  1. Right, that's my point. Speaking strictly from a creative standpoint, I find that far more interesting and engaging - playing the side that is barely making it, keeping things together with, as you say, duct tape and a prayer. We're the underdogs.

And apparently, most of humanity agrees with that as well, since that's been the basis of most stories for the last 5000 years or so. It's storytelling 101. The hero or heroes are trying to make it against impossible odds amidst internecine corruption, incredibly fragile support (if you can even call it that) and bickering politicians.

And you also proved my point about the empire. Like I said I'm having fun playing my marauder but all the quests really are kill anyone that defies you. It's not interesting, it's a cartoon. And not even a really good one.

The best portrayal of the Sith, in my opinion, came from KOTOR2. While I don't think the game itself was as good as the first, I gave Obsidian major props for their take on the story. They challenged what it meant to be a Jedi or a Sith and what the Force truly was. And the plot of the game revolved around a former Sith Lord actually trying to destroy it along with BOTH orders.

Compare that to the empire stories we have in SWTOR. It's basically, "BOW DOWN TO ME OR DIE!!! " or some variant of "AND AFTER I GET MY SUPERWEAPON OF AWESOME DESTRUCTION, THE REPUBLIC WILL BE DOOMED! MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!"

And I'm sitting there like, "Really?"

Sort of make you what to scream “COBRAAAA!!!!!”

  2. Also, the understanding from the early story lines on Korriban, Fear is not in itself a lasting power, it is fleeting. Sure, I got accused of being a Jedi-sympathizer, but if I recall, I ended up killing the guy because he felt the ideas couldn't get out. The concepts of knowledge over fear is not a light or dark side issue, it's a power issue. The pursuit of greater power involves dipping on all sides of the Force pool.

And in the end you would become more Dark side then the psycho killers. Will maybe not in SWTOR LS/DS system but in the stories isn’t this how a Jedi falls to the dark side? The idea of “I’ll pursue greater power but it is for a just cause” is how it starts but by justifying your pursuit of greater power is what leads down the dark path. As you power grows it becomes easier to use your power for your on purpose will convincing yourself that it’s “all for the greater good”.

In the star wars moves I can see this as how the Emperor started out and even his attitude up until he dies. “If I use my power to take control of the universe then I can make it a better place for all. Maybe some people will get hurt but it’s all for the greater good”.

So I think your mindset could be played as a dark side Sith regardless of your LS/DS points.

  3. Ok, so I’m where I should be. On top of doing the missions, I though that using the heroic 2 as a tank training ground would be good practice, when to shield, when to heal, that sort of thing and Kera doesn’t yell at me when we wipe. All in all I though it went will but I wanted some feedback to see if I was on track or not. Thank for the feedback and if anyone has any advice I’d love to hear it.
  4. Last week I soloed Knight Fall and Rakghoul Release on my lvl23 defense spec guardian with Kera, I was able to do it but I did die a lot. On one hand they are heroic 2’s but on the other hand I was 4 lvl‘s higher than the quest. So my question is should I have expected to die a lot or should I be looking at make changes to my toon?

  6. I started my BH as a bod 2 but I deleted him and restarted as a bod 3 because to me he was too small to be the tuff looking guy that everyone was saying he was. Even being called “little hunter” lacked the sarcasm it should have had because he was little. Others may disagree but for me the story works better as a bod 3.
