  1. Howdy, I'll try not to come across as rude or condescending, however, you need to take into account the role of each class and what their strengths are. A melee character can't do damage until they are up close and "in your face" so to speak. During that time you have the ability to lay down some damage before they reach you. For the Sith Warriors leap, that is their primary gap closer, without it, the class would be horribly gimped since there is no way to get close unless someone else closes the gap for them. Therefore, it is important that they do a lot of damage while they are up close. Keep in mind that other ranged classes can be focusing the warrior down without taking a scratch. They have an AOE slow to keep people close, and the choke is a nice stun to hold a target down to let others wail on (great for huttball). A tank spec'ed Jug will have another stun, but typically that does not occur in the more competitive PvP matches. A suggestion to counter a warrior/guardian would be to pushback once they leap and run perpendicular to the said target (so that you can shoot as well as get a bigger gap) if they are a veng spec to have a shorter leap then use the cryo to get some breathing space. Though the best defense is to just travel with a buddy or fight with a group. There is no reason to solo as a commando, especially one that is a healer (not clear if you are, did see that it was mentioned though). For assassins, they stick in the craw of everyone. Again, they will most likely engage you from behind and the push back is an initial "oh no" button, but they have a sprint ability to re-close the gap. At that point there is only the force pull if the assassin is spec'ed for it. Generally assassins are a pain to get off, but will take less damage than a warrior respectively (of course nothing is for certain with different spec's and gear). A side note, you are only a month into the game, PvP will drastically change when you get into the higher levels. Hope this helps! -Remorce
  2. They didn't increase it, according to the patch notes it was at 30% for all force attacks, they changed it down to 15% but made it applicable to all attacks, not just smash and other force attacks.
  3. When you start fighting with 50's and you run into a pre-made with full elite war hero geared players, might have a change in opinion if you are just pugging it up. As a healer, i watch as peoples health vanishes, and i can see a considerable difference when someone is under/better geared than others.
  4. I don't bother to remember the names of players on the other team as I am often healing, though it is most prevalent when against republic players. Just had a lag free game against imperial players in void star.

It happened in a void star match (the most recent one that made me admittedly frustrated) I was in some combat, but it lingered after combat as well, when the lag spike hit, I was in the re-spawn area and that was pretty much the point when it became unplayable. I have heard of and experienced people spamming ctrl+u+u that can lag everyone, but it seemed to only affect me in this match. I don't have fraps, and to be honest even if I did, there wouldn't be much to record other than a few non moving screenshots.
  6. Lately I've started noticing huge lag spikes while playing my level 50 sorcerer (heal spec). Not uncommon across my toons, but lately, I've been getting spikes that make it unplayable for pretty much the entire game. The kicker, is that it only happens on my sorcerer, I've played WZ's on my 50 jug, no problem, 18 PT, no problem, assassin, no problem. What I'm getting curious of, is if people can lag spike a specific player IE a healer like myself, so that they become useless in a game. Last game i played it was doable initially, but as the game progressed and people found out I was a healer and focusing me (as they logically should) I received lag spikes that made me absolutely useless (granted we were up against a complete premade with full elite war hero, so we had no chance to win anyways, but that's for another thread rant). No one else in the game seemed to experience the amount of lag I experienced. My question, is does anyone else have this issue? (please, before you say connection, it works fine, and calling me a "bad" doesn't really solve any problem with my game-play-ability as to my understanding I am well liked after each match when I can do my job)
  7. Well, the main reason I care, is because of the image. Yeah, there are idiots out there, yeah they make stupid arguments, but just the same, I don't want to be labeled with them and overlooked when in PvP. I will try to keep this class respectable, but it is damn well near impossible with all the idiot forum spammers out there. As a jug, I prefer to go tank spec and make it impossible for anyone to take down a healer, I'm usually a healers best friend on my jug. I have no clue why they put bubble stun and overlooked other things that they nerfed. Frankly I don't want to know why they put that stupid mechanic in (another reason to hate sorc?). I liked the DPS output prior to 1.2 of sorc. Was it spectacular? No, but it would get the job done, which was much better said than for Op/Scoundrel at the time. Many of the cries for nerfs pre 1.2 was because of idiots who didn't understand the mechanics of the game. The whole "tracer spam" could easily be shut down. Did it do damage? Hell yeah but it was tolerable, people QQed for nerfs tho. Snipers were in need of some love and they got a decent amount, could still use a little more though. Commando's were a ***** for me to take down as a sorc if they were heal spec, but it was doable. Too many people QQed about that, got a nerf. The only class that got a lil too much love would be the jug/guard and for a while the mara/sent. The mara and sent were still workable for me as a sorc though, me and a guildie would practice together working on cycles I would need to run to keep them off me and burn them down. A pain, but was doable. The problem we face is that BW has no actual way to take in all the complaints and discriminate them from the QQ's of the forums. That is why we have the nerfs we have now. Launch had classes that (in my opinion) were pretty well off. Op/Sound could actually burst to bring someone down coming out of stealth. I wish BW had only polished the classes they had initially launched, rather than spiraling them to where they are today. Do I still have faith in BW? Well, I'm still here and have been since 2009.
