  1. What have you done to cope with the annoyance? I considered subtitles, but it feels like I am in middle school playing pokemon again. I guess the voice acting really makes the game for me.
  2. Embarrassing. Indeed I did mean Gigabyte. The flash drive on my key chain was made by a company called GigaWare... apparently I confused the two. /fail. edit: I did not realize there was a CS forum. Thanks. I found a thread from about a month ago complaining about this issue, on the General Discussion forum, and assumed this would be the correct place to vent my frustration.
  3. A small fortune for me must not be what it is to you. For about $650 I have a PC that can handle everything, except SWTOR apparently. Judging from http://www.swtor.com/support/helpcenter/1947 I would gather that the card is usable by SWTOR and the driver is up to date (06/22/12).
  4. I've considered the soundcard itself being the problem, but I have my doubts. The card is an integrated Realtek HDaudio that is on a Gigabyte motherboard that cost a small fortune. My computer itself is barely a year old. I have tried two different sets of speakers and a set of earbuds to no avail. The main speakers I use work fine for other games/applications and music. AMD Athlon II x4 640 3ghz processor 8gb ram ATI radeon HD 5770 Windows 7 64-bit The only chancy thing about the computer is the sound, and after a quick Google search I can see that others have been complaining about similar problems as recent as 15 days ago. I've also never had this problem before on any game, including just about every game BioWare has put out in the past 10 years. This is really the first game with which i have had a problem that I couldn't fix, or at least understand, so forgive me if I seem overly hostile. If it is the soundcard I am going to have a hard time buying a new one for the sake of one game in any case. edit: ****gigabyte, not gigaware
  5. Hi, I recently bought SWTOR. I experienced this sound "situation" in my free trial, but assumed that I had fixed it after reading the FAQs which state that I should update my DirectX (done it - twice), and my soundcard drivers (done it - three times to be sure I had the right driver). My specific problem is that the audio is constantly dropping in and out, and occasionally becomes incredibly distorted. Once every 5-10 times I restart the game, it will work fine. What sort of business practice is this? A prospective buyer was led to believe that the game would function without such an error. Please do not misunderstand me, I understand that all games have bugs, but most games do not have experience destroying bugs that have apparently been happening for 3+ months without acknowledgement or solution. If a game does, the developers generally warn prospective buyers that their service is undergoing difficulties. If I, a small business employee, led a prospective client to believe that my service was something it was not, I would be fired and my employers may well be taken to court. I paid $75 for a game that does not function as advertised. I know receiving a refund from a company this large is laughable at best, but I would at the very least like to know when this problem will be addressed. I have already made up my mind to no longer subscribe to this game, but I would very much like to enjoy at least a few of the 60 days I paid for. If anyone has any knowledge regarding this particular problem, I would be very appreciative.
