I’m happy for you, you’ll have fun with the class stories (and seeing their different outcomes and options on replays) and likely the previous (real) expansions for years to come. I know I did. I just wish BioWare still cared about this game.

You’re right in the assessment that Lana gets all the screen time. If you want a love interest that actually has romance scenes/dialogue and that you don’t have to wait real world years to interact with (if ever) then Lana is your only choice.

I honestly believe Bioware is just purposely trrolling us straight gals or gay guys at this point. I just want to wake up to my guys face just once and see him smile with relief that I am okay. Why is this too much too ask?
Don't get me wrong. I like Lana as a character, but the push has just gone on long enough. What would people say if all they saw was Theron in every shot shutting Lana down by butting in all the time?
I seriously question the writing and development in this game anymore. The lack of tying up loose ends in stories or developing plots further that have so much potential, they just get dumped in the trash. So many conversations that go left unsaid with certain characters makes no sense. I mean I end up romancing thie ex emperor and after all we been through nobody has anything to say. Especially my ex Theron or even Senya his mom.. I figured Senya would be all over that jumping up and down joyously knowing her son finally found what he has been searching for his whole life after so much abuse, deceit, grief and heartache. Someone who truly loves him and is now able to give that love in return.. He is finally home.
I completely agree and I don't understand why. It's like they think it's funny that we're upset and think that we'll just continue to pay for an experience that is clearly resentful of us. I've been playing this game for 10 years and subscribed for most of it but I just unsubbed. I'm never again going to just blindly resub in anticipation of an expansion coming out months down the road. They have to earn my money from now on and I really doubt they will.

Omg right? I just came back recently and am finally to Legacy of the Sith on my first character. I also ran through Echos of Oblivion for the first time yesterday. Really enjoyed it, but felt there could have been a little more interaction with certain characters. Darth Marr, Thexan and Arcann, The Exile etc. I also had not killed off either Theron or Arcann at this point and was in romance with Arcann with this character.
Finally get to the end, everyone just disappears and wake up to Lana staring me in the face. I mean seriously? For gosh sakes! Where the heck is my LI after all this and considering who we were fighting, it just made sense for Arcann to be at my side when I wake up. Nope they just take off like you don't even exist because they have more important things to do or because *Bioware Reasons*
I almost fell off my chair when I saw *HER* staring at me in the face. She didn't even come for the fight. Why is she here? So Infuriating. Guess I'll go back and wait for a mail from my LI to finally show up if one ever does. Sheesh
The writers must be made of elastic with that MONUMENTAL stretch! You go to that ship with a bunch of other characters and every single one of them just sees you passed out on the floor and LEAVES you there. They don't know if you're injured or dying, one of them might be your character's love interest or even spouse and yet they just leave you there and Lana who didn't even come just teleports there and gets you. Like ***? My consular was romancing Arcann. Arcann, Senya, and the PC ALL needed to go back to Odessen but instead of taking the PC with them, they leave him unconscious in an unsafe and isolated abandoned ship that had gone missing previously and taken months to find and go back to Odessen WITHOUT him! ***?! They want Lana in your face so much that they abandon every scrap of logic.

I realize the Star Wars Story Group are finicky buggers who are really picky about the details of who can be what and where and with whom, and having such strict guidelines, I can understand, it would be a hamper on creativity, but the class stories were amazing, focussed on our amazing characters foremost...and leaving a bit of what our nemesis is up to, to mystery...like you never saw or rarely saw Baras plotting against us in a cut scene. His actions against were made to be felt on our end of the story, as an example.
I would've thought that being as it's the old republic, that there would be a lot of leeway about characters and adventures, seeing as its so far removed from the movies and tv shows and some books.
TBH I don't think the story group or Lucasfilm as a whole cares about this game or pays attention to what happens in it. I think the culprit here is EA or BioWare higher-ups not wanting to put in the time and resources this game so badly needs. Bean counters making decisions instead of creatives.

They gave Theron, Arcann, Koth, Quinn, Torian, and Jorgan a kill option and brought the rest of the previous male love interests back through class specific alliance alert type quests ensuring none of them would be part of the story going forward (I think the exception is Doc though even if so he’s republic only). Even Scourge who is a companion for everyone and can’t die is only a romance option for Jedi Knights and was only given one and a half romance scenes (the first where you initiate the romance and the second when he’s freaking out over the missing ship and the romanced JK has a special option to ask him if he wants to go for a walk and they just leave). Meanwhile they shove Lana in our faces at every turn and since the precious dudebros asked for it they’re prepping Vaylin for a return despite her being dead.
I’m beyond frustrated and feel actively trolled and looked down on by the devs.

gotta say that it brightens my mood to see this thread regularly pop back up amid all the complaints about bugs and terribly implemented changes.
they added something that can be so easily ignored, but people gotta fuss over it.
The day I stop fussing over the lack of Twi’lek and Zabrak customizations is the day I stop caring about this game and by then it’ll be too late.

No amount of money from subs is going to change their minimalistic efforts. They've been milking for years, nothing will change that.As much as I agree with OP, sadly this is what I believe as well. EA would be perfectly happy to siphon off all the profits made by this game and invest them into some crappy new shooter than invest in SWtOR itself.

I still love the vanilla class stories, KotET and every story expansion that came before it but each year the new story segments coming out get shorter and less satisfying. Nothing else being edited or added to the game is of any value to me so I pay 3x the cost of a brand new, full single player story game and receive 1/20th of a new game per year in new story updates and it’s getting harder and harder to justify doing so.