  8. Already made a shadow and I know there are plenty of idiots out there, I wished they would shut up, and I tried to get them to. One voice in a sea of them doesn't get heard though. I just don't like being lobbed with "them" because I like a certain class. If we could go back to launch, pre stun bubble, and pre nerfed healing, I would be extraordinarily happy. We were balanced then, and right now we are of the most balanced. Are we perfect? No, but we don't need to be fixed as bad as others. I think you and I can find common ground there.
  9. You win, your generalizations are absolutely right, i concede, you have victory almighty. I am allays QQing and such. I am wrong, because I like a class and was caught trying to defend it. Fine. I totally QQed about other classes. As a matter of fact, I know you can pull up every post I have ever had, you will not find one asking for someone else to be nerfed. Only that we remain untouched. Read all my posts, I dare you.

  11. I'll grant one last reply, you post about posters QQing about their class, claiming it to be sucking, when others are worse off. Yes, true, factual, and so on. Let it die, you refuse to let it. A troll is someone who persists in an argument, not caring where the argument ends at, as long as you are the last man standing. To an extent we both are. Clearly sorcs have been QQing for almost a full year now and BW hasn't done a thing, clearly they could have but didn't, what makes you think they will by now? They are going to get to fixing the other classes first anyways, the mer/comando is the poster boy of broken class. It is clearly needed over the sorc. You win in that respect. So instead of deconstructing the criticism given by the whining QQers; perhaps giving BW something to work on for your class would be more productive. People who post in these threads are only reminding BW what needs to be fixed. If posting thousands of threads would have fixed the OP/Scoundrel after they were nerfed, they would have damn well near have been as well off as when they launched. So trying to decry the QQers for sorcs hundreds of threads doesn't do anything. Telling them to re-roll and try another class can really only be an advice. "Take a walk in my shoes", is all you are really asking. Frankly though, lets be honest, if you play as a jug in pvp and then go to sorc, you clearly see a different pattern in how people target you. Same for Commando to Sorcerer, it's just a different reception. That is my only "rage" towards this thread. Let QQers threaten to quit, continue to cry etc. why don't you go build up the need for your class instead of deconstructing the base of others? Let me take care of me and you take care of you.

  13. Also note, Trooper/BH are both getting a snare ability that damages, slow movement, and prevents speed, vanish and other escape tools, IDK if it is breakable with CC breaker though.
  14. I don't really see that as being a problem, it would definitely give them the advantage of mobility, though I am sure there is more that could be done to fix this class. It would be interesting to see if since BW is taking out the charge that the PT/Van has and instead use it as a disengage tool for merc/commandos. (I am expecting Biowareftw to show up any second...)
  15. You really do just hate sorcs/sages. Read some of your earlier threads, you just have an agenda against sorc/sage. I sense a strong senator Feinstein in you young one. Frankly I think I'm becoming the troll since I'm laughing at how worked up you get over complaints that aren't congruent with your own. You really are oblivious to the world around you, and only see what you want to see. Anything else is incompatible with your plans and must be by default, wrong. By the way, your "schooling" does you no favor as it only shows your pompous arrogance. But, a congrats are in order, you sir are a professional troll. As a side note, what difference does respeccing make? Next to nothing unless you have the gear to attribute to your new spec. So it would cost quite a few coms to save up for two sets of gear and to augment it all over again. There's your answer linguistics major.

It isn't viable to have any spec as a sorc that isn't hybrid, so your idea that we have three is completely wrong, madness has no force pool, lightning has no damage impact. Also, do you ever see a DPS sorc invited along for rated? "Merc/commando? Not invited in any spec" Then what do you propose? You have QQ'ed plenty about it being unfair for all other classes that your's is the adopted child. Start a thread that offers suggestions. You are right in the respect that all classes are restricted to specific skill trees and that Jug/Guard are the only ones who have some lee way. But to QQ that someone still has it better is a missed perception on your part. You are too staunchly with the idea that only merc/mando has it rough along with a few other specs, and that sorc/sage has it better. The grass is always greener on the other side (take your own advice and reroll). Sorc is still the best choice for doing EVERYTHING well." Everything? Last I checked I couldn't bring down another player on my own. I can't aid in objective games unless I move with a group. There is no way in hell I can aid my team unless the opposing team largely ignores me. So in my opinion? Grow up, life isn't fair, QQing about it raises the problem, but it is entirely on you to suggest what to do (I suggest QQing about other classes... oh wait...) Make your own thread suggesting what to do, don't suggest what everyone around you should do to fix your problems.
