  1. The problem with the grind which most seem to miss (Especially the fanboys). Is that the ranked comms you earn are not dependent enough on individual performance. They depend on all the other people on the team to much. Some of these players can't even be bothered to put on recruit gear. Some of which are just plain terrible players. Which leads to losses. Which cuts your comms received in half or worse. That's what makes it an unfair and stupidly designed grind. Awarding more comms for individual performance is a partial solution and it would also reduce the quitting. People wouldn't quit if they knew their own play would pay off and didn't have to be dragged down by everyone else. I'm not going to sit in a hutball for 15 minutes while my team is all over the place soloing just so I can collect a lousy 70 unranked comms. Which is really only 23 ranked comms. You'll be grinding for months at that rate and it wouldn't be because your a bad player. It's because the other people your stuck with are bad players. That's just not a fair or fun system. It's a recipe for cancelled subscriptions is what it is. The other problem with team type pvp is in the design for choosing the teams. You know it's going to be a loss when the game puts 4 healers on one team and none on the other. Why should the losers be punished with so few comms when they had no chance thanks to the game itself? Or how about a team with half the players wearing recruit and the other team is in full WH? How is that going to play out being a fair match? I don't think it's remotely fair to get half the comms for something like that which is completely out of any players control.
  2. The way you fix the quitting is by not making people's commendations be dependent on how the other guy plays. I could do 500k damage, guard for another 100k, always be on the node, always be after healers and then only get 50-60 comms because of the way everyone else played. That's the problem with the whole thing right there. If a guy decides he doesn't need pvp gear why should the whole team be punished? If a guy decides he wants to take a break and sit on a node and do nothing why should the rest of us lose comms over that? If a guy decides he doesn't want to call incoming until the last second everyone gets punished. If a guy wants to ignore the fact the player he's attacking is being healed and he's never going to get anywhere until he grows a brain and targets the healer why should every player take a hit for that? If bioware doesn't want me to quit when I see a bad team with a bunch of dummies on it then don't penalize me for the way those dummies play. Let them be bad players and also let them be rewarded accordingly. Why penalize the whole entire team because of the very few bad players out there? It's a broken system that was poorly thought out and designed.
  3. How about this plan. 1. If you don't have the time to be bothered with getting the free pvp gear at least then you can't queue for pvp. 2. If your in a match and haven't attacked a healing class then good bye your kicked out. Those are the 2 things that make me quit. I'm not wasting my time with lazy people who can't gear up or with stupid people who can't think.
  4. I think it's fair to blame the team when some of them can't even be bothered to get their free pvp gear. Why should the rest of us have to sit thru a match like that?
  5. The main reason there are fillers at all is because people quit when the teams not evenly matched. Which is all the time since the AI that does the team making clearly can't understand 5 healers on one side is not a fair match against a team with no healers. It also can't understand one side having a team full of war hero's against a team of recruits isn't a fair match.
  6. One test run thru the instance would have revealed that bug. Leads one to the conclusion that they did not even bother to test it even a single time.
  7. EA realized months ago that SWTOR was dying. EA is not going to invest anything into fixing this game. What they are going to do is make promises and drag it out for as long as the fanboys keep subscribing. They are cutting costs left and right. They are reducing their workforce. They are reducing the hardware needed with soon to come forced transfers. Go look at EA's library of titles released over the years and you will see that games with problems are never truly fixed. Even when they know a game is broke the game will stay on the shelf and be sold to people. We know they have let go many programmers and yet they are promising subscribers all this future content. Ask yourself how can that be possible if hardly anyone is employed to work on coding these additions? This is the EA MO. This is the business model they have had in place now for years. It's all about lying and misleading consumers into buying promises. The main reason this happens is because nobody has dragged EA into court with a lawsuit and won anything substantial. There is no consumer agency protecting consumers from being sold lies by software companies and there is no punishment for these dishonest practices. It's the only industry I know of that that you cannot get a refund for a bad product. Software companies like EA have been using that fact to fleece consumers for years now.
  8. The game is on the ropes and the fanboys are in ultra panic mode. They won't allow your complaints to be heard. They have risen up to defend their beloved Star Wars game. The forums should only be used to pretend the game is good. They don't want to hear any facts about the games problems.
  9. Well clearly you've never rented out a living space and have pretty much no idea what your talking about. You think you can kick a tenant out for insulting you and you couldn't be more wrong about that. Plus I doubt your mom and dad would allow it.
  10. and that is your problem. You think it's all about how you react or feel about something. If you don't think it's a big deal then nobody should. Typical modern spoiled kids perspective on the world.
  11. Well then smarty pants who should the paying customer complain too? You fanboys think your protecting your game but what your actually doing is drowning out legitimate complaints people have. In the process of doing that more and more people quit because they are not heard and glitches and bugs and failing hardware go unfixed. In the near future you'll be the only ones who want to play this game. Wake up and look at whats going on with the game. Look at the skeleton crew running it. Look at the subscription count continue to drop. It's not the perfect game you think it is and being in denial about it's problems isn't saving it.
  12. It has been mentioned many times and it's a legit gripe. It's a rerun of the tv show 'get smart' every time you board your spaceship. Which isn't really a ship at all. It's just a room you enter so you can choose another room to enter and then go thru a hall and into another room and onto another ship and then finally onto a planet.. Really streamlined procedure they thought up.
  13. 1. Maybe if they didn't take the game down 2-3 times a week there wouldn't be 20 threads complaining about it. 2. If those type of threads annoy you then don't read them.
