[Video] Shadowsin (Assassin / Shadow PvP)
oneeyedhobbit replied to Xinika's topic in Shadow / Assassin
You got me. Based on those two out of context quotes, please educate me in the way of a shadow. I want to make videos where I spam my pve rotation into guarded targets like xinika, after all. -

You're right, concealment ops trash me. That's why I came into this random and completely unrelated thread to qq about my class! -

Hey, I never said I lose to concealment operatives on the regular =). You're the guy who came into this thread whining about how bad you have it. -

Cool. You should roll a sin/shadow. Good luck. Its a tough world when you can't hiddenstrike+acid blade/backstab/shiv your target to < 30% out of stealth. -

As soon as spinning kick hits for 3k+ we can talk. Just because you're a ****-tier op doesn't make it the universal truth, sir. -

Those being abilities that require you to be behind your target, yes. I could say "ambush" if you want to get all colloquial. -

Fine, because you didn't need a knockdown on your backstab? -

I play a shadow, too. I just don't stream my pve rotation everytime I open on someone. I'm glad you like the video. This has gotten out of hand as I wasn't really intending to troll xinika/exi. I'm sure they are top notch players, I was just disappointed with this video and everyone's "wow such skill" responses when the only decent scene was exi sap healing and smashing someone in huttball. GLHF. -

King nut rider here to defend his vassal's bad video! P.S. You're right. I care too much. That's why I make videos whenever I gank someone. -
Like a sir.

You're right. Just everyone who knows pvp agrees with me. Apologies if you think I'm an ***. I just think that if you two clowns are going to parrot yourselves as the premier players of your class, the rest of the community might deserve an unbiased opinion about that "fact." -

Feel free to respond to the honest criticisms of your video instead of acting like you're good at this game anytime, Xinika. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=735322 -

Feel free to respond anytime, Xinika. Or just post more bad pvp videos.

This guy gets it. Scene 1: Grats on beating up on a dude at 70% hp who may or may not have his cd break. Scene 2: Grats on rote pve rotation against another sin already out of stealth who intelligently dips when he sees the 2v1. Arena scene: Grats on being a shadow that the other team never bothers to look at (full hp bar the entire scene), allowing you to spam your pve rotation aside from the occasional aoe knockback forcing you to speed back. I'm sure you guys are good, but this is a terrible video. Show us an arena vid where you have to leverage your dcds to intelligently stick/peel/escape and we'll talk. Until then keep impressing 12 year olds, I guess.

Personally I think bolster is a pretty good idea, but EA/Bioware has gone to great lengths to keep it shrouded in mystery to the average player. Just clear up how it works somewhere, or make it more user friendly for new players. I'm pretty confident that this is how anyone reading your posts in this thread feels.
-
Conqueror Stalkers for infil. Survivor is the tanking set, and the other two are for sages. When your brand new to 55, putting blue 46s in everything bolster's pretty well (until 2.7) so that you don't get two-shot.

I think you're missing the point. I'm not really debating that ranked solo isn't full of uncoordinated players. What I am saying is that being able to point to a successful rating and w/l ratio is a lot more to "show" in this game (with regards to pvp skill) than a mountain of self-important forum posts and a twitch stream.
-
Oh, okay. His objective rating is nothing, but you making a twitch channel (you know anyone can do that, right?) and beating uncoordinated kids in unranked warzones definitely merits bragging rights and the self-proclaimed "best shadow on tofn" title.
-
What are you supposed to have to "show" from a video game? I guess if you want to go the e-rep route, it seems that he can point to a successful ranked history while you have a bunch of forum posts and a regstar video. Grats, you really outclassed him.

Solo queuing for arenas is rough if you aren't playing with talented and intelligent players. Everybody thinks a strat like "send a dps on the healer and 2 onto one of their dps" should be adhered to as though you're in a scripted pve encounter. The reality is much more dynamic, and competitive pvp is built around assisting your partners. For example, if 2-3 dps are eating a sage/sorc, the melee dps on your team should have started peeling for you with stuns and knockbacks. Otherwise its pretty clear that you're not going to do any dps and die, and I guess you should wish them gl with the 3v4 they just set themselves up for.

Hello everyone, I know this is a rather contentious topic, and I'd like to circumvent that debate--I agree that obroan should be at the top of the pvp food chain, and finding a min-max pve set to out perform it isn't my goal. What I would like to achieve is gear that gets me as close as I can to that level with minimal investment. This is my first toon, and as I'm closing in on 55 I'd like to start investing in mods that keep me competitive with obroan geared players. Grinding out obroan while getting curb-stomped by gear is not enjoyable, and being 2-shot by gear doesn't afford any opportunities to introspect and say, "oh, when he used xyz I could have used abc and turned that around." With that in mind, does anyone have any data (preferably with screenshots to verify) on optimal bolstering for a shadow? My sense from the work done by L-Randle and others is that I should do 69 hilt/63mod/61 enhancement with a power crystal in mh/oh due to weapon damage and toss blue 46s in every other slot. Does this seem accurate? Does anyone know of pve mods that bolster significantly better (preferably with minimal cost, as I'd prefer to invest my time pvping than spamming hm fps or ops)?
