Looks like a good machine. Will look at going to a better laptop, but as it is im still wanting to do a tower build. See a lot of cool cases and whatnot.

I could increase the budget a little, if it meant getting me the right Video card and Processor Combo, could go cheaper in other places if need be. Thanks for the tip and I will look into that.

Most of the companions being gone I'm fine with, even the ones they had come back were logical and made sense. The only ones i'm questioning about not returning are Kira and Jaesa. Kira was the Jedi Knight companion and i'm sure we all remember a part of the class story was the fact that she was a "child of the emperor". Personally, I think that would have made the storyline a bit more interesting. Jaesa on the other hand, had extra special force powers and could see the "true" nature of people and what not. That too could have been an interesting perk to the storyline.

I realize the question has likely been asked and answered many times, but frankly I'm too lazy to look. I currently play on a relatively new laptop, less than a year old. It plays the game fine. All effects turned down and it lags considerably in spots. I decided that with my taxes, I want to build a gaming machine, something that will play the game at full settings, everything on, no lag, very little zoning times. I've seen videos of people playing the game at full settings and i realized that I am missing a lot. I would also like to be able to do OPS and all that stuff, which the lag on the laptop prohibits me from doing. Anyway, I need to build a rig, well actually 2 as my g/f plays too and she wants one as well. I'm looking at about $500-$600 per build, excluding monitors. So does anyone have suggestions/ideas about what would be good for the build. I have built a rig before, but it has been 10+ years since i have, and am not current with whats good these days. So please, any suggestions would be helpful, Thanks in advance.

Update: Did the repair utility. Nothing worked. Deleted SWTOR and reinstalled. It ran. Tried to log in again, same as before. Just idling on Installing. Not making a movement of any kind.

I am unable to launch into game. A few months ago I bough a laptop to play the game on. Plays this game decently. It has windows 10, which also is decent. I am unable to launch into game now/. I played a couple nights ago just fine. Now It wont. I can launch the launcher. It however gets stuck on the initialize part. It wont move beyond initialize. I thought maybe it was my wireless, but when I plug into the modem directly, it wont budge either. Anyone have a solution, or am I destined to reinstall?

So, I looked for a techie forum or the like on here, but either im blind and missed it or there is an apparent lack of one. Either way, I will ask my question (s) here. Hopefully one or more of you geniuses will be able to assist me. The laptop I use to play on is 4 years old, its a hp pavillion g7 series and it plays the game fairly decently. It lags at times, takes forever to travel but like I said..its playable. In fact it's far better than the computer my g/f uses to play on. Anywho, my laptop overheats. It has for awhile. Ive raised it up , so it could get air, added a cheap usb fan blowing on the vents to help with the cooling ( and yes I keep the dust out. Im highly allergic to dust, so my home is as dust-free as it can be. For every other use (i.e posting here in the forums or looking up wookie cookie recipes) it works fine. Just when I play game , after it heats up, it quits. the message on the screen when it restarts says something about it being to hot ( 90D ). Is there anything I can do, to minimize the heat it produces, short of taking it apart. I am debating just going to best-buy or the like and buying something similiar to this one. I can get one for about $250 that should do the job, if everything I read online about it is right. I plan on building a gaming rig down the road, but as for now Im looking for a solution to the issue. I haven't been able to play in a couple days, and its driving me crazy lol. Is there a reason, that every time I log into a char, I have to go into my preferences and choose my setting for nameplates, subtitles,and so on? I have to do it on every character, just about every time I log in. I thought those settings were set and forget.

I was checking the Cartel Bazaar the other day and found alot of things I want, ok, I have decided to have it all. I want all the armor thats attainable ( i.e. unlocks for the cartel market). But, I notice that alot of them you need reputation with vendors, and to get this reputation you need to buy packs from the cartel market: packs that we can no longer get. Some of the gear you can get from the cartel market, but again the packs arent available. The armor, if anyone has it, is insanely priced. 50 mill for a tunic seems insane. 50mill for the whole set maybe, but I cant afford that lol. So I am wondering if there could be a sale on these older packs, or create a vendor with missions to build the reputation. Or perhaps a cartel market item that buys rep with these vendors...or a credit/reputation exchange rate. Something.

im confused and upset. As a subscriber, I cant imagine BW not doing anythihng about this. Other games, that Ive played would have fixed it and/or reset my issue so I could move on. I managed to get the alderaan reser and did all of it, now im stuck there and cannot go on. Ive reset the tattoine quest, and still cant move on. This still sucks so badlly, I almost want to quit playing for good and go to another game.

I am on the the Tattoine part ( formal introductions) and did all of tattoine and it says to use my ship's holoterminal. i try to use the terminal, and the movie doesnt play, well i see watcher 2 but no dialogue and i cannot interract. AFter researching it some, people said the issue arises after going to alderaan first, which i didnt do. but being the tattoine part was bugged, i figured id go to alderaan and continue. i went to alderaan and the cutaway scene started and same result. so both quests say to use my ships holoterminal. ever planet i go to, a cutaway movie starts, but always the same result. i tried to repatch the patcher, as people on the fleet said it could be a corrupt file, but that didnt work. can i remove the quests and reget them, or is there something else i can do?
