So I have been playing the game for a little while, but still would consider myself a newbie. Recently started playing Imp side(level 68 Lethal Operative). Looking for a guild. Would like to raid eventually. Any guilds recruiting?

What do you consider basic gear? I have mostly 220 gear from doing the KotFE story line. And bought 234 parts for my weapon. As far as CMC goes, I'm okay with using my coins to make credits. Most of the account unlocks(at least the ones I want) I already have, so not much I need toe CMCs for. So are Armormech and Synthweaving good ways to make credits or is there a more profitable crew skill I should level?

So just returned to the game and it seems GTN prices have gone up since I last played. I am noticing that max level mods for gear are going for a whooping 50mil per. Needless to say, I don't have that kind of scratch. What is the method du jour for making alot of credits fast these days? Failing that, is there a different way to get the mods? My toon is a biochem, so crafting them myself not really an option.

Short answer, yes. You will typically find two types of gear. 1. Gear that has set stats(take it for what is is) 2. Mod-able gear. The modable gear will someones have base stats(such as that +60 Force power) but are for the most part powered up and customized to your needs based on the mods. The higher your level, the more powerful mods will be usable. It's kinda a cool system. Coming from WoW way back before transmog, it always sucked finding really cool looking gear but it's stats sucked. With this, you can pretty much use whatever looking gear you want and just swap out the guts(mods)

So as the title says. I am a returning player but for all intents and purposes I will consider myself 'new' I last played at the tail end of the shadows of Revan xpac. So I am coming back. My two characters that I play are a Commando(gunnery spec) and a Consular(tele spec) and I am having a hell of a time finding info anywhere on builds(what utils to pick), rotation, stat priority, ect. Can anyone recommend a good resource? I have searched google and can't seem to find anything for 5.0. I have tried Dulfy, but no luck there. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated. Not sure if anyone else is having this problem or if there are other posts about it(I've looked and haven't found any) But is the "Interactions" window for your companions and contracts messed up? For 2V-R8 it says on Odessen I crushed his dreams for a better future under a kind master, even though in the dialog I selected the answer that he liked(and awarded a ton of influence) I am romancing Lana and her interactions window doesn't say anything at all. Many of my other companions' interaction windows are blank as well. Anyone else notice this or having this issue? Is it normal?

So I just returned to the game...and wow alot has changed. I was hoping someone could direct me to a good place for builds/gearing/rotation that sort of thing. All the sites I use to go to before(Torhead, Noxxic) don't seem to be around or doing TOR any more. I play a commando, currently gunnery spec but not opposed to assault spec. Currently level 54. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Seems to be a popular thread topic but here it goes. I played during the original game, up through shortly after the release of Hutt Cartel and am now returning. My main(and really only toon I play at the moment, though am looking at rolling a Jedi) is a 54 Trooper. Looking for a PvE guild to join. Looking for Flashpoints and Eventually Operations.

Thank you everyone for your answers and advice, it is much appreciated. Like alot of people(I'm assuming) I transitioned to ToR from WoW and though there are some similarities it is pretty different so it is kinda crazy adjusting.

Okay so I just started playing ToR yesterday and am trying to get a feel for the game. I am currently level 16 and trying to figure out builds. What is a good build for leveling a Shadow? As far as play style I would prefer to avoid a play style where you have to stealth all the time but if that isn't possible with the class that is alright. Is there a good balance build? Also what sort of rotation should a Shadow be using? Right now I mostly just use double strike, project and force stun. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also probably a silly question but trying to figure out how to change the color or my lightsaber and I have sent my companion to missions to find color crystals but they don't go in the crystal slot on the lightsabers.
