  1. Truth be told I don't think the game is at the stage of normal players looking for groups yet. So much of the playerbase at the moment is all about 'I've got a 50 and several alts almost there'. I joined a guild on my second day playing and within a couple of days they were in their 30s whereas I was happily trundling along with a few alts and hadn't passed 16 on any of them. Many people get really shirty about the options picked during conversations, and I've even had a few people rage-quit over their choice not being chosen - despite the fact it doesn't matter - your choice reflects on your character. Having said that, grouping is not particularly encouraged in the game. No-one (with any sense) wants missions that can't be completed when solo, but at the same time the game concentrates so much on making YOU the epic-hero of your OWN story that it forgets to give any real reason to bother.
  2. Sorry, Scheffer, but ArtMonster seems to have it right. On top of that, if you're truly happy with playing the game, why does it matter that you tell everyone? Moreover, if how people reply, view your posts or you know how people will react why even bother? The opinions of a bunch of forum-dwellers really shouldn't matter to you so much. Despite what many of them will have you believe, most people who play a game don't ever bother with the forums unless there is a fault that needs fixing. As a polite suggestion - Just go enjoy the game and stop worrying what forumites think - there's no such thing as a humble opinion, and you seem to be caring wayyyy too much about other peoples'.
  3. It's very simple... People who want to b*tch and whine go to forums to b*tch and whine, and to tell everyone how 'they could do it better'. People who want to enjoy a game (and not play it like an MMO robot) are busy playing the game. So far the only thing that could drive me away from this game is the ******** attitude of so many PvP'ers. This is the second MMO where I've actually had any interest in PvP'ing and so far the abuse and lack of support/friendliness has really put me off... ...and yes, I only came here to moan - otherwise I'm enjoying the game.
  4. I've had a couple of odd FPS issues, but then I discovered that my nVidia GTX580 was vastly overheating whilst playing the game. I didn't have any problems until the latest drivers came out, so I'm assuming that there's something squiffy going on with them. I just upped the cooling fan power on the side of my case and it's all been fine since.
  5. Cliches? Oh, the whole having-human-contact thing...it's a shame people regurgitate defensiveness by assuming the same old cliche response is what's being talked-about. Some of us grew past THOSE points years ago. But practically, physically, emotionally and temporally, since the size of the game is as such that if you've spent any decent amount of time with your family (ie without a computer turned on) and friends (out and about - not near anyone's home unless it's a social-interaction party) then how you've managed to get level 50 of every class, gathered all extras, finished every type of crafting and pushed through all of the content for 8 characters in 12/13 days is completely beyond me.
  6. I just think there should've been a 'Rushers' server where all those who screamed their way through to 50 without doing a balanced set of all tasks pretty much get what they deserve. Whatever illusions many people may be under, the reality is that many of us have 6+ alts and are steadily building them up depending on what they are, who is available to play with (since most of the time PuGing is a PITA). We're enjoying every classes' stories, exploring every area of the map, doing every sidequest, sending out missioning, doing all the space combat missions, practicising new ideal-techniques for combat, and even getting into PvP a bit (which isn't really all that much fun anymore now we've realised there's no level bracketing so too many people have too many powers and just turkey-shoot the lower levels over and over. So in the meantime, y'all sit around a couple of weeks after launch and be EVER so proud of yourselves for slamming through a game that was intended for you to take months to get through the content (without skipping dialogue) with all the different classes and extras....and you can wait for normal folks who had work, fiancees, family, friends, parties and real physical interaction between human beings to deal with over the holidays (and the build-up to them). We're on our way - but no matter how much you want it - we aren't going to rush our way through when we want to savour every little morsel this game has to offer.
  7. NOT this. It does not balance well - at all. The balancing system is utterly *****. There either needs to be better level filtering or power-disabling for the higher ones.
  8. Damn - here I thought it was someone complaining about the stupid level differences in warzones. I'm on the verge of ditching the whole bloody lot of them until I reach top level. At least then my level 14 characters won't have to sit there getting chewed to **** by level 24-25s. I don't care what anyone says about so-called balancing - it's not balanced.
  9. Useful hint: Make sure that you use a 32-bit version of Internet Explorer (regardless of what other browsers you may usually use. Windows 7 64-bit uses IE9 64-bit by default, so run the executable from C:\Program Files (x86). There have been problems with the web site login historically.
  10. I'm actually very surprised that a company with so much knowledge and experience has made the same stupid mistake so many other games have made - you'd think they'd have learned from them. You should have made your characters non server-dependent. Select the character first, then allow the player to pick what server they are playing on today. On the character selection screen have a guild-message window so you know where to go if your server is too busy. As far as I'm concerned, and maybe it's because I'm a UK player and I've never ever had to deal with queues in MMOs outside of a beta, queueing at all is unacceptable. I should never have to wait. I am a paying customer who cannot waste away an hour or more sitting around waiting to play. I come home, I have dinner, I have an hour of free time to play...I don't want to spend it all sitting there staring at a screen and saying 'gosh....one day I will actually play the game!'.