  17. So many things that I see wrong with this. 1. I don't want to roll classes, I would like to play as the force master class that it is and be able to pew pew with lightning, not a blaster. Will you look at that with disdain? Most likely, since you only care about stats and results, not about any means. 2. Why offer DPS specializations if there is no intention of them ever being viable? They are not viable as a DPS specialization for sorcs. That is the main complaint that sorcs have with their class. 3. Because I am a Sorc, I am automatically a healer? So Jugs should only be tank spec since that is in their specialty and they can throw taunts? Same for assassins? PT's? Again, they offer trees so that you can play how you want, that's the point of a game right? 4. Even if I am a WoW clone of SP, I am still a useless slot filler. My DOT's tickle at best. I played a game (no video as I am too lazy to download the software, and don't care enough to record game by game cases to spout idiosyncratic **** on the internet, there is plenty of that to go around) in which a shadow repeatedly murdered me, we were playing on novare coast and wait for me to kite and support my team. All he would have to do is stun, and lay on the dps, and it was rinse and repeat. After the third time I started hunting for him by casting force storm with myself at the center, I would catch him, attempt to kite him, throw DOTs and use my usual rotation. His very words were "Your DOTs tickle", verifying that sorcs are not the only ones that recognize that we have a reason to throw our pity parties. Also a side note, I do wish we could go back to pre 1.2, in no sense of the word were we overpowered, we were just the most balanced at the time. You complain that Sorcs are better at being hybrid? Why are we forced to play as heals? Because the community said so, because you said so? Hybrid DPS is our ONLY viability at playing in PvP. In PvE we still don't match other players, we can be content pew pewing over in the corner, but that is the extent of our DPS capability. When healing, yea, we can put some out, but to offset that, we are incredibly weak, a limp noodle can slap us and we have to back peddle in our healing cycles. That is what offsets our heals since you as a commando don't have to worry as much about a wet noodle, you are more capable to heal and take a hit. 6. Again, you are being a very good selective reader, while I did say that we can make the score board look pretty, we do not give our own team an advantage. Allow me to put this in a real world analogy: If you were trying to earn a lot of money, how would you go about it? Most likely you are going to work for wages, this is a fast and reliable way to earn money. This is how most classes in this game do DPS. You can get a stack of money and actually do something with it, ie. you can actually kill players in a reasonable amount of time. However, what if you can't work, but you have some money, you can buy bonds and earn interest in them. Slowly over time you will accumulate wealth, and in the end when you sell your bonds back you get your pretty stack of money. That is the way that sorcs work and how their DPS looks pretty. We don't get to play around any, we only get things in the end if we did good, our work does not offset the fate of that War-Zone. Do commandos need some love? Yes, I do believe so, but to discredit other classes because of your overwhelming certainty that you are the only one with an incredible burden and posting in the forums QQing about other classes QQing is rather childish. Work to your own ends on your class and I will continue to try giving mine some love.
  18. Still can't tell if trolling or serious, but i live to entertain. Yes the end of game damage scores look pretty and so does healing; but if you actually look at the fights (which i will give you the benefit of the doubt you do) you are kiting and MUST remain mobile to survive. Throwing DOT's and running away is viable, but you will never aid your team significantly. If a sorc sees a node that has one defender, there is hardly a chance in hell they could kill them before help arrives to bat them down (assuming the sorc actually survives long enough to kill the other player). I'm sure you will also note, that you are shut down easily. It is only ideal to be in large team engagements if the enemy largely ignores you and focuses on the objectives. Thats where sorcs get their pretty DPS patterns. As far as armor, hell yes i would take anything better than rags. Considering I can move out of the LOS of BH and other ranged players, i cannot move out of the mele players range as easily. Since they do not always ignore armor (they can significantly reduce it) it could possibly mean 3 more seconds of survival. What most sorcs qq about is the fact that abilities are immobile and require time, it also requires movement to survive. Limited burst ability despite standing there channeling for 3 seconds. Considering smash and other abilities, we are next to nothing on the table. Again, end of game scores look pretty, but that doesn't accurately paint the picture. No player fears a sorc on the field, healers are primaries to most players looking for a kill to take an enemy off the battlefield and easily burned down. That is why we have utilities, it's so we can stay mobile. I'm sure you know what happens when you stand still.