  14. and when you grow up you'll realize your opinion isn't the only one that counts. People paying for a service have certain expectations. Just because you set the bar on the floor doesn't mean the rest of the world does.
  15. And your not the only one who didn't see it because it wasn't given across all servers. Which will come as a shock to some of the fanboys on here who haven't yet realized there is life beyond their little bubbles. Cause you know if it didn't happen in their little bubbles then it didn't happen.
  16. Instead of bribing players to transfer where you want them why don't you let them transfer where they choose? I have 2 characters on a server that is dead so I rerolled on a server that had people. Why am I not being allowed to unify my toons? I can only play one at a time so merging them is not going to have an impact on the destination servers population. Why would you think we would be happy having our characters split up among different servers?
  17. I cancelled and then reupped for 1.3 and now letting it run out again for good. The transfers were just like the rest of the game. Bioware wants to decide for you everything in the game. They want you to transfer where they decide. You spend 50 levels wearing gear that Bioware wants you to use. Companions have the look and names Bioware decided for you. Everywhere you look is Aric Jargon or another stupid T7. Quest dialogue is a joke. Why? Because in the end your choices don't matter your still going to end up doing it exactly the way Bioware wants you to. Everyone has the same look that Bioware decided everyone would be happy with. There really is no good looking armor or outfits in the game. Look at the helmets. The artists for this game were able to make like 1 or 2 decent looking helmets. People have huge butts that wear robes...It's just so amateurishly done. The gear is a joke. It doesn't matter what you kill or what quest you finish. The gear you get is never anything you would want or will ever use. Planets rated for specific levels drop loot for levels way below the rating of the planet. The voice acting is ok, just ok and it's a one time deal as far as entertaining goes. To have every class go thru the same quests each time is absurd. Why would any game maker even think for 5 seconds that would keep people subscribed. ANd the animations are so repetitive. Male, Female, alien....doesn't matter they have the same exact movements and animations. It's just embarrassingly stupid and kinda offensive that this company thinks were all so brain dead that would keep us entertained. Crafting is the worst in any MMO I've ever tried, going all the way back to ultima online. You might easily spend 30k-40k on making a single piece of armor or whatever your crafting. By the time you are successful most of the time you've already passed the character level where it would have mattered. The art work in the game just doesn't do it for me. For example the speeders all look like they were painted at earl sheib and sold at a used car lot. Just garbage looking. Where is the imagination of the artists? I mean I can make better looking speeders in anim8er. The game runs terrible. In particular on the fleet. Loading screens are insane. It's like the opening to the TV show "get smart" going from your ship to a planet or vise versa. The layout of places like the fleet and most quests are such that the only purpose is to waste your time. It's like they knew deep down this game didn't have the content to keep people playing so they tried to slow everyone down with these terrible time sinks like dead end maps and endless back and forth quests. At the end of the day Bioware just took away to many choices for the players and instituted this form of forced game play. The likes of which I've never seen before. I like to make my own choices. I like to wear what I want to wear and maybe I don't want a companion. I don't want to stand at the GTN and look around at all the clones wearing their clone gear.
  18. Twice yesterday my team was dropped a couple minutes before the WZ timer ended and given zero rewards. Suddenly there is just the loading screen and your back where you were before entering the WZ match. It wasn't just me it was everyone in that WZ instance who was dropped and lost all rewards and time put into the match. Just another item on a long list of fails for this game.
  19. I have to laugh at those who are so easily pushed around that they will actually be willing to pay for a transfer. Why would you pay for something that's not your fault? I mean you didn't make a game with so little to do that within 6 months everyone has quit.. Server population is not the real underlying problem is it? The problem is the game itself not being fun enough or interesting enough to entertain people beyond a month or two. There was a mass exodus for a reason and server transfers does nothing to fix that.
  20. I cancelled this evening for a couple reasons. There is never a sense that after you finish a tough battle maybe you will loot something special that not everyone has. No mystery or anticipation like in other games. Everyone has the same stuff. Everyone looks the same. I remember doing raids in EQ and everyone held there breath when a big chest dropped. Whatever was inside was rare and unique. It made the whole effort worth while and fun. And there was a small chance that could happen even when you were soloing and killing trash mobs. You could get a rare great item hardly anyone had. It brought the mystery and anticipation to the game. The game relies so heavily on quests/missions that by level 50 there is nothing else in the game for you to do. There is no getting together with a group of friends to hit some hard zone in search of that rare item known to drop there. There just isn't enough content in the game to sustain players after they reach 50 and it only takes a few weeks to reach that. I found the missions were boring after awhile. It basically consisted of go to point x on the map. Spend more time finding point X than you will actually doing the quest usually and then watch the same old repeating animation but with different dialogue. After that you get rewarded with some credits, social and an item way below your level that you won't ever use. Having to load so many times when you go to or from your ship gets really, really old. I found the space battles became overly difficult to the point I didn't even bother with them after awhile. Could be that I just don't have the reflexes for it though. Maybe everyone else had no problem. I played a Sentinal to lvl 50 and a trooper to lvl 50 in about 6 weeks. During that time I spoke to maybe 2 people the whole time I played because there was never anyone on. It was like playing in a ghost town or something and I kept asking myself why I am paying $15 a month for a solo game. And so in the end I have cancelled but I wish the gamers who stay well and hope they improve this game for you. I think it does have potential to be fun in the end if your willing to stick around. It just needs more content added but when is the question.
