I need justification for this. I like to role play my character a bit, and I've played a PT before because he seems like a realistic Jedi killer. Shield generator, beskar iron armor, and a flamethrower. It just screams "I kill Force users". But I want to play a mercenary and I just cant convince myself that hes nearly as effective as a Jedi killer.

I remember reading somewhere a while back that a Cipher agent has about the same pull in the Empire as a Sith apprentice would when it comes to normal people. I thought about that for a while and decided that it made sense. Intelligence is able to act as the secret police, so while they have no power over Sith, they could probably do whatever a Sith apprentice could. But that makes me wonder then; how much power exactly does a Sith Apprentice/ Intelligence agent have? More curious about Imperial Intelligence's power if it's significantly different. Lords and Darths can pretty much do whatever they please as long as it doesn't encroach on someone more powerful. I'd assume Apprentices have a very long leash as well...but how far could an Intelligence operative like Ciphers go?

Why do you think that? Mace proves himself by "beating" sidious, a task that is still hotly debated as he was at best Sidious' equal. The HoT proves himself by beating....well....everyone.

You know, I do believe that when this game is come and gone and they decide to write the canon for it, the Wrath and HoT will end up in the battle of the millenia. Although with Windu I think he gets a little too much credit. He was the best fighter during a time where fighting other force users was nothing more than light practice for the most part. There was no trial by fire, no daily threats of fighting Sith Lords.

I want to see if this stacks up with what the community believes. Having just finished the JK storyline (also have a 50 SW, Inq, and a 38 cons), it is my belief that the HoT IN HIS PRIME is the most dangerous (not most powerful) Jedi to ever live, save Luke himself. This is taking into account Anakin as well who never achieved his prime. It can be pretty much assumed that the HoT is the strongest duelist in the Jedi Order during this period of time, and if that's the case and we pit him against, say Windu, we have to take into account the kind of training and experience each had. While the Hero grew up as a Jedi during the Cold War and ensuing inevitable war afterwards fighting Sith Lords and countless faceless troops, Windu (my poster boy here for other Jedi) never had to deal with the Sith. Having grown up in a time of peace, he may have been an extremely talented warrior but his talents were stunted until the Clone Wars. Even then, he didn't have to face off against Sith Lords like the Hero did. If I have to I can take this apart piece by piece to explain exactly why I feel the Hero is so damn powerful in relation to every other Jedi, but I'm curious about opinions. Also, this is Jedi. Not taking Sith into account.

Honestly I'm not a big fan myself. They were good movies, but not good Star Wars movies. I just think that most people such as the OP hate the movies simply because they've heard they're bad. All his reasons were easily explained away had he given it any thought. Someone else said it perfectly in this thread. Imho, the greatest moment in movie history was the fight between Vader and Luke in ROTJ. You could feel Luke struggling with the dark side, and even Vader struggling with fighting his only son. You were emotionally involved with everything that happened. From Ben's death, to Luke's tortured screams as Vader admits to being his father. When Han comes in and saves the day at the first death star you cheer. When the Rebels lose on Hoth it's traumatizing. Almost all the emotion is gone in the prequels. The only parts I feel did that well is Obi-wans cry when Qui-gon is killed, and Anakin's actual fall. I don't think Hayden is a bad actor, I think he was stunted. His scream of "I HATE YOU" when Obi-wan tells him he loves him is heart wrenching. There are definately great parts that make the prequels good movies. But they aren't Star Wars movies.

I...have trouble admitting that Sidious was the most powerful because of Vader. Don't get me wrong, in no point did Vader ever surpass Sidious, but he could have had he not gotten his limbs hacked to pieces. I understand that Sidious was, but at the same time I feel like that's a disservice to what Vader could have been, if that makes sense.

In Jango's defense, he would have flown away had his jetpack not JUST been broken. Also Mace Windu was one of the most skilled of the Jedi, but I do see your point. I think I worded what I said wrong. Rather than more firepower I meant...more tools in the firepower. Flamethrowers, tracer missiles, grenades. Things that a Jedi can't readily block and defend against without a lot of distracting effort.

Anakin wasn't concieved by the force itself. Plagueis and Sidious' manipulations of force energy sent out ripples that did it. (That's the short answer). I'll give you midi-chlorians. Obi-wan wasn't Qui-gon. Obi-wan believed that the Council was pretty much infalliable, an extension of the Jedi Code. However he worshipped the ground Qui-gon walked on. So to obey the dying wish of his hero isn't exactly "weak" at all. Anakin was too old for training. Period. That's the rules, however They knew Obi-Wan was so desperate to obey his masters last request they couldn't stop him so they grudgingly allowed it rather than kick a powerful jedi knight out of the order. Padme and Anakin knew each other for years. At least a decade. Is it really that hard to assume they fell in love, especially when most of their interactions were off camera? Not really. Mace Windu and the Jedi were hardly stupid. They were fooled by one of the most powerful Sith Lords the galaxy had ever seen. If you want to pick at flaws, at least find flaws. Not just things you don't like or understand.