Just going to point out the elephant in the room here. You literally pay 15$ and not even that pays for 7.0 thats technically 15$ for 1mo of premium game features which helps pay for game maintenance and does nothing for funding for expansion development. So how big do you think their budget is on that? Are you really expecting Baked Alaska for the price of a McDonalds Ice cream cone?
Now if they charged lets say $29.99 for the expansion on top of a sub fee? I would completely agree with all your points. But come on man. Be realistic here
I’ve spent close to $4000 since launch on what amounts to a single player game and story DLCs (which would cost $10-$20 each in said equivalent single player game and $60 for KotFE+KotET as a short full game sequel, SoR I DID pay $20 for in addition to my monthly sub when it came out). Long story short they know exactly what they’re doing. If they thought they could make more money by charging $30 for each complete expansion(which I for one would love), they would but by drip feeding a tiny amount of content across the span of a year to keep players strung along hoping for more, they make $180 in subscription fees plus whatever extra the player spends on cartel coins. $180+ is more than $30 and stringing people along with a minuscule amount of content is easier.

I happen to be 64 and female, and I agree with this. It is fantasy, so what's the problem? I even have Sith and Jedi characters (both female) dressed in the dancers outfits because I think they're sexy. Does that make me sexist? I don't think so. I just like a really pretty eye catching outfit!
Just for the record, I also have a bare chested male Cathar that shows off his gorgeous black fur!
I’m a 37 year old woman and I agree with this. I’m going to dress both my male and female characters however I like and whichever way suits their personality-some in full armor and some in skimpy outfits. Someone else can dress theirs however they want, I don’t care.

Unfortunately, he's one of the few companions you can't kill. He does disappear from the story after lv 50 like the rest of them and then appear briefly during Jedi Under Siege after which he disappears again. If nothing else you can always overwrite his fake "romance" by "cheating" on him with a later companion in the expansions.

I'm glad you're finally admitting you're saying the opposite of what's true. A color or existing hairstyle is in fact easier to implement than a new set of textures mapped onto dozens of faces, I'm glad you see that now.

One thing I've always wondered (since I never actively took the option - a couple of DS characters skipped and it defaulted) is
did Theron actually die when left behind after killing Zildrog? I know you get the option to leave him to die, but is it confirmed that he actually DID die?
If it's just inferred and not actually definite (like with Vette/Torian), that could be a way back for him....
Bringing him back/making him alive would anger the precious murder hobo dudebros aka the most precious customers that must always be coddled and we can’t have that can we?

They probably went with the easiest and fastest to implement with the least amount of technical difficulty or effort required. It may have even started out as a bug and they decided to make it a feature. Regardless, just move on. It’s in the game now. It’s not hurting anyone and is actually helping some people. They aren’t going to remove it cause that would take it away from some players and take away resources to fix real problems in the game.
I’m not asking them to remove it, I don’t care about it. I’m asking for options we actually want to be implemented. If you don’t like my opinion, just “move on” and don’t reply.

This is simply not how game development works. Making new customization features is exponentially more time intensive than the coding required to make an already available texture available for a different gender. As there have mentioned, it could even be unintentional. Either way, it’s not something you got “instead of” other features.
Great! So giving players alternate color options for Twi’leks, giving existing NPC hairstyles to players, etc...would have been much easier and less time intensive than adapting a beard texture to all the female faces. Too bad they didn’t do that INSTEAD of joke beards.

This is argument, which I have seen numerous times on this thread, is a classic logical fallacy called a false dilemma. This is not an either/or situation. It’s not like they evaluated all the customization options and decided to pick this one over all others. The only reason people are bringing this up and making a stink over it is their insecurities surrounding gender norms. There are scores of other meaningless customization options that no one cares to complain about or pretend are somehow preventing other customization options from being included in the game.
When it's a matter of limited time and resources then yes it's a matter of either/or. Did they make both the things people were actually asking for AND random lady-beards? No. They made one and not the other. Did they let us know that this is just the first of many customizations and that the things people actually want will be added as time goes by? No. Enjoy your beards, I don't care if you like them or not but you'll be one of the only ones using them meanwhile the customization aspects that have been lacking for 10 years will continue to fall by the wayside.

And CB confirmed somewhere in this very thread that Theron would still appear in future story though the focus would be less on both Theron and Lana. Guess they forgot to focus less on Lana.
Honestly, yes I think they legitimately are trolling us. They know how straight female and gay male players feel and they don't care. They know we hate waking up to Lana looming over our sleeping faces but they keep shoehorning that creepy and weird scenario in wherever they can even if it makes zero sense (Echoes of Oblivion), they've known for years that people want content with the original companions and KotFE/KotET companions (and some of them the devs even forgot to kill off so they could appear for everyone) but they don't care, they know we're sick of Lana being shoved up our butts at every turn but they don't care.

I agree with those who've said that additional customizations for various races (more hairstyles for Zabrak, more faces and colors for Twi'leks, the addition of complexion slider for Togruta, etc...) would be far more wanted and used than adding beards to female characters. Almost nobody will use this option and most of those who do will be joke characters, meanwhile the other customizations mentioned would be practical and sought after.

This is a depressingly small and anticlimactic "expansion" for a 10 year anniversary, especially for those of us who have been playing this game for that long
Also please please please never have characters who didn't romance Lana wake up to her looming over our sleeping/unconscious face again. This has happened like 3-4 times now and it's creepy and unwanted. I feel like I'm being actively trolled at this point.

I saw him. I think they did something similar in the last update too for Republic characters. I still don't think we will hear him speak or actively take part again, not even if he's romanced which is really annoying.
I wonder if they think that if they show him silently in the background that we'll just forget about him or consider ourselves "lucky" that we see him at all unlike all the previous companions and love interests. Cant wait to wake up to Lana looming over my sleeping face again though