  19. Lol, have you played a sorc? Squishy as hell. What's that? They can heal for 2.3k instantly? I can't hear you over your 6k lol-smash/railgun. Other than that, almost everything can be interrupted. What's that a bubble? AND a stun? Sorry, can't do anything while being focused by others. Hm? I'm sprinting? Sorry, no armour or any other feasable defense. What? I can pull allies? QQ more about your leap to allies and enemies. Seriously, sorcs are just different from the rest, they are hardly better, let alone OP. Utility, yeah, some. Ranged stun? Goes the same distance as BH shock dart. DPS sorc? Only viable when no one touches them, they are more like paper cannons when touched. "Cannon" is also used loosely as they can't crit beyond 3k, at least the other classes can 1. Disengage if losing 2. Have armour to survive longer, despite your "gimped" healing. If serious poster, you are sorely mistaken, if trolling, well done.
  20. It pains me to constantly see these posts for 6 months as someone has already mentioned. Pre 1.2 i was worried that sorcs would become like that of opreratives as far as nerfs. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=356256 I took a break over the summer and come back and have been playing for 3 weeks now (I still have my champ gear and have been working on BM) and without a doubt i am getting facerolled by every class i come in contact with. There is no way i can stand a chance against WH's who can hit me for 5k and 8k crits. I'm a mobile free target for all in my cross server.
  21. 1)How do other classes see you? We are the most sought after class in the entire game. Why? Because we help the other team get more kills and have a higher DPS marker. Pub 1: "Hey guys i see a sorcerer! Wanna count how long it takes me do down him?" Pub 2: "Sure, I'll start counting..." Pub 1: "Too late, he's dead." Pub 2: "Dang it, you never let me start counting. At least you got a free kill. Did he even damage you?" Pub 1: "I think he threw a DoT on me, maybe it did some damage." Pub 2: "Lol, sorcs don't do damage." *edit, this is every game I play. 2)How do you view your own class? Laughable in all respects when it comes to PvP, no survivability. "But you have a bubble right?" Lets see how long my lil 3k buffer bubble lasts against a jug or shadow that hits 5k. (8k crits) Healers are targeted first (and rightfully so) and cannot out heal virtually any dps when it is directed towards the healer. "But you have so many heals and they do so much right?" Granted only 2 heals can be cast while moving (3 if you count cleanse) and their CD's will be over by the time you run back to the battlefield after you have been killed. Most healing abilities must be cast while stationary, and a sitting duck. "But you have force sprint." YAY! A SPRINT FOR 2.5 SECONDS! Against a shadow or an assassin that may give you a reprieve, but against anything else, they will leap to you or just continue shooting. "But what about your dps? I always see pretty scores for sorcs on the score board." Yeah, that was before 1.2, and even then we still couldn't out DPS any other class 1v1, all we could do was kite and hope our team mates are a better distraction than you are. "They are still pretty feared in War zones today right?" The only thing that others fear about Sorcs is that if you are beaten by one, you will have to have been not paying attention to the game, been drunk, or been a terrible player. If any of those things result in your death by a sorc you will be forced to wear a sign of shame that you were beaten by the worst class. Beyond that, sorcs are sought out as free targets. Overall this will probably be seen as a QQ post, and I don't care, i tried posting early on about the threat of the Sorc being nerfed like the Operative http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=356256 I tried, evidently i was ignored, now we deal with this current situation. I don't want to quit this game, i especially dont want to quit my sorc because of other QQ'ers wanting nerfs for my class. I will just try to hit up the forums as much as i can again to see to it that there be change. Please note that I am not asking to nerf other classes (though some of them could use it) I am only asking that the Sorc be a viable and useful class in PvP not the laughable thing it is now.
  22. lol if i ever saw a made up piece of crap this would be it, if you ever see a sorc/sage hit higher than 5k (let alone 2-3k when theres a blue moon and the planets are aligned) you pulled is straight out of your a**, channeled or not there is no burst dps for a sorc/sage. a smuggler/agent backstab barly ever does 4k let alone 6k. get your numbers straight and get off whatever the hell you're smoking.
  23. This is what all players should recognize, most importantly, its a game. If people want better gear they gotta work for it, if you want to win you gotta work hard to beat those geared people. For those people who complain that having a gear system is bad, and that having to work for gear when you have little time to play is unfair, go play Halo, you can play a game a day and be equal or better than all. In a MMORPG people want to be recognized for their work by having better gear so that they can have an easier time since they put in the time and effort to get there. Sorry i got side tracked, good post though.