Hmm...I gotta say I'm actually for it as a straight male, but as a straight male I don't like the idea of having the option for my character if that makes sense, because I don't feel he swings that way. Honestly what I think they should have done is make romances an optional setting. For instance, if you turned off romance of any kind, anytime there was a flirt option it would just be a different standard option instead. But you could do that with either same sex or opposite sex. That way someone playing a straight character wouldn't see that his character potentially wants to hit on those of the same sex, or vice versa even. Or you could leave on both or turn both off. It's too late for that now as it would require new voiceovers for tons of options and the like, but on the implementation of same sex I feel it's something that could be done since it hasn't been implemented yet.

I don't think that quote was meant literally, though I might be wrong. The IA is dangerous, but most of that comes from his ability to infiltrate and hide I'd think. Honestly I prefer the IA, but I feel like the BH just has the firepower to get the job done better.

Not all did. It's stated that maybe half the council (pulling that number from myself) actually believed him. It was only a few that deceided to just go with it.

I doubt many on the dark council have actually spoken to the Voice before. We aren't really sure, as far as I know, how long the Emperor was locked away. Also notice the EXTREME fluctuation of dark council members. In the span of the storyline, there's like 5 or 6 replaced so their tenures don't seem to last very long. If the Voice was locked away for a long time, it's reasonalbe to assume none of the council members had ever spoken to it, and thus have no knowledge of what it would sound like.

A little of both. The council has to "recognize" Baras as the Voice of the Emperor. It's not so much approval as an acknowledgment that he is who he claimed. And actually his plan was very well thought out. He had the support of the council, through intimidation, resignation, or other means. In reality you are the only person in the entire galaxy capable of stopping him. Not sure how far you are through the story so I'm putting this Voss part in spoilers. All in all his only mistake was underestimating the Warrior. Edit: Missed the part where you said you're at Corellia. Spoiler tags still necessary obviously.

Ignoring the trooper and smuggler completely, who in your mind would be the better jedi killer? The bounty hunter with all sorts of heavy armor and varied weapons from missiles to a flamethrower, or the Imperial Agent who understands the nature of force users and has extremely specialized training (as well as either long range sniping and probes or a stealth generator depending on AC)?

I really really like the premise of Saboteur and having tons of explosives and other tools, but I've had a lot of people tell me I can't level up with it nearly as well as I can with sharpshooter and I'll have some trouble. Is there really that big a difference? I tend to play 3 or 4 levels below what I'm supposed to if that matters. Thanks

I know this is old, but just as a thought, why not just throw in a disclaimer? For instance for Quinn, if you click the "kill" option it would be a giant "WARNING! This will PERMANENTLY kill your companion, you will NOT get him back under ANY circumstances, and any tickets or forum posts WILL BE IGNORED." Cuz I wanna choke the hell out of Quinn.

So I have a 37 IA and a 38 SW and I'm trying to decide which to finish first. I've heard that the IA has like 5 or more potential endings, and I was just wondering if the Warrior has multiple possible endings, or if it's the same one no matter what?

WIthout spoiling the ending please, I'm just starting Chapter 3 but I'm wondering: Does Jaesa ever actually get promoted to Sith Lord, or does she just kind of stay your apprentice forever?

I play all my characters 4 levels below. If I fight an elite, I'm ALWAYS 3 or 4 levels below it, and Kaliyo is next to useless compared to the tanks and healers you get on Warriors, BH's, and Inqs. Sure she can sometimes beat a mob 3 levels higher, but can almost never beat one 4 levels higher, and her ability to actually tank is sporadic. On top of that, she always dies leaving you to fend for yourself. So yes she can sometimes be used, but it's a comparitive thing really. She's the least useful tank any character gets.

So I'm at Hoth talking to the big Republic boss guy about how I'm supposed to steal a ship. My character says that he has already hijacked a transport but never a full ship. I'm not sure why, but I don't recall ever hijacking a transport. Can some one fill me in on when this happened? I'm assuming he's not talking about Jadus' ship cuz that was a giant warship.

So as an update for any other operatives that play the way I do, (3 or 4 levels behind everything), this is a good strategy for Chapter 1 at least. I used it to beat all the bosses. I had to use a bit of ingenuity for this char rather than just tank/healing like I could on any other char. So cover tanking = good way to finish Chapter 1 by level 28.
