is too basic). Then boost subscribers by giving them more monthly cartel coins and other perks. More carrot and less stick.

What happens to current endgame with new expansion?
Valeriadrina replied to Anti_Bodies's topic in General Discussion
Even if they had new operations/flashpoints they still need to scale/add new difficulty for rest of these. Only that makes sense since otherwise you are making huge chunk of repeteable content obsolete. I think that "old" practice is extremely wasteful and expensive.
